I could agree with this if it were the offense being "tinkered" with. The defense didn't need his "stamp". Its been good for 45 years.
Besides, I'm not sure what his "stamp" would be. He's never been a HC. He previously was at WOS so I'm not sure how proven his system is or how in the world it would be different from the one he was coaching under before he got that job.

You do have a valid point but right now the way our defense has played the last 2 games is definitely nothing anywhere remotely close to traditional Mustang football. We always hang our hats on defense. We’ve given up 9 tds in 2 games. I’ve seen entire seasons where we barely give up 9 all year. The new DC came from Westbrook where he had horrible defenses the last few years and now he’s trying to change the way we’ve played defense for decades.  I’m really hoped they get things ironed out, but right now it’s leaving a lot of folks scratching their heads and asking why???

It only takes a unproven accusation now days to  lose your job. Welcome to the state of the country. 

I hope it doesn’t come off like I’m wishing bad outcomes on Coach Hickman… my irritation is directed at the admin and people in the community who used everything available (including unproven claims of racism by CT) to make the swap. 
 
 

In 2015 Jack Dallas was their third option at qb got them a ring. That’s not genetics alone, that’s a system.
You can’t win with athleticism, hard work, or coaching alone… it’s a combo. It’s not luck that LCM picked up Peevey and started playing actual ball. 
WOS will be good, but great is still a big question mark. New coach has some big shoes to fill and my money says that WOS fans will regret hiring a coach solely based on a single qualification that has nothing to do with scheme.

Not taking nothing away from PNG but the Mustangs were totally unprepared for this game. WOS was out classed, out worked, and out coached.

As bad as the offense looks, I'm super concerned with the defense. The scheme switch has completely screwed what used to be our bread and butter.

Absolutely the worst I've seen WOS in over 20 years. Can't tackle. Offense looks even worse.

Despite promises to the contrary. The one thing you shouldn't screw with here got screwed with.
I'll reserve saying too much. Maybe they know better than a future Hall Of Famer.

Wos has 4 running backs that can play. We might not face another team like WOS with that much depth in the skill position

Need depth at running back. Morris cant do it all. Wos has more depth at skill positions which favors them

I hear tell the Mustang defense better be ready for some trick plays. Hear Da Bears been working on several a lot this week in case the game situation allows for one to be called.
