I can only give you schools that have made contacts with some of these kids, those that have shown the most interest: LCM: Womack- McNeese St. Laredo Jr. Coll. Dugas- Northwesten St., K-state, UTSA, and Ole' Miss. Schneider- Laredo JUCO Adams- Not sure I will attempt to find out more from these guys this week.

Another great post let me throw out a few: Sparks-WOS top LH pitcher and a strong outfielder, but this team will be weak. Coleman-BC he is being projected at SS to replace a great defender in Coulter, This will be one of the biggest keys for BC. Stringer-BC another LH that got his first season under his belt and with all the PR going to Kevin and Broc he could be fantastic. Dugas-LCM Early to middle of the season was the #2 pitcher leading the team in strikeouts(yes more than Ehlert) before having arm problems,been working out for months getting ready, also could be hugh with the stick. McInnis-PNG not for pitching but can he step in a first or DH and be a solid power hitter, very big and strong. This should be a Great season for the Golden Triangle and Baseball fans, the number of early D-1 signees is only going to grow with the high expectations of all these players and teams.

Nice list but I believe you will see at least 5 new names on that list, way to early to tell who they are yet.

Let's not forget LCM beat Montgomery 11-0 in game 1 before lossing at Montgomery 4-3 and 5-4. LCM returns pretty much the same team but must replace Jaynes' big bat. If the Bears get on a roll look out, but they must come together and play up to the hype. I like BC to go a good distance but only if they find replacements for those quality kids they lost last year.

Excellent anology MIF04 you have study well or are very familar with the teams locally, and I do agree with most of what you say. I will say look for a very strong staff from LCM, Ehlert is a given, Womack-LH coming back after TJ surgery in '04 same for Adams except he is in the mid to high 80's, Dugas is also upper 80's and now has a full season of pitching under his belt, Cassidy is another RH who can bring it. Solid staff that can beat any team in this area. Blake is big for PNG not only his play but his leadership they need him at full strenght. BC is and will be tough, so is Lufkin Hudson who only lost 1 player Musik-LH, and Jasper returns a nice group of kids from a playoff team last year.

They also list as TOP D1 PROSPECTS from The Golden Triangle: Srs: Angelle-BC Harwood-PNG Mire-PNG Ehlert-LCM Dugas-LCM Jrs. Dishon-BC Now he clarifies this by saying the Kids listed are ones he has seen or has been reported to him by Pro or College scouts or HS coaches. There are many others in this area. All of those above were part of the Area Code Invitation this past summer.

BC, Again it did not kill us to loose to BC they were very good last year, but no one left just because of that. As far as you team this year no way they are better than last year to much to replace. Hayes ,Coulter, Stevens, Mire, Who do you have that can play SS and suck everything up like Coulter?? No one. I wish we were playing, maybe we can both win our districts and play a warm up game.........

Let me clear this whiney BS up about BC and the LCM tourney. #1 There is never a trophy or is there ever a trophy. Brenham never has one either. #2 Concessions where closed at 9:30pm!!! Yes they were, it was run by the Baseball Families as a fund raiser and we sold out all of the stuff we had. It had nothing to do with LCM not being in the final, And NO BC is lucky not to be playing us. Our coach ask them to fill in a game so we could at least play one and was turned down by Coach Bryant.

First Tourney is Feb 23-25 LCM has 4 Teams currently since BC pulled a last minute drop for no reason LCM,HJ,HF and Jasper. Probably a round robin and then a seeded single elimination final. First Games of the year can begin on Monday the 20th LCM opens the 21st at home against Livingston.

Jdawg, we will get to see each other at both tourney's and it should be fun.

BC will be good but man they have to replace Hayes,Myers,Coulter,Stevens.....lot's of offense. They are normally in our tourney but backed out at the last minute and then would not even work with us to schedule a game so the Baseball Rival of LCM and BC has ended. Look out for Vidor they beat us at the last district game last year, and Green has done alot foe that program.

PNG has pitching but question marks on the return of LH, He should be strong by District they are not dominating but could be. PNG needs to find offensive help for Buchanan and get better on defense. Nederland has a strong Pitcher returning Smith but needs to fill holes left by a very strong Sr. class. No doubt they will do it. LCM retuns 8 starters which includes the DH that should move to 3rd. The pitching staff will be much better than last year due to experience and could challenge PNG's as the best staff in the district. I give the early edge to LCM with PNG close and Nederland right there.
