The activities done during school time are subject to the hour per week rule. Also the practice/scrimmage at 5pm was run by parents. No coaches were present, just like fall ball. Official practice started Friday just like everyone else. Rake1

Just so we can shut this down right now before any more “genius” comments get made. The practice in question was part of the normal amount of hours given for each week to each sport, nothing more. Bridge City started regular season after school practice on Friday like everyone else. Period. Rake1

Not sure what you are referring to? I’m a Bobcat fan and I think we got our share of calls as well. The tag play at the plate was correct, the runner was tagged on the back. The balk call was questionable because it looked so out of the ordinary. I don’t think there was a move toward the plate by the pitcher but there was also a double clutch before the pick. OF benefitted from 3 check swing calls that were not called strikes. To say the umps caused OF to lose is disrespectful to Coach Terrier and the Cougars, they played well and deserved to win. It just wasn’t OF’s night. Rake1
