  1. "H-town where our stadiums drop the top"... at&t was the first roof stadium up there. Rangers just got their's last season. We need indoor practice facilities down here. My LCM peeps haven't heard anything official yet.
  2. I'd say the same thing about Jasper since it's been a while too. But this year I'm also looking forward to LCM.
  3. It was definitely that. I like how he brought up the biblical comparison, and them both being major impact sites. Maybe that explains this...
  4. @Hagar, did you see the season finale yet?
  5. Gotcha... they put women in a position to be seen by the targeted demographics. "Sex sells"
  6. Congratulations [Hidden Content] Round 4, 121st overall: Chad Dallas, RHP, Tennessee Notable Skill: Dallas added a cutter recently and it quickly became his best pitch, giving right-handed hitters fits. That pitch sits in the mid-80s behind his fastball, which sits 90-94 mph but has touched 98 mph. At 5-foot-11 and 206 pounds, Dallas doesn’t have the traditional starter’s build, but when the University of Tennessee recruited him as a reliever, he quickly pitched his way to being the program’s No. 1 starter. Dallas put up a 4.19 ERA this season, striking out 122 batters with just 20 walks over 103 innings, showing strong control of the zone. His secondary pitches will need to catch up, but that cutter has loads of potential. Fun Fact: His nickname is “Cheese.” Dallas’ brother, Jack, is a pitcher at Lamar University and his father, Tony, played baseball at Panola College. In high school with West Orange-Stark, Dallas won consecutive Class 4A state championship games. Quotable: When Dallas arrived at Tennessee, two of his teammates -- Connor Pavolony and Evan Russell -- didn’t think he was a pitcher. Instead, they admitted to him later that they first thought he was a catcher, as Dallas told Knox News. “Size is for the eyes, wins are for the stats,” Dallas said.
  7. Jack alverez, current HFC at Cuero? That was gonna be my answer too. But I'm not sure if kirbyville had won before him.

  12. Nothing for this year. Just pointing out the significance of the rivalry. That playing a great team early can lead to success later. This year, I think chances are about the same for both. Not likely, but could happen.
  13. Looks like 8-3 now. I don't think you counted the whoopin from last season. I'd like to add that 5x out of 11 years, one of the two teams ended up playing for the championship. 2020 West Orange-Stark 70-0 2019 Newton 14-20 2018 Newton 21-7 newton state champ 2015 West Orange-Stark 6-48 wos state champ 2014 Newton 7-19 wos state finalist, newton state finalist 1999 West Orange-Stark 18-0 1998 West Orange-Stark 10-0 newton state champ 1997 West Orange-Stark 30-0 1996 West Orange-Stark 12-6 1989 West Orange-Stark 47-9 1988 West Orange-Stark 24-0 wos state finalist
