  1. LCM has a good day scoring 23 runs and giving up 7. LCM 12 WOS 1: WP-Womack LP-Theriot HR Ehlert(4) 2B- Rowell,Boozer,Hughes Womack pitches 3 innings and Legget did a great job closing out the last 3 LCM 11 Jasper 6 WP-Dugas LP-#21 HR- Womack(1) 3B- Ehlert, Dugas 2B- Rowell 2,Womack,Adams,Ehlert,Cassidy Dugas goes 4 innings followed by Ehlert for 3
  2. LCM 14 Silsbee 2 WP- Cassidy LP- LH #3 HR- Ehlert(3) GS, and Lemoine(2) Bears started slow leaving 5 men on base in the first 2 innings but scored 7 in the top of 3rd and 5 in the top of 4th. Game was tied 2-2 after 2 innings.
  3. Admin I will bite!!! That kid can flat out go get it, and does it with no fear.
  4. I try not to get involved in "What if" things and I must say Big Red 99 said that they matched up better and had better players than LCM????? I love Angelle and think he is one of the top 2 in the area....I am a fan of Dishon, and I like Coleman..........but to say Jackson is as good as Rowell???? To say the OF for BC is Better than LCM's???????? Just not sure........... 5 players for LCM are 3 year Letter winners that started in the region championship as soph., BC has a few that started in the State Semi finals?? Sure wish your coach would not have pulled out the tourney or accepted our coach's offer to at least play a season game!!!!! Does that mean I think LCM is better than BC?? Let's just hope they both win District and then maybe a warmup game???? Should be a great matchup...
  5. Bears come out swinging tonight: 11-1 in 6 innings. WP- Adams LP- Roebuck Adams (3inn.) looked good and was followed by a nice 3 innings from Kyle Hughes. Rowell, Hughes, Ehlert, Cassidy 2 hits each along with Dugas who had 2 doubles.
  6. He does a good job, students include Derek Cloeren, Angelle, Harwood, Haymon,Dugas just to name a few. 409-779-1013 Sam Moore
  7. Day 2 and the final day for the Bears ended 1-2, Details: LCM 11 El Campo 7; WP-Dugas(1-0) Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead but the Ricebirds came back to take a 5-3 lead in the 4th. Adams was replaced by Dugas on the mound for the next 3, during that time the Bears got a GS HR by Ehlert(2) and doubles from Martin, Womack,Lemoine, and Dugas to take the lead 11-5. Schnieder stays hot with another 2 hit game. Martin replces Dugas to start 7th and finishes it off. Brenham 10 LCM 0; WP-Kankel LP- Dugas(1-1) This score does not do the game justice as it was a duel between the LH Kankel from Brenham and Dugas from LCM. At the end of 4 the game was 1-0 Cubs with both pitchers only giving up 1 hit. Kankel had 8 k's and Dugas had 6. Bears go to the pen and the Cubs got hot hitting a GS and a 2 run HR to finish the game. LCM 4 Santa Fe 5; Ehlert started this game and held the indians without a hit until the 4th, Bears put up a 3 spot in the third with back to back to back singles from Dugas, Schneider, and Lemoine followed by a sac. from Ehlert and rbi single from Rowell. Bears go to Womack in the 7th but indians rally to win. Bears are 8-4 and travel to HJ on Tuesday before opening up at the Jasper Tourney Thursday. The team is working hard but still searching for a spark to get them on a roll heading into District.
  8. Brenham 15 El Campo 0 Brenham 12 Texas City 0 Day 1 over
  9. LCM 2 Alvin 1 Great outing for Landon Womack (3-1) for 5 and 1/3 followed buy Ehlert for 1 and 2/3. Cassidy 2-3 with a double and Dugas with the GW RBI single were the only hits for the Bears. Aaron Lemoine had the defensive play of the year with 2 outs and a runner on 3rd, Alvin hitter poked one to shallow CF and Lemoine dove and caught it for the last out. Game 2 LCM 2 Texas City 7 Cassidy takes the loss after 3 innings and 7 hits. Bears have only 7 hits but leave about 8 runners on. Ehlert had his first HR in the bottom of the 1st.
  10. Adams (2-0) pitched 3 innings and gave up only 1 hit with 5 k's. He left the game with the Bears leading 5-0. And LCM never trailed. He was followed by Cassidy(1in.)Womack(1in.)Ehlert(1in) then Martin for 2/3's and Boozer for 1/3. And that is Cassidy's first HR in regular season, but he had 3 in the scrimmages. He is hitting well as is a number of our guys led by Schneider Lemoine, Ehlert and Dugas so far, but there is a long way to go and a big test ahead for the Bears.
  11. Some details on the 8-3 win by the Bears: WP Adams HR Cassidy Doubles- Lemoine, Adams Bears post a 4 spot in the bottom of the first powered by Cassidy's 3 run shot, hold a 5-0 led until the 5th when Crosby scores 3 but Bears answer back with another 3. Adams was followed by Cassidy,Womack,Ehlert, Martin and Boozer on the hill.
  12. The Roebuck kid that pitches is solid, he did not pitch against us but we watched him, the other Roebuck that plays 2nd is tough at the plate. I will tell you this HF is better than WOS, and HJ is right there. I was impressed with how hard HF played, solid lineup. This could be the best year in that district for baseball. LCM did struggle at the plate and the way we played I was amazed we were able to go 2-1 on friday. The kid from Jasper Alvis is as good as any in the area, great slider.
