The education is out of the ADs control. But across all sports we are severely struggling. Since we don't have the education that is up to current standards. It makes it all more important for some of these kids to get an athletic scholarship. They need that as a way out. Unfortunately there are too many stories of kids that didn't get that opportunity and are still here. Even 2 from last years team that didn't make it thru the summer without catching a case.

Actually that was HC DRH and DC CT. I was at that game. Long ride back to Orange on those old busses. But a lil background should also be included. That was the week that most all seniors walked off and quit. Instantly moving up many sophomores, my classmates. So many starting their first varsity game against a formidable powerhouse. Jasper put it on us 41-0. We barely beat BC the next week 24-21. Then a 1 pt loss to Vidor. And losing to PNG and NED in district too. But still went to the 2nd round. The next 2 seasons that same class of 99 led us to the playoffs before losing to La Marque in 97 and Silsbee in 98.

Thats exactly what it is. Just take the rebuild year and find a way to improve the young talent each week. Bobcats will be back to normal soon. Maybe try to get WOS on the schedule for next year. Could be a big confidence booster for the program.

Thanks for the clarification. Not that it makes it any better. But then the question of WhY didn't they hire him? Must've had higher expectations than what they believed was his ceiling. And now we've made them look like geniuses for not giving him the opportunity to lead his alma mater. Of course there always gonna be those fans that can remain positive thru the storm. Only lost by 6 and 4 to state ranked opponents. Some programs would love that. Man if only we would've done this or that. We could've won either if them. Or both. And that's the problem. Being so close. To see how our kids have tried to follow the plan set by the staff. Nothing but respect for the Eagles. The coaching staff for Newton was assembled by a great leader. I know a few that say the young coach wouldn't get it done. But he seems very improved since the welcome to WOS 70-0 game.
