Given up 11 runs (2.75 per game) Tigers have scored 80 runs in their 7 district games (11.4 per game). This leads 21-3A.
AAW and any other Silsbee folks, you know I mean absolutely zero disrespect to Silsbee but I just wanted to see what your take (or anyone else's take for that matter) would be on a random thought. There is no doubt that Silsbee has the best offense in the district, anybody with good sense has to agree on that. One thing that perhaps gets lost in the stats and numbers is the fact Silsbee folows BC through the district schedule and that has greatly affected the pitching that other teams have thrown against the Tigers. For example, Silsbee has played OF twice and hasn't seen Smith yet or Gunstream for any amount of innings or at all. Played WOS without seeing Aidan Anderson. Played Buna without seeing Clark. Played HF without seeing Herring or Johnson and HJ never started Duplant or Edelmon against the Tigers either. If you flip that around and look at BC they've seen almost all of those guys except Duplant and Johnson. Plus BC got Powell (Silsbee) in their first game. If you compare the matchups there is a sizeable difference. In all reality it really may not make that big of a difference because the Tigers swing it that well but it's just another tidbit to generate conversation. If I made a mistake about the pitchers that have thrown against the Tigers I apologize in advance, I went from memory and you know how that goes sometimes. ;D Rake1
WoW So your saying that the pitchers BC faced are better than the pitchers Silsbee faced. I bet those pitchers have a little bit to say about that.  Silsbee thinks they all are good and approach the game that way. They take on each pitcher the same way they are all good in their own way. Just have to figure that particular pitcher out.
I don't even know how to respond to this? Did you read it before you posted? Rake1
Yep
An honest question for you, nothing sarcastic implied... Don't you think it's a little different figuring a guy out who throws 85 with a good breaking ball compared to another one who throws 75? If they were all the same then coaches wouldn't care who they put up on the hill. Rake1
 3. I'm not knocking Silsbee at all, in fact I believe I said in the above post that "there is no doubt Silsbee is the best offense in the district". I just asked a question or put a statement out there and offered up a statistic to for comparison that I honestly believe is self explanatory. Not saying it's right or wrong, just purely up for debate or conversation. I'm not going to get into a "who is better, my team rules your team stinks" conversation because I have way too many friends that I respect that are from Silsbee. I'm just trying to have a decent baseball conversation. Rake1

 7.
When I am wrong, I am man enough to admit it. I was wrong in posting what I did on a public forum. I played high school baseball 33 years ago and some of the thing that go on today did not happen back then. I guess I will have to get use to it. In no way shape or form was I trying to discredit the BC Coach or its program. I don't even know the man. My message came across wrong and for that I am sorry.
Anybody willing to make a public apology is okay in my book. No hard feelings Solo. Rake1
 8.
Lets see how much money does Jose Altuve make?  I am sure it is way more than any high school or college player. Is that the best example you can give?
How many more examples would you like? On TV now..... Check Fox Sports Pacific Arizona State at Texas Tech or Fox Sports Atlantic Mississippi at Florida HAPPENS EVERY INNING!! None of those guys on base or batting when the 3rd out is made except the catcher goes back in the dugout to get gear or put up helmets or bats. They leave it on the field or give it to a base coach. Get over it!!! What else can I do to help you understand this game called baseball? Rake1
 9.
Really Rake, you must be the head coach. Like I told you before never been to a a little leauge game but if you guys shape your game after professionals or the college sports than that is sad. At one time I thought high school sports was the puriest form of athletics, I guess I was wrong. Baseball is not the only sport. By the way I never back down from anything. Maybe you should try your luck and see. ;D
You already backed up off your original statements once your theory was proven wrong and an explanation was offered. I have never changed my statement and offered up plenty of reasons to support it. You on the other hand refuse to address the original issue where you called out BC players for what "you and your little league coalition" perceived to be disrespectful when in fact it was a brand of baseball that was completely over your head. Again I'll tell you to go ask someone who knows the game and you will again be proven wrong. And as far as backing up or trying my luck with you, not a problem at all, BC's schedule is posted and I'll be at all of them. Rake1
 10. Someone alert the media!!!! Jose Altuve for the Houston Astros just left his batting helmet for the 3rd base coach to take back to the dugout!! HOW DISRESPECTFUL AND ARROGANT!!! Isn't that right Riding Solo?? Rake1
 11.
Sorry Rake Rake Rake have not been Enlightened just yet. My guess is you have a son that playes on the team. Never been to a little league game so you are wrong about me, matter of fact my kids are grown. Actually my deal is not about BC but schools in general. I sat up in the stands and listened to little league coaches and they said and I quote, they would have their pitchers plunk a kid for what went on in that game. You can say what you want but that goes on all the time and in the system, Little league or varsity. They learn from the professional sports.
Oh and by the way, what would your reason be for plunking the batter in that situation? I know why older guys do it, just curious why they do it in little league? Someone steal the dip-n-dots or make a mean face? Rake1

