  1. Josh Pratt , Thanks for your explanation.Good luck with the site.
  2. Nederland beat Foster Falcons head up and beat Friendswood  twice that just beat Goose Creek and have lost less games than both of them. What gives!
  3. I agree with black to black but I have seen several umpires that look like they are in a hurry to get home.If you call pitches three inches off the outside edge it will result in a quick game.Only players that like or love a big zone are the pitchers.2 players happy 16 P.O.
  4. Mr.Ump1,I am happy that baseball has gone to the BBCOR bats.I personally know two pitchers that the decision may have saved their lives. That being said,I think the strike-zone by umpires should shrink on the outside corner. With the pre-BBCOR bats a player could hit the ball off the end of the bat and the ball would still jump. Not so with the BBCOR.Players have to move in on the plate to get the sweet spot on the ball.Pitchers start to come inside more which causes more injuries in the game.It kind of defeats the purpose of BBCOR bats.I umpired about twenty years ago and I know it is hard to change your zone.Curious of your thoughts.P.S. Taking away the outside corner would also recover some of the run production lost by the dead bats.
  5. Bedelmon,I can handle different points of view but when you start saying people are on crack and others are hanging outside malls I feel like you cross the line.Sorry about my response it may have been a little harsh.I do not think you are a bad person.I do think you need to control your passion and personal attacks.Good luck with the umpires the rest of the season.
  6. Rounder if you looked at Bedelmon post you can see it has been edited. So you might want to PM this real nice person you think you are protecting and see how sick that person is.You and I have had our differences but I have not lowered myself to name calling.
  7. Bridge City year in year out would compete for the title in 20-4a.Silsbee comes up with a squad that could make a run every now and then. They have a very good team this year.I believe Nederland would handle them both at this point of the season.I believe Ned. would take them 7 out of 10 games.I bet this is getting under your skin.Neither won of us can prove what we believe. Why can't you just be happy with being successful in 3-A.As for as doing well in a scrimmage you might want to talk to the Dayton football team about how Nederland competes win it counts!
  8. You are a sad person Bedelmon. You might want to take advantage of Sunday and pray for forgiveness. If you are a role model I feel sorry for your kids!
  9. HorseMan Bridge City and Silsbee have great teams this year. But please do not stir the pot about how they would beat a lot of 4-A teams.I am sure Nederland and PNG would beat a lot of 5-A teams. Our fourth place team in 20-4a LCM beat Silsbee and Bridge City earlier this season. There is no way to prove your point so it is best not to make that kind of statement.
  10. H J was spanked by WOS with a bunch of "Texas League pop ups" .Then they were getting beat by just about everyone in District because Duplant was not starting games. When he starts and they lose the game it was the umpires fault. When someone tries to point out that bad calls are part of every game,Bedelmon says they are on crack. At what point can H J fans just accept that the kids are under achieving.Looks like the wheels have fell off over there and H J fans are looking for excuses.
  11. Big win for the for the Dogs.Keep finding a way to win!The catcher #27 for LCM is one of the best catchers at blocking the ball I have ever seen.I do not remember seeing a ball get by him with runners on in the two games LCM played against the Dogs.Great pitching for both teams terrible that any of them have to take a loss.Great job by Jared Ramoine  holding LCM score less for six innings.
  12. Anyone who saw Ramoine for Nederland pitch against LCM would see that he is pretty salty also.
  13. Nederland- Raines,Angelina J.C. Sanderson has offers,Nevalla has signed PNG-Ashworth,Alabama LeDeoux very goo lefty Leckich good also.Lumberton's White lefty very good.LCM Humphrey,Lamar Swan 90 plus Vidor Big John 90 plus Foshee very good Livingston Lantrip U of Houston,Ozen,Chambers very good lefty 20-4a loaded with quality pitching!Could use some help to list where the others have signed with.
  14. Razor the third run was Sanderson"s double that scored Tyler Spell was courtesy running. It was a big hit by Feltman right after the sac. bunt attempt failed.Sanderson's ability to get strike-outs in big situations was huge last night.Striking out the side in the seventh was a ! on his outing.Hitting and pitching Sanderson has been clutch!
  15. Great post Razor I could not agree with you more. The big difference in this game was Robbins  gamble on a shallow fly ball to send Barrow with two outs.I thought it was a great aggressive decision and ended up being the difference in the game.Livingston had the same situation late on a little bit deeper fly ball and decided to play it safe. The decision did not pay off.Another note.I do not know if there is a tougher ball park to hit during night games. The poor lighting tall mound and lights on behind the center field wall makes Livingston a pitchers paradise.
  16. Great game by both pitchers. Each team had a couple of defensive errors that led to runs but both pitchers limited the damage. It was a very good ball game to watch because the home plate umpire made the pitchers throw the ball over the plate. He did not give a big outside corner and the pitchers were still good enough to rack up a lot of strike-outs.I have seen all of the Dogs games this year and IMO the home plate umpire was the best I have seen. Big win for the Dogs hope they can keep rolling.
  17. Carson Raines with another impressive outing. For a guy that had a couple of wisdom teeth removed earlier this week he showed no sign of weakness. The situational hitting in the first inning for the Dogs is what it takes to win these types of games.Nice to have starters like Sanderson and Raines that can dominate games!
  18. The teams that have pitchers who can dominate games will be the play-off teams. From what I have seen no team in 20-4a has a line-up that keeps pressure on pitchers.I do not know If 20-4a has ever had so many quality pitchers from top to bottom.Central is probably the only team that does not have a pitcher that could pitch at the next level.A lot of the teams have two or more.Old saying good pitching beats good hitting is going on in 20-4a.From the looks of the scores team batting averages have to be pretty low.The teams that play good defense behind their aces will get in the play-offs.
  19. Raines went 5.Nevalla 1.Ramoine 1.It was a very impressive performance by the Dogs.Six players had a multi-hit game. Not sure of total number of hits.Pretty sure it was over 15.Pitching has been solid. It was nice to see the offense have a bust-out performance.
  20. Sam Smith pitched the last inning.Sanderson,Clark and Smith combined no-hitter
  21. How many losses will the district or co-district teams have.If there is a single champ I think 2.If it is a Co-Championship I think 3
  22. Does anyone have the combined strike-outs for both teams.Has to be one heck of a number. If the umpire gives the pitchers a big outside corner like he did last night, hitters are going to have a hard time swinging it.I will have to say that he was pretty consistent.
  23. Well pitched game by both teams.Congrats to PNG on the win.IMO if Ned. hitters do not get out of their comfort zones at the plate and make the adjustment to move in on the plate and take the outside part away and force the crafty lefties to come inside it is going to be a very frustrating district play for the Dogs. When they make a mistake outside there is not much you can do with it.I f they make a mistake inside you can make them pay! It also takes most lefties ( that can't throw over 85 ) out of their comfort zones to work inside.Dogs were dominated at the plate and still almost found a way to win the game.Keep competing hard and everything will work out in the end.Go Dogs!
