Just got word that Nederland and Hutto series going to be played at Baseball USA.Teams were worried about bad weather and Baseball USA has a all turf infield and drains very well.Games Fri.and Sat.

First hand info. from a senior but I do agree the kid is very talented and may have not been feeling well that day.One thing is for sure is the Dogs will reload instead of rebuild next year!

The Dogs and Hippos will play at Magnolia Fri.at 7:30 or 7:00.Game 2. Sat. at 2:00 at Magnolia also.

Heard Dogs are playing in New Caney Fri.at 7:00 Sat. also at New Caney.Does anyone know what time game two starts?

I have watched every Nederland game but one.I believe that 75% of the games they played in especially early in the season the wind was blowing in pretty hard.The dogs hit some shots that would have carried out if not for the wind.As for as the kid that was not brought up.I do know when he ran triangles with the varsity he was the only player that did not meet the time required for all of the team to finish conditioning.I know the seniors were pretty upset with his effort.Might of had something to do with him not being moved up.I know he is very talented but the coach has to worry about chemistry.If the younger players faced the same pitching as varsity players in unfriendly hitting conditions the homerun totals would be close IMO and you probably would see higher strike-out totals. 

My prediction was that Nederland would win some close games and move on to the next round.I think Raines has to get back into the rotation for Nederland to win the next series.Having a stud like Mitchell Sanderson is the reason the Dogs are moving on.That along with Ramoine's effort last night followed by great third base play today.I do not feel like Nevala had his best stuff in this series but competed and looked like Houdini at times.The Dogs have played close games this year and won most of them.Hope they can keep the magic going.Keep finding a way to win dogs.P.S.It was not all pitching that won the series Feltman and Sampere with big homeruns and hitting for the series along Wood,Raines and Broussard who carried good averages for the series.Time to go hunt Hippos!

When Dayton and Summer Creek played it had to look like an episode of Jerry Springer.

Hitting Raines around the shoulders after the Wood two out double was wrong.Followed by the runner trying to take out the catcher was wrong.But comments from Dayton 101 is "priceless" can you say cry baby!

Dayton only opened the door twice that I can remember.A missed pick-off throw and a wild pitch moved runners to second base.Dogs could not come up with the clutch hits to drive them in.Dayton was the better team last night.Just glad the Dogs have a chance to show what they are made of at home.

Both pitchers pitched great.IMO the 2 runs would not have scored with out two high throws.One on a steal of third base and the another on a sacrifice bunt.

Nederland's hitting is taking a lot of heat for the loss.The hitting conditions ,with cold high winds blowing in, were terrible.Nederland set up Dayton's runs with two high throws from fielders and they took advantage of the mistakes.Nederland had just as many hits as Dayton but did not make Dayton pay for their mistakes.With out the two bad throws I feel like it would have been a 0-0 game going into the seventh.Great job by Dayton's pitcher only giving up one free pass with a hit batter and keeping the ball out of the happy zone most of the game.Hope Nederland's hitters get out of their comfort zones at the plate and make adjustments to pitchers or they will have plenty of time being comfortable at home watching the rest of the play-offs.

Dayton did a great job getting a win at their place.Dayton's pitcher kept the ball low and away most of the night and the umpire was giving it to him.Ned. hitters kept coming back to the dug-out complaining about the strike zone instead of moving in and forcing him to come inside.I expected more from this group.Nederland better pick up the intensity tomorrow or Dayton will be enjoying a little pay back for football season!

I heard from a source that Dayton football players do not play baseball.Would like to hear from Dayton fans on the #of football players that are playing baseball.Nederland has several football players playing baseball.Just curious not looking to make fun of anybody.

Nederland has 4 losses on the season.Two of them to 5A top ten teams and 1 run losses to the second and third place district finishers.Last year, Nederland found a way to lose games.This years senior heavy team has played a lot of close games and found a way to win most of them.Fun to watch teams that have confidence in close games.I look for this to be a good series with the Dogs winning some close games to move on to the next round.

The second game at Nederland will be out of the ordinary with NW winds at 20 mph predicted for Friday.

B.H. the favorite in this one.That being said,the worst thing the eagles could do is go into this match up over confident.LCM has good pitching and a solid line up.If the bears come out of hibernation they have a coach that is play-off tested and could make this a very good match up.LCM is not your typical 4 seed.

A freshman on that baseball team would be a STUD on the cross-country team his sophmore year!

A big factor on defense will be the recovery effort by Leon Mayfield.If he loses speed and mobility it will really hurt the Dogs.Keep working hard Leon!

Had more time to think about it.Even if the bases loaded squeeze is a success you have runners at second and third with two outs.Pitcher can be cautious with the next batter with first base open.I think the bases loaded squeeze gives the defense the best chance to get out of trouble with no damage or limited damage.

With bases loaded chance for success is lowered because there is no tag play involved.A walk will get you a run.I love the first and third squeeze play with one out or any time with a runner at third only and one out.With the game tied.A hit blows the game open. 

Way to refuse to lose Dogs!Great job by Carson Raines and Brian Feltman with two huge clutch doubles!Great pitching by both staffs.Each team only scored 4 runs in 23 innings.Great job by PNG applying pressure to the Dogs.With failed squeeze executions, errors and cross ups by the pitcher this group is to stubborn to give in.Keep finding a way to win Dogs!     

I think this is the first time I have never seen a Nederland and PNG thread for a game as big as this one.Everyone must be a little nervous.I can not wait till game time.