You listened to little league coaches, you gotta be kidding me!! Go watch college guys or pro's, they don't run to the dugout, put their stuff up, get their glove and hat, and then run out on the field to play defense, it doesn't happen. I'll try and type it slow so you can understand better if that's even possible, it's "picking up your fellow player". You, Riding Solo, made this thread about BC players with your comments about their "arrogance" don't start crawfishing now. I explained in detail about why those players do what they do and you still can't comprehend the concept. By your earlier comments about taking what "little league" coaches said you have not only proven my point for me but provided everyone who reads this a glimpse of how short sighted you really are. I guess next you'll be mad that at the end of the games all the parents don't run out and make a tunnel for the players to run through on their way to get a juice box. Catch a clue!! These guys learn from their coach and "real baseball minds" will agree they play the right way. For you and your "little league comapdre's" keep thinking the other way and remain in the minority. Or, better yet, go ask another coach if they think BC is disrespectful. My money says you'll be sorely disappointed in the answers you get. In the mean time "juice boxes and snow cones for everyone" courtesy of Riding Solo and his Little League coaching coalition. Ridiculous. If you don't want to be enlightened quit making foolish statements! And stand by your original comments, backing up because you've been proven to be wrong or made to look foolish is weak. Rake1

Please share with the crowd........we are all waiting for you to enlighten us. 8) Rake1
You don't have to wait long Rake. I guess we will just have to see about the post season. Maybe they will prove me wrong but what I saw against WOS was a average team at best. Not bent at the loss no indeed, BC was suppose to win Right!!!!! Now as far as the kids, I could see they were not happy with the umpire, one kid dropped his bat on home plate after a ball four count. Why not walk down the line and toss it near the dugout. He was pissed at the umpire and showed it. One more thing I noticed a kid on first base ran to second but the out was made and the end of the inning. He put his helment on second base and the head coach ran over there and got it. Sorry man but I have a problem with this. So there you go Rake I enlightened you. :P
You got it all wrong! To the point of being laughable almost. BC is taught  after the 3rd out to be in position to play defense in 10 seconds or less, they practice this regularly after school. Other players in the dugout are responsible for bringing hats and gloves to a batter or baserunner who are left on the field, it's a hustle mentality and how the game should be played. As far as dropping the bat on the plate that's not showing the ump disrespect, it's leaving a bat for the next guy to use if he so chooses which happens more often than not. These guys have taken on the personality of their coach and that's to play wide open and to play the game the right way. BC has played other teams and have seen guys throw helmets, bats, and other gear in disgust without any repercussion. I can assure you THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN WHILE Chad Landry is coaching. You have read way too much into this subject and showed you have no clue about how baseball is played. Stay at the little league park where your knowledge for the game is best suited. You, Riding Solo, have now been enlightened. Rake1
 14.
Whoever gets 2cd would have to play #1 Sweeny in the 2cd round if they get past the 1st. This next BC vs Silsbee game looks to be another huge game
No doubt the next BC vs Silsbee game will be a big one but lets not get ahead of ourselves, plenty of baseball to be played before that happens. Big stretch coming up starting Friday with 4 games in 7 days. A little tougher road for Silsbee being that all 4 are district games and only 3 of 4 are district games for BC, but either way 4 games is 4 games for your pitching staff. Another thing to consider is that all this talk about BC/Silsbee is a little disrespectful to Orangefield, they just have 1 loss as well and are still right in the thick of it. The 2nd half of the season will be full of opportunities for other teams to be the spoiler and you can bet they'll play that way so hold on to your seats. It's hard to imagine that some pitchers like Anderson (WOS), Duplant or Edelmon (HJ), Johnson or Herring (HF) will not get hot at some point and be a factor in the final standings. It's gonna be a wild ride, don't miss it. Rake1

