  1. I hope so. But judging by Woodville's performance from 7th through varsity it looks like it might be going down hill. The defense definitely could have been better than what was shown last year and that needs to be fixed
  2. He's probably not going anywhere unless he decides to leave. He's in good with the right people.
  3. Probably would have lost to Newton either way. Good chance we'd have won at least 2 more with some personnel adjustments in the defensive front though. Edgewood was definitely a winnable game.
  4. That sucks. It would feel a lot better to beat one of those (especially Gunter) in the state game.
  5. Yea that's basically it there. They got up by two scores early and their defense was good enough that Newton couldn't score quickly enough before they ran out of time.
  6. I saw at least 2 holding calls at critical moments that I thought were questionable. Not saying they were bad calls. Just saying I didn't see what they saw
  7. One of them had it in his hands. Gotta hold on to that
  8. Close one. Porter was amazing. Willed his way for tough yardage all night even though the defense was totally keyed in on him. Then that TD catch was super clutch.
  9. Some of the flags against the offense look questionable to me
  10. Looks like Wall made up their mind they wouldn't let Porter beat them after that first drive. Newton probably needs to try some different looks Wall might not have seen on film and try to protect the freshman QB a little better
  11. Looks like Wall probably has the best OLine Newton has seen this year other than WOS maybe. Newton's front 7 might not be able to penetrate as quickly and rapidly but if they keep chipping at it they'll make some plays down the stretch. I think it could possibly be close for 2 or 3 quarters with Newton pulling away at the end
  12. Stangs with the upset. Go stangs!
  13. Same here. I hope they get a chance to beat the snot out of em. 💜🏆
  14. Aledo's a nice place. Get some retired pro athletes come settle in that area sometimes also. I think Diboll's JerMichael Finley, who played TE for the packers, moved there after his NFL career to be a trainer. His son's one of their top receivers now if I'm not mistaking. They got a lot of resources 💰 to make things happen there and tend to attract the right people to keep things going.
  15. The only real competition they have when it comes to drawing talent is Duncanville. Duncanville might take one or 2 of their best guys every now and then but they still have plenty to chose from within that large population
  16. Very simular as far as race and economics and all that but Oak Cliff has like 6 times the population of PA. And yet PA is competing in 5AD1 while SOC competes in 5AD2 because of "school enrollment". Meanwhile the best athletes in the 300000 population of Oak Cliff as well as some athletes from neighboring communities will probably attend SOC while the others will attend other schools in the area. SOC has a bigger drawing pool than PA yet they play in a lower classification.
  17. Congrats Newton! Yall got it! 🏆
  18. My memory may be a little clouded but I just recall some controversy about a qb that was trying to transfer to SOC if I'm not mistaking. Several others who have successfully transferred in over the years also. I may be wrong about any blatant cheating but I'm pretty sure SOC and some other DFW schools (especially Duncanville) are utilizing some advantages some schools in more rural areas don't have when it comes to drawing pools. Good win for SOC though.
  19. Good game Indians. Maybe next year
  20. PA by fiddy! Keep going all the way Titans!
  21. I agree SOC has always had talent but you you can't give too much credit for recent success to coaching when there's blatant recruiting going on.
  22. That might depend on what you consider rough. I would never mistake it for South Dallas like someone else did though
