Lots of new faces this year! Great opportunity for a lot of guys.

I do not have the exact final, but Woodville won by 30ish.

I didn't get the final scores, but I know it was a rough day.

Kountze returned 1 player from last years team, and he averaged about 4 minutes a game of court time. There are 4-5 kids walking the halls that would have a tremendous impact, and likely would have gotten them the 3 seed/4 seed at worst. As far as the future goes, Kountze will be just fine. 6-7 years ago, Kountze had a 3-27 seasons (roughly), even the Sells led group missed the playoffs as Freshman and Sophomores. I don't think Kountze has another run as dominate as last year's' team in the foreseeable future, but they are going to field some pretty dang good teams sooner than later. The 7th-8th grade groups will have a pretty good mesh of players. It's obviously premature to project much further than that, but the 4th-6th graders have a very talented group of kids.

HJ led 27-26 at the half. It felt like they were in good control of the game at that point. Nederland went absolutely crazy from 3 in the 3rd quarter to pull ahead 50-38. HJ closed the gap to 6 in the 4th but Nederland was able to stretch it back out again with the 3. Idk the official stats but from watching the game Nederland had to have shot 50%+ from behind the arc.

I’m sitting right behind the Kountze bench and right in front of the Paradise main fan section. They do not like the physical defense being played.

After a 2-11 start from the field, Kountze ends the half 15-31 and 7-13 from 3. 7 offensive rebounds and 7 steals. Sells has 17 and Donald had 17

We are about to enter the building. I don’t think the doors open until 10, but I think they are about to let us in early

I don't know what the numbers for 1A and 2A schools, but I think 3A needed to split. Whether they do it before district or after the regular season, idk. Kountze has 333 students compared to Orangefield has 541. Having a 200+ student differential is a major advantages for the school that hover on the 4A line.
