  1. It was ugly Angelina scored at least 20 in 7 innings and only allowed about 4 all unearned from 3 errors. They played 5-5-5 with the first team as follows: C- Bennie Gonzales 1B- Chase Hernandez 2B-Chris Laird 3B-Chris Andreas SS-Jerrod Dugas LF-Mark Serna CF-Paul Prestera RF-Michael Padgett DH-Jake Rowell Kendal showed some gas yesterday hitting at least 89 consistantly. Defense had 1 bad inning allowing 3 runs on errors by 1B,P,2B
  2. Nothing will change until all of the student athletes decide they are going to change it for themselves, take pride in turning the program around, the kids that are playing football are giving it everything they have and I applaud them but there is at least 20 plus amazing athletes with size and ability that have been convinced to play only 1 sport wheather it be Basketball or Baseball or something else. They decide to focus on trying to better themselves for college, not a bad thing but when it is over the regrets begin and I have heard them from many including my own who skipped his Jr. year but went back. Just one time I want to see all of these athletes get together and play football because they would be a better team, WOS does not have one strong athlete that is not playing football......it's just the way it is. Again just my opinion and it means nothing.
  3. I was able to see practice yesterday and the Roadrunner's look good, According to the Coaches they are ahead of last year at this time due to the returners. The Pitching staff looks really strong and the defense looks to be better than last year: Update on Locals: Allison-Central, This kid can fly he is still a little raw but the talent is there. he is working in the OF Laird-Ned, Looks really good @2b should be the projected starter Rowell-LCM, moved to 3rd and he is getting better and better, look for him to start there.Selected to the All-Star game Serna-WB, Did not work out in the OF sore arm I think but he hit well and should start in LF Wallace-WB, new to the college seen good size and should compete for time behind the plate Dugas-LCM, coming off of surgery he looks strong at SS and according to the Coaches they are excited about his progress, he looks to be leading for the start @SS Padgett-BH, will compete for playing time in the OF probably LF with Serna Barrera- Look for him to be a middle relever he has some nasty stuff according to the kids Pitchers: I was not able to see much but with Kendall and Smith and Rackel they are some big boys...
  4. My bad, I continue to forget our friends and team mates across the river, Padgett will surely see time in the OF, Chase on the hill, but I am excited to see Thamm I have heard is is a very solid pitcher, Also good luck to Kenny the OF could be loaded with the strong possibility that Andreas moves out there. I am ready to watch after a off year, Go Runners
  5. Retuning players: Jake Rowell, Jerrod Dugas-LCM, BJ Armstrong, Mark Serna, Newcomer Todd Wallace-WB, and Chris Laird-Ned Should be ready to start the new Fall season very soon, good luck to all of these guys.
  6. Update: Sundevils lose in first round of Championship bracket to Team Carolina 3-1 to finish the tourney @ 4-2, Also The Golden Triangle Baseball Club also finished 4-2 after winning the consolation game, GTB finished 2nd in thier pool. Congrats to both teams
  7. Nice post VP..... MIF04 has always been a reliable source so I would think he may have some insight, it will be interesting to see if Coach Green does decide to stay in Vidor will the other coaches that applied be happy with being the "second" choice.......
  8. You can get a emergency certification all it takes is a fee.... And they did know and discuss....
  9. The certification issue for Fackler was address at the interview, he was told it was not a problem and could be quickly resolved, and from what I have heard he has not pulled out, he was going to but was convinced otherwise.
  10. Rumor has it that the job was offered to a Coach that says he did not apply??? COOP????
  11. OlGabe is right, Instead of complaining about who did not get the job, Mustang country should get behind the one Coach Hooks picked. Jessie is a great kid and loves the game of baseball, he has a passion for the game and will do everything in his power to bring WOS Baseball back to the top, he will not be outworked for sure. He is a local Coach who grew up here so get behind him and support him. Jessie we have already talked, call me when you are ready to put on the Golf Tourney to raise money.
  12. I will go with DBU to win the College station regional and Texas to win the Rice regional just because they are one of the hottest teams in the country right now with the bat.....
  13. I think we have beat this to death, as humans it is in our nature to want to know everything about a subject or incident in which we disagree, and by all of the post we have some that agree with the move and some that do not. But one thing is for sure unless Billy or someone from the school board has a direct conversation or post on this board we will never know the entire story.....so let's move on. Coach Bryant will resurface if "he" wants to continue his coaching and could probably pick his job, because he is a good baseball coach. Politics are the way of life, some think they are wronged and others think they know better......in the end no one really knows anything
  14. Season Over eliminated by Wharton in the regional. Losing 5 starters and the 2 top pitchers.
  15. Go to tsrnsports.com and look and Jr. College baseball
  16. Angelina split with Navarro this weekend to up it's conf. record to 13-7 and move into second place. Chris Laird from Nederland hit his second HR in the last 3 games to help the runners, Chris is hitting about .340 on the year, Jake Rowell-LCM continues to hit the ball well and has 6 HR's on the season and is hitting around .330, Mark Serna-WB also hit a HR this past weekend and is batting around the .330 mark for the season. BJ Armstrong-WB has been out with a injury off and on all year and Jerrod Dugas-LCM had surgery this past thursday to repair a torn Labrium in the back of his shoulder he should be back full strength in 4 to 6 months. He will receive a medical redshirt for this year.
  17. I was at that first game and he did sub some but had most of his starters were in the game, they were just shut down by a good pitcher. And in case no one has noticed the SLC is way down this year in baseball, Lamar even though they are in first does not have a strong team, SFA is not near as good as last year and the same can be said about Sam Houston and UTSA and Texas State. It should make it interesting, but I think UTSA and Texas St. are the teams to beat, SE LA. probably has the best pitching staff.
  18. AC swept by Navarro 12-1 and 8-4 Then AC sweeps Panola 3-0 9-8 13-12-2 and 3-5 in Conf.
  19. Ehlert just controls UTA: [Hidden Content]
  20. ACC wins second game of Paris series 3-2. ACC swept by Texarkana 8-2 and 3-2. Record is 11-10-2 and 1-3 in conf.
  21. Game #1 Paris 7 Roadrunners 4 AC led 4-0 in the 6th and then gave up 7 in the 6th to the Dragons.
  22. Serna and Rowell have seen some playing time and both are hitting over .300 for the Runners Laird has seen a little time at 2nd and SS BJ has played a pretty good bit in CF as a backup but I am not sure of stats. Cassidy has at least 1 relief outing that was pretty good. Dugas is hurt and has been out most of the year, look for a medical redshirt for him. Roadrunners can hit, defense is a weak point and Team pitching has a ERA of over 6.00 currently 10-7. Conf. play begins Wed. 3-12 @Paris
  23. New update on Foxsports has Lamar as a 14th seed
  24. No Locals played in the first game, except Jake's pinch hit apperance, first game took 3.45 hours. Second game starters had Serna in LF 1-2 single,F9, Dugas @2b 0-1, 6-3 Second game only last 3 innings, Armstrong from WB was on the DL for a sore quad.
  25. It was also his first collegiate swing, nice slugfest in Lufkin........
