  1. If you want information on strike-outs or on-base percentage you can get clear numbers. What is a hit varies from different book keepers.I would not put to much stock in the averages or number of hits.
  2. Raines for Ned. had 11 against Livingston.
  3. Thanks Brubaker,I needed a good laugh!I think laying low suits this group well.If the Dogs can get through this week unbeaten they should be a top 25 team for sure.
  4. How about Buddy Davis for Ned. list.I think he played for some pro. championship teams.
  5. Big win by the Dogs ! What has been the most impressive thing to me,is the pitching staff has been awesome most of the year handled by a great catcher. Another impressive thing is the offensive production comes from all parts of the line - up.The leadership is handled as a group that seems to generate great chemistry for the Dogs.Looks like these guys have a good time together.Defense has been up and down but this seems to be the norm. for most high school teams these days. Can't wait to see the rest of the district race because I am pretty sure the Dogs will make it exciting! Go Dogs !
  6. Nederland's record is 8-1-1 Wins against Kelly,Santa Fe.Angleton,Brazoswood,Foster,Morton Ranch,Friendswood.Clear Lake Tied Jersey Village 1-1.Only loss to 5A Pearland. Thanks for thinking about us guys.Who knows we might be better off being the under-Dogs.
  7. I failed to mention the 10-2 win against Clear Lake was a 8 run rule after 5 inn victory.Go Dogs!
  8. I think Nederland has surprised a lot of people.Wins over Kelly,Santa Fe,Brazoswood,Angleton,Foster.Morton Ranch,Friendswood and Clear Lake.I do not think anyone has played a tougher schedule than Nederland. Also a tie 1-1 to Jersey Village and a beat down by Pearland. This team can pitch and hit very well. Both were big ? marks about this team. They have proven that they can play the low scoring game and the slug-fest.I am very pleased what I have seen from the Dogs after the first two tournaments!
  9. Feltman has been a warrior behind the plate.A lot of the pitching staffs success should be credited to Feltman. He also carried a very nice average for the tournament.
  10. Side-notes,Michael Shaw had a nice coming out showing in the Clear Creek going 3-4 in the tournament.Aaron Sampere carried a very nice slugging percentage. He had a triple and two doubles and was robbed of another game winning double.Jordan Wood carried a nice on-base-percentage for the tournament and was 3-3 in sac-fly opportunities. All the way thru the order the Dogs are doing a great job. These are just a few things that stood out to me in the tournament.Sanderson and Raines had dominating performances and several others had nice outings but with-out a doubt Beau Stewart was the most pleasant surprise winning 2 games against two very solid baseball programs.
  11. Does anyone know where to find all of the game results for the Clear Creek ISD  Tournament?
  12. Beau Stewart started the game against Clear Lake that was 3-1 in the tournament until today. He worked both sides of the plate very well only walking one batter in 4 innings of work.Beau had two very impressive outings.Raines closed the game and was flat-out nasty!Mitchell Sanderson led the Dogs offensive attack collecting 3 hits today.Seven other players collected one hit a piece.Ned. put together some impressive at bats fouling off several tough pitches and drawing walks. The Dogs are good about putting the ball in play. They seldom strike-out.The final score was Dogs 10 Lake 2.This Dogs team does not have a "wow" factor about it but they sure know how to "WIN".They have proven they can win low scoring games and slug-fest.Just a Blue-Collar team that pitches well and put the ball in play.Kind of funny last year the Dogs were at the top of the Home Run list but did not win very many games. This year they are at the bottom of the list but have a very impressive record.
  13. Preston White started game against Friendswood.A umpire with a tight strike zone high skies and high winds it was easy to see it was going to be a high scoring affair.Preston worked his way through a few tough innings and gave way to Bret Smith that pitched a short stint. The score was tied 7-7 when Beau Stewart took charge. When I say he took charge he shut them down for three innings. The Dogs prevailed with a 12-7 victory.Ramoine started the second game against Pearland.Pearland had about five or six D-1 caliber players on their squad.Sam Smith relieved Ramoin and was effective one trip through the line up but the second trip was not so good.First time Nederland has been out-matched this year.Pearland won 11-2.Dogs offense was lead by Jordan Wood today.Michael Shaw had a nice showing with a bunt single and a smoked double to left-center against Pearland. What I like about Nederland this year is in winnable games they are finding a way to WIN! This staff is short Carson Raines and Korbin Stampley due to injuries and is 2-1-1 in a very tough tournament.Hope they keep fighting and finding a way to win! Go Dogs!