  13. The tourney went late last night as the Bears completed a triple header, long wet day: Game 1, LCM 2 Jasper 1 Great pitching duel between Alvis from Jasper and a Soph LH who's name I do not know. Bears battled with Ehlert,Dugas and Womack. Defensive highlight is a base's loaded no outs for Jasper, line drive to left and a Sliding catch by Sr. Slayde Martin who jumped up and threw out the runner at third for a DP. Game 2, HF 7 LCM 0 Bears are baffled at the plate with a great outing from #9 out of HF he kept the Bears off balance with a great CB all night. HF is a scrappy bunch and play well should be a solid challenge to BC in that district. Game 3, LCM 6 HJ 5 Another battle for the Bears P Kyle Cassidy went 4 inn. and I believe he had 10k's. HJ up 2-0 in the third when Sr. Dugas hit a 2run HR to tie it up. Bears down in the last inning 5-4 but load the bases and score 2 for the win. Nasty night ,wet . Bears advance to Championship and would face the winner of Jasper/HF but I believe all games today will be canceled.
  14. According to the LCM Baseball web page these two rivals will bring out the Alumni and play a 7 inning game begining at 3pm @ LCM.............. It may be just a alumni game but I bet they get after it........... Rumored Participants- LCM- Beau Hale, Jeremy Green, Josh Gray, Shaun Seago.....and many of the 1996 state finals team WOS- Rodrick Robertson,Tyler Thibodeaux, and many more......Patterson? LCM and WOS of 2006 will proceed them with a 14 inning scrimmage at 11:00 am. Everyone is welcome and there will be a concession stand full of food and drinks..........and we may stock BEN GAY!!!!!
  15. I really believe the community is still mad at Lamar for dropping football in a hot bed for HS football. Also let's look at the locals who actually play at Lamar......just a few, Baseball use to be the same until Gilligan started recruiting the local player. And #1 Factor is are they winning?????
  16. The atmosphere in the Bear Cave last night was one for the ages.......had to be over 2,000 in attendance. The student section was rockin' and the Vidor Pirate fans made sure we knew they were there. Coach Harley and his gang have made us very proud with a playoff appreance, the first since 2000 and I believe they will make some noise. A special note to Vidor......Noah Cole is a stud......not just as a player with skills, but a heart of a lion, and he never gave up until the final buzzer.
  17. Just as I stated that was a bad choice of words but there was 5 different players play in the middle for LCM last year: Green and Seago manned it for at least 3 years, therefore providing the great chemistry.
  18. I would assume Coleman moves to short and Hecker at 2nd, Meeks surely has the blood line for Pitching. And I would list Sparks at the DH spot as well.
  19. Again I completely agree with MIF04 about BC and the questions that need to be answered, and if they are look out for the Cardinals.........but what about the one thing we have overlooked???????? Pressure- TEAM PRESSURE The pressure of knowing you are ranked #1 in the state, the pressure of everyone giving you there best. Pressure- Indiviual Pressure Reading all the press clippings and possible getting a little uneasy. Can BC Handle the PRESSURES that go along with the distinct #1 ranking: I think so, Coach Bryant is about as laid back as they come and he is from the old school, played under the Great Chuck Young. I have also stated that if the Talent LCM has with it's 8 returning starters gets on a role and starts playing any where close to their ability......LOOK OUT!!!!! Same could be said for PNG. Injury bug- Remember it is the one thing that can take a team down fast, reports out of PNG indicate Blake B. is on his way back.....but also that they have lost Bryce Burnett for the season. Shoulder injury from FB. LCM and BC could only be 1 injury away from tons of ?????????????
  20. Ok I guess I have got to throw one out there: Pitchers- Ehlert-LCM, Harwood-PNG, Angelle-BC, Sparks-WOS Catcher- Rowell-LCM First Base- Womack-LCM 2nd Base- Ferguson-WB SS- Ayers-WOS 3rd- Laird- Ned Inf- Schnieder-LCM OF-Dishon-BC OF-Cole-PNG OF-Mosley-NED Utility( This is a player who plays multiple positions, not like the crazy selections last year for a player who played 1 spot) Dugas-LCM (will probably play LF,CF,SS,2nd,3rd and P) Powell-PNG (will probably play RF,1B and P) DH- Buchanan-PNG DH- C.Capels-OF
  21. Don't count out Brenham to win that district, they return more than Montgomery and while it is true Montgomery has the two pitchers (Heard,Stone) they lost some key defensive and offensive players. Brenham will be more balanced I believe. And on March 3rd the LCM Bears will get to see how good when they play Brenham in the tourney. Angelton will only go far in the playoffs if they can play a 1 game playoff, not much behind Hammock, Bears beat him last year. But with that being said 2nd place in 20-4a might be the place to be, but you know these teams no one wants second.
  22. COOP, That is Cody Sparks from BC going to Tulane, Not Eric huh?
  23. You could really see the carry over from the Ozen game for LCM they continued thier good play and if they can keep the same intensity than I say the only possible loss in round 2 will be at Ozen. And yes that means beating Central when they come to the Bear Cave. Vidor just has no help for the Amazing Noah........
