From my perspective, on any given night, any of the top 5 teams are capable of beating one another

Yea basically. And I think Silsbee fans are too discouraged about loosing a couple games. At the end of the day they still have a chance at winning district and even if they don’t they are still in the playoffs which means there’s still plenty hope. It ain’t over till it’s over

I like the picks but me being incline to pick Coldspring (my school) we will have to see being that Crockett is in the way... If Coldspring makes it I have them winning by 3 or less

The way the brackets are set up I dont think Crockett and Coldspring would meet up until the finals.

So private schools can recruit but not public ..loll... ahhh ok ...For the last time these kids would’ve been on soph or jv at either Bmt school. For them to play on a varsity team not knowing how this would turn out is a testament to the coach . Stop trying to undermine what he’s done , he’s developed those kids I know every last one of the kids in question his teaching has taken their game to a whole other level. It’s a ton  of coaches who dont develop these kids just roll the ball and say play. HF was dormant a black hole. Couldn’t keep a coach now they have one and ppl crying about transfers because they had HF as an easy win which is no more lace em up and get ready to play because they are coming whether some like it or not!!!!

Yes private schools or schools who compete against other schools allowed to recruit should be allowed to recruit. And being that he got all those transfers and still isn’t even in position to make the playoffs at this point he hasn’t done a great job COACHING in my opinion. Good recruiter though

Hey what did UIL or the DC say about the kids who transferred in ?

And your right the UIL cleared the kids so I guess that’s that. I have no problem with the kids by the way. I am happy for them. I know it’s hard to get playing time on a team at one of those bigger schools. The coaches have a tough job choosing from all the talent they have available at those schools and sometimes they miss out on a “diamond in the rough”. I’m happy The the kids get to pursue their hoop dreams. I just think the coach is getting to much credit for being a great coach when he’s really a good recruiter. And I don’t think public schools are the place for recruiting athletes

Like what you did there, its ok .smh. Moving the goalposts I see, its cool keep telling yourselves that its fine if they have “family ties” lol...

It’s not automatically ok if they have family ties. I don’t live in either of these communities and I don’t know the details of what goes on in these situations. I’m just looking in from the outside and revealing how it looks from my angle. It’s more believable that there was no foul play if there are family ties. When 4 kids transfer to the same school, neither of them are related to my knowledge, neither of them have previous ties to the community to my knowledge. The only thing they have in common is they’re all decent b-ball players and they all have a relationship with the new coach in this community that was never known for b-ball. Seems like they were recruited by the new coach for basketball. Not saying that can’t be the case for other situations in other communities but if that is the case in those situations it’s just less obvious

    Silsbee,Hj,East Chambers

I wasn’t aware that ever happened at Silsbee or HJ. I do have an idea about EC. They had 2 or 3 transfers last year and I believe they were all related and their family had ties to EC. That doesn’t stick out as recruitment to me. Just seems like EC benefited from legitimate transfers. Those things happen sometimes especially at schools that have a winning traditions

All I hear is grown men get on this board cry about children wanting a chance to play the game they love. The game of basketball travels across a lot of boarders and if a kid wants to find an opportunity then let them. If the rule says they can play them so be it ,if they have to sit out a year so be it. But quit crying this is why this generation is softer than drug store cotton. Most of y’all act like these kids are criminal because they move in to play somewhere. Y’all don’t know what some of these kids are told at the school their leaving from you just assume . I could go on and on but If I knew what I knew now my son probably would’ve went to Nederland, silsbee, Houston yates or Klein  Forest and I bet no one would’ve said a word because it benefits them!!!!

I have no problem with kids transferring. Even if it’s just for athletic reasons that’s their business in my opinion long as they are approved by the UIL. I have a problem with coaches RECRUITING. I find it hard to believe that 3 or 4 talented basketball kids decided to move to HF the same year on their own. If this type of thing gets out of hand it’s not only unfair to opponents to basically have to compete against “select teams”. It’s unfair to hometown kids who don’t get to rep their community because the coach has recruited a roster full of selects

I in no way am saying that Coach Rideaux is not a good coach, but some of their success must be attributed to the number of transfers from Beaumont.  I think that if you add those players to just about any struggling program in the area, or non-struggling program, you will see an improvement in results.  I have spoken on here about how I don't agree with his methods, but obviously he has a good enough relationship with those players that it is successful.  As they continue to get transfers, I am sure that their success will increase.  I also don't like the transfers coming in.  That is why I enjoyed small town basketball so much.  You didn't have transfers near as much in the small towns.  I guess it was a matter of time. Sad state of affairs for these programs that don't benefit from that type of activity.

I don’t mind transfers. I just don’t like recruiting. Save that for the next level. If your coaching high school just coach what you have to the best of your abilities