 16. "Rips in the gaps"???? What game were you watching? The HJ 3B torched one to left and 2 others were hit hard, everything else was a dying quail to right field. HJ did have several good AB's against Guidry, no denying that. And yes Guidry was scheduled to come out of the game at some point so Shugart and or Macfarland could throw. Even if Guidry had gotten out of the 6th he would not have thrown the 7th due to pitch count. I know it's pointless to try and explain this but at least I tried. Feel free now to give us the "woulda shoulda coulda HJ version." Rake1

He had 114 pitches. Wasn't knocked out of the game. What a tard!
Oh, I see how this works now!!! If it's hits against your team, like that 14-1 loss to WOS  :o, those hits are (and I quote) "Texas Leaguers". But if those same "hits" come from your team you "knocked the pitcher out". Impressive. I like the capability you show to spin it in your favor, bright future in politics if you can keep that up. If that's what helps you put a silver lining on it then more power to you. Rake1
 18. Who's your team sending out to the hill tonight? Any great match ups on the schedule? Rake1
 19. I agree with AAW, that one was mighty tough last night. A few thoughts.... 1. Powell threw a heck of a game, that's a real bright spot going forward for the Tigers. 2. Lost in the shuffle is how well Guidry pitched, especially getting out of some really tough situations. Despite giving up the hits he only got hit hard twice, several of the Tiger hits were just great AB's on their part and they put the ball in play. Tip of the cap to both sides. 3. Errors continue to plague both sides, these 2 teams are going to be really good once they get lined out defensively. 4. Each team had several chances to put the game away and couldn't. Silsbee never got the big inning going after having plenty of traffic on the bases. BC couldn't finish the game in the 7th with a 2 run lead. Those are just examples. 5. Miscues that lead to extra opportunities by both teams was the deciding factor. BC's fielding errors were well documented and Silsbee dropped a couple of fly balls. Giving good teams extra chances often comes back to haunt you. Definitely a playoff type atmosphere at the park last night and a great game to watch as the momentum shifted several times. For the Tiger players, especially those I am close to, keep your heads up because there is a lot of baseball left to play. Congrats to my Cardinals for figuring out a way to win, especially when you didn't play your best. Looking forward to the next game between these two good teams, hopefully it will be as entertaining as this last one was. Rake1
 20. Any truth to the rumor circulating that the Silsbee Booster club has paid for security to patrol the sub station that controls the lights at BC's field?? ;D In the words of Larry The Cable Guy.. Forgive me Lord and bless the little pygmies. That's funny, I don't care who you are! Just kidding! Y'all know I love my Tiger folks! Rake1
 21.
Whoever gets to the other teams bullpen first, will win this game.
With all due respect to Rounder17, I don't know if that idea works either? BC's bullpen may be slightly deeper but that's almost a coin toss. Each staff goes several players deep in the pen and they can all get the job done. Silsbee does have 1 advantage with pitching for this game and that is they don't have to think about a pitcher for Friday since they don't have a game. Rake1

That pitcher also had closed the game before so his pitch count was up.  All the remaining 9 runs were scored on guys that are not even considered pitchers. This will be a good game.  I am sure the Tigers respect BC and Guidry but they are not worried.
???? What did I miss??? Rake1
You know me Rake...... I can't stand stupid assessments....
How was it a stupid assessment?..... That game is the only thing we can compare these two teams on....
BC and Silsbee both have some comparable opponents on their pre-season schedule, that would be another way to compare them thus far. Livingston, Lumberton, Huntsville, Woodville, Huntington, Buna and LCM come to mind. Silsbee has a better record against common opponents even if it's in tourney situations, that's hard to ignore. BC does own the head to head comparison this season so far regardless of who pitched, but there is still a bunch of baseball to be played. Whoever wins this game still has plenty of work to do in order to secure a district title this season, it will still be far from over. Rake1
