  1. My bad for leaving out Chase he will be a key to our Middle relief with that nasty stuff he throws. Remember I am from the Golden Triangle so local would mean inside that triangle but Thamm has forced me out of my comfort zone...... According to mine the practices have been very sharp...Rowell has moved behind the plate and we are now very strong there with him and Johnson.
  2. Boys started today with a little conditioning, Locals in Lufkin: Jake Rowell and Jerrod Dugas-LCM Mark Serna and Todd Wallace (INJ RS) and Austin Huff- WB Kenny Allison-Central Chris Laird-Ned Michael Padgett and Kendal Thamm-BH
  3. I think it is between Jeff Harrell-OC Texas High and Mike Long-HC/AD Kelley And yes both have applied.
  4. Earl has impressed me from where he began this year and how much he has improved, his closing speed is amazing. He will become a major force in the Texas Secondary and become the next big draft choice from a defense that produces many NFL DB's. He is on his way to being better than Kevin Smith mainly because he will light you up and that was not Kevin's style in college or NFL. Earl has a amazing work ethic and will get bigger and stronger, Beasly will be replaced next year and it won't be Wells, Well's has to get a heck of alot better in coverage. With Beasly being a Sr. next year they will go younger. As far as Gideon remember he is a True freshman and he will become much better.
  5. Sure makes for interesting conversation: Any info on who has applied?
  6. I love the winds that are swirling around here are 2 i heard from some good sources: 1. Surratt is interested and might apply??? 2. Griff might also apply for the AD position? Then you only need a football coach to focus on football. The more they swirl the more it gets interesting.......
  7. Polls are now closed and the results were close: Coach Crouch-43 Coach Alverez- 32 Coach Bolton- 24 Coach Harrell- 23 Coach Long- 22 Now it is all about who applies................
  8. Alverez would be the choice if he applies, we know that Crouch will apply.
  9. Crouch and Alverez in a tight battle...............
  10. I would say it comes down to what LCM is looking for: Is it the Older Experience Coach with proven success Coach Crouch Coach Long Coach Bolton Or a younger exciting in your face kind of coach: Coach Rankin Coach Parsons Coach Alverez I beleive you can be very succesfull with either, but I would like to see a coach that really loves the program and embraces not only Football and makes it competitive but respects and helps the Highly successfull programs like VB, BB and Baseball and Cross Country and the recent State Champion Softball teams. Remember lots of work for this guy just to get all of the excellent athletes at LCM back on that football field.
  11. On the LCM website it says Masters Degree Preferred.
  12. After input added other names and reset vote, get after it people.
  13. If you believe other please list your choices, as it appears other is ahead early.
  14. No Politic Blog just vote, and if you do not like the choices select other.
  15. I like that my earlier post was "Looney" and the idea of handing the reigns to a JH coach with no varsity experience is not, but I like Coach Burke he is a good guy and very dedicated to MMS, I would love to see him as maybe an DC or OC first, then if he has success move up like the standard coaching levels work. You cannot compare playing evadale and buna JH to Nederland PNG Ozen and the talent of this district. Again before I get attacked by family, I like Coach Burke but is he really ready for a AD position? My Ranking: 1.Alverez- if he would apply 2.Crouch 3.Rankin- Def. Cord at LCM and the Kids loved him and he demanded and recieved respect 4.Bolton- again OFF Cord. and has done this awhile what about Smalley the OC from BC?
  16. According to a Coach that is on this list and will apply for the job it has not even been posted as of Friday, see the sense of urgency, I also know that when the bears hired Coach Moody there was a certain applicant that wanted the job at LCM very badly, he pulled his name because they were taking so long.....it's ashame because he took a local 5A job and is doing an outstanding job, and before you ask how I know this I talked to this certain coach on numerous occasions before this happened. Now let's get back to who we would like: I have heard Rankin,Bolton,Burke,Crouch,Alverez so list in order your pick as to who would be the best.
  17. So you do not think Alverez will go from a 2a school to a 4a with all of the facilities and a opportunity to show just how good he is.....I think he will, word is that had alot to do with Kirbyville playing at LCM for the playoffs......a audition if you will. i may be wrong and this is all speculation but it makes for great communication on a web page.
  18. I would like to see someone like Coach Crouch or Coach Alveraz, Coach Crouch applied four years ago and is back trying again so he is not scared of Politics or Parents, and Coach Alveraz also applied and is back again, look what he did or is doing at Kirbyville.
  19. First thing I would do as the New Head Coach is have a meeting for all Male students at LCM in the Gym, you need to appeal to them that you cannot do it alone it will take every Bear in the stands to turn this around. Since the computer crashed and we lost so many post let me repeat, Our School Board and it's members know noting about Football....Zero....Nada.... Put together a search committee, I suggested about 6 or 7 Business Men in the area that had son's and daughters play at LCM but no longer have that tie. They just care about LCM sports and want to help. Again a few names: Poutrea,Trahan,Reeves,Landry,Green,Mize......this list could go on but I am sure these men would give of there personel time to help with the process.
  20. Congrats Jake on becoming a Trojan, Now lets go win a NJCAA title in Angelina before you leave. Great Kid, Great Family and they just fell in love with ARK-LR on the visit and the offer was just what he wanted.....
  21. Let me also clear this up, i feel some are using Coach Griff as a excuse that there son does not play football. My son played football and was a 3 year starter in baseball, never discourage as a matter of fact he was greatly supported, Shon Landry,Knox Mc., Philip Richard and Chad Richard are just a few names of players that were very successfull on both fields, so put that BS to rest because it does not happen and for a fact it has not in the last 8 years.
  22. I hate to do this but if the December rumors are true, the school board should not waste any time and bring in Coach Crouch from WOS, he is a local coach with a tremendous amount of knowledge and success. He will bring the wining atitude and work ethic needed to field a competitive team, at LCM it is not about wining yet it is about trying to be competitive first. Also bring Coach Dyer for defense if you could coach????? It is what would be best for LCM, and Coach Hooks has a long line of coaches that would love to replace them.
  23. Angelina defeated NE Oklahoma 8-4 behind the pitching of Cory Beinivedous-Frienswood and 4 inn. of relief from Elroy Urbina-Hutto. Second game did not start until after 9pm. I will give results soon. 2 more games Saturday. Local starters included 3B Rowell-LCM, SS Laird-Ned, 2B Dugas-LCM, LF Serna-WB
  24. Jake did play third in the second 5 innings, TCU wanted to see Andreas at 3rd so Coach Livin made the move. Jake is still working at 3rd and Andreas will probably start in RF.
