All of a sudden the coaching staff decides they want to go with a 3 man front for the first time I've seen all year. Weird as hell. I know why they done it but they probably made up some excuse in their head about WR being a throwing team. Well.... they still killed us running as well as throwing because 1. We're not getting enough pressure on the qb and 2. You don't got the right guy back playing safety. WR ran the ball left and right freely then threw it over our heads. Only stop we got was when we sent a blitz. Think that was the first time I seen that all year. Then we're down by 2 or 3 scores so now you think you gotta throw the ball every play. No! You just have to finish drives and get stops!

WR has been more of a defensive team for the most part this year. Their offense hasn't been super explosive so our defense should have a chance if they step it up. Offense should do well "IF" the play calling is legit also.

I think so for the most part. May be 1 or 2 possibly missing though

First round playoff game Thursday in Nacogdoches. Any thoughts on this match up?

Kountze is a decent looking team but yea we probably won't get past the second round or maybe not even the first if we don't step it up a notch

Arp up 33-15 in the 4th. Looks like Woodville will face WR and Kountze will face Arp

Judging by recent scores they are definitely very close. Partially because of some injuries but also Woodville just hasn't played close to their potential the majority of the year. I think the Diboll game is the best look at how good Woodville could be on a good night. If we're playing at that level it's probably not close but if we continue the same patterns it'll be close with Kountze possibly pulling a upset

I'll be pulling for Kountze in the playoffs but I'm really hoping Woodville comes out and dominates this game big time

Yea max preps shows Kountze winning those years but your probably right because I don't recall Kountze ever winning. They may have won some decades ago though.

Zack Martin's freshman year if I'm not mistaking. Kountze had won Arnold's junior year the year before as well as his sophomore year. I don't remember Kountze ever beating Woodville other than that

Last time it was close was when Grayland Arnold was playing for Kountze

Looking forward to see how that one goes. Winner/loser of that game plays loser/winner of WR/Arp first round. If winner makes second round they probably face Edgewood. If loser happens to make the second round they probably face Daingerfield. Should be a playoff atmosphere next week

Everybody can't spell as good as you champ

I didn't expect jv to be that great this year. Most of the good sophomores are on varsity and the freshmen aren't spectacular overall although there are some good pieces there. JH is what concerns me. 7th looks good but 8th is not playing anywhere near their potential. I think bad coaching could ruin all the JH talent if they're not developed correctly. Seen it happen many times in Woodville back in the day

You simply didn't have to mention Woodville if you didn't think we'd get past the first round since the topic is about teams who will go 3 rounds or more. You just couldn't help yourself I guess 😆 I think Woodville should at least get past the first round and probably be a little better next year. Things can go downhill quick when this sophmore group graduates if the coaching is no good though

I'll wait to see how Woodville looks in the final district game against Kountze to get a better guage on what we can do in the playoffs. Far as I can tell right now we'll have some very winnable games first 3 rounds though. Hopefully we take advantage of this week off to regroup and make improvements so we can go into the final district game playing playoff football. Really haven't been playing playoff football here lately though

Arp plays ND this upcoming week and WR the week after. Winner of the Arp/ND game will likely get the 3rd seed.

Shepherd has a few solid players. Jasper's not great this year. Got some talent in some areas but their kind of young overall. Outcome of this game is probably partially due to just low team morale at this point though