  14. Jersey Village starting pitcher going to U Houston was hitting 92 on the gun.Sanderson was hitting 91.Village catcher on full ride to Oklahoma. The catch the center-fielder made with the bases loaded to keep the Dogs from winning the game should get him a ride to LSU[ Lucky Sucker University] just kidding it was a awesome catch on Sampere's drive.Sampere rebounded with two big doubles that were key hits in the win against Morton Ranch.Nevala pitched against Ranch but was a victim of very poor defense by the Dogs.Clark relieved in both games and Ramoine also relieved against Ranch.Dogs carrying on the tradition of the football team by finding a way to win close games.Pitching and hitting are great but the Dogs are going to tighten up the defense to win the 20-4a district title.Go Dogs!
  15. Nederland looked great in the Santa Fe tournament.Dogs went 4 and 0 defeating Santa Fe,Angleton,Brazoswood and Foster.Pitching and hitting were great and the guys looked like they were having fun! Chemistry looks great for Nederland.Dogs scored 28 runs in the tournament and only allowed 10.Pretty Impressive!
  16. Santa Fe tournament was a five team round-robin format.Game 1 Dogs 12 Santa Fe 7 Game 2 Dogs 5 Angleton 0 Game 3 Dogs 8 Brazoswood 1 Game 4 Dogs 3 Foster 2 Nederland swept the tournament.
  17. Aaron Sampere played great defense at first base and had a big clutch hit against Santa Fe to give the Dogs the lead.Sanderson and Raines stuff were pretty nasty today! The rest of the staff has pitched great also.Having that many quality arms for tournament play is fun to watch!
  18. Brandon Self and Cody Creuder also had nice at bats with limited plate appearances for the Dogs.
  19. Dogs win the Santa Fe tournament!!! Ned. beat Brazoswood 8-1.Preston White gave up 1 run in 5 innings and Sam Smith came in and closed the show. Dogs beat Foster 3-2.Carson Raines pitched 4 innings allowing 1 run. Bret Smith threw a inning and a half and Mitchell Sanderson came in and closed the show.Jordan Wood led the offensive attack for the Dogs followed closely by Gabe Nevala and Tyler Spell.Seth Barrow,Brian Feltman and Mitchell Sanderson were victims of good defensive plays but hit the ball hard.Ned's pitching was great for the tournament.Hitting and run production was very good.Outfield play was nice but the infield play will have to improve.I like what I see so right now!If the infield play improves 20-4a better watch-out! Starting the season 5 and 0 is very nice!
  20. Ramoine and Clark pitched against Santa Fe.Nevala threw six against Angleton and Raines closed the seventh.
  21. Dogs played sloppy defense against Santa Fe.Fell behind 3-0 early but busted out with the bats to score 12.Dogs beat Santa Fe 12-7. Dogs rebounded with good defense to beat Angleton 5-0.Dogs play Brazoswood at 1:00 and Foster at 3:30
  22. Another 7 innings of shut-out baseball for the Dogs. That makes 22 innings in a row with-out a run scored.Pitching and defense will keep you in any game and Nederland has been doing a good job of it lately.Dogs win 3-0 against Kelly.
  23. 15 innings of shut-out baseball against Lufkin and WestBrook is very impressive! No pitcher threw more than three innings for the Dogs.Robbins really shows his strength as a coach when you can roll out that many pitchers and have all of them on top of their game.I know pitching is always ahead of hitting early in the season but I am very happy to see the Dogs playing good defense behind quality pitching this early.Hitting is coming around.Dogs only scored 2 runs against Lufkin.Dogs hit Lufkins pitching very well but some failed sac. bunt attempts hurt run production.Dogs scored about 8 runs against WestBrook. It was a very impressive offensive performance  led by Seth Barrow who I think was only put out twice in two games.Several other Dogs had two or three hits on the day.It was fun to watch the Dogs play so well today!
