Football is an 11 man sport. Basketball is a 5 man sport. 1 or 2 guys will make a lot bigger difference in basketball than it will in football. That's why WW won more playoff games in basketball than football with Bryant.

Again there was a lot more than one thread that year. You made a lot of statements just doing what groupies do. Basing everything off accolades. Non of that matters when you line it up. Them stangs is not gone be concerned about his p4 offers when they line up at the line of scrimmage
-
You said something about him being the best player at the beginning of district play after a loss to Diboll in which he scored zero touchdowns. Not everything is on that one thread. It was all year long basically. You couldn't get enough and you was supposed to be a Coldspring coachš¤£
-
Don't know how 34-7 at halftime and 44-14 in the 4th is giving Columbus a game. And there were multiple big time athletes at Hitchcock who were doing what he has done as sophomore except they actually got some championship hardware in bball.
-
I tried to dig up one of your comments and bring it back but it didn't post for some reason but you were saying he was the best athlete in 3A and Coldspring and Westwood would win district. Said something about him being MVP that year. CS didn't even make the playoffs and WW placed 3rd and got beat by 30 second round. Newcomer of the Year is clearly not MVP and cupcake scheduling had a lot to do with their records.
-
You wasn't even close his freshman year. You made all kinds of wild predictions. He half way met them last season but his freshman season wasn't even close to what you were trying to make him out to be other than some preseason cupcakes
-
Here you go again. The 8th grader has yet to play high school ball and you allready bout to be pregnant𤰠Let the kids prove themselves on the varsity level before you start handing out awards. I'm sure your probably right on the bball side but that football district is tough so you just can't assume that
-
Of course and sometimes a couple plays within seconds of those 4 quarters can change the whole outlook of the game. Sometimes in matchups where that happens those 2 teams can play again and get a totally different result. Then you have matchups where one team dominates the majority of the downs on both sides of the ball. Those teams can probably play several times and get the same result because one team is "outclassed" by the other.

Just because everybody is saying it doesn't make it true. Majority of people never thought Woodville would get there in the first place and we all know that was wrong now. Score was 7-0 at halftime before Gunter created more seperation with a couple kick returns second half.
-
Not true at all.
-
It's life. People have opinions. If he can't deal with it then he done the right thing. Maybe people won't have opinions in Crawford. Nobody put a gun to his head and told him to leave but nobody's holding him hostage neither. Good luck to him

Last year wasn't bad at all. I don't expect we should totally get away from what we did last year. But some things could be done better and hopefully that's what we'll be working towards this upcoming year
-
Everyone can't do what Franklin does. Different teams have different constructs. A balanced approach is probably best for Woodville. And it helps to be able to tweak it a little bit depending on the opponents strengths and weaknesses. We have players that can hurt you in different ways and we need a coach who realizes that and knows how to utilize it

Hodges from Shiro?
-
Sutherland? Neece?
-
Game really would have been closer if it wasn't for a couple breakdowns on special teams coverage. There wasn't as big of a talent gap as people are trying to make it seem.
-
Woodville has plenty more great seasons to come. Hopefully we'll get another look at Gunter in the upcoming years
-
Your definitely right. I don't know what's going on through the headsets at all. But it looked like we basically had the same gameplan throughout the year regardless of who we were playing. Only thing that changed in the playoffs was Tay started getting more touches and by the time we got to Arlington, Gunter had plenty film on him.
-
A couple offensive adjustments probably would have got us a score or 2. Those scores might have shifted the momentum of the game. That's what shifted the momentum the game before except it was a defensive score
-
Your talking about Luke?
-
Yea we can definitely use a more offensive minded coach but we still want to make sure we don't get away from the toughness and things like that which Coach Rob helped instill which contributed to becoming a winning program
-
Obviously. But I think it might work out better for our program and for him over at Crawford as well. He's been great for our program but it's probably just time to part ways
-
You might have to be aware of what we got coming up at Woodville to understand where I'm coming from
-
Interesting. Late in the 3rd quarter with zero on the scoreboard in the state game you should be willing to make some adjustments
-
There's probably many different variables but the main reason I've heard is family and location. Or maybe Rob agrees with LionPride who thinks it's a step up. Who knows
