1. With the big dogs now out of the WAC, the Sunbelt is a much better fit for La Tech if they can't get into CUSA.
 2. Don't change too much Brenham. I love the all whites with the white shoes and white helmets. Look like Storm Troopers!
THAT'S just as hillarious as the Vidor folk saying they have 3 players that run a 4.3 in a 40...
The person who posted that info. was wrong. I don't think there are many Vidor folk saying that.
I think it was a barber in Vidor saying that 3 players run a 4.3.
I don't think anyone from Vidor has ever ran the 40 in a 4.3! They may have ran it in a 5.3 or 6.3  And that was the runningback :D ;D It cracks me up when PNG, Nederland, Vidor, and Lumberton start talking about 40 times. I haven't seen many kids on any of those teams ever have break away speed, much less world class speed.
The official lazer time, as Titan Power would put it, of Rick Culprit from the 2003 Vidor Pirates was a 4.34 in the 40. He also made it to Arkansas on a track scholarship. So yes there have been fast people come out of Vidor.
I've seen lots of people come outta Vidor real fast!!!  ;D
 4.
Why would he go to atm with johnny boy on campus?
No kidding. The future at A&M is in the hands of Manziel and it looks pretty bright. Tanehill will start this year and barring any slipp ups should do well, but JM will reign at Kyle the next 3.
 5. Lamarque at 10 is a suprise.
 6.
Clearly more about the media markets than the institutions: DFW / Denver / Seattle / San Antonio, etc.
BINGO! But can you blame them. They are in the business of making money.
 7.
Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos is adding an end zone section, a very large one, that will expand their capacity to 30,000. They are working on it now. It does not appear that Cardinal Stadium can be expanded like they are doing in San Marcos.  Any thoughts on how Cardinal Stadium can be expanded to 30,000?  Just curious.
Bowl it and add a small second deck to the sidelines you could get it to 30K.
 8.
19-4a will not p/u another school and will play a 7 team dist like 20-4a.
20-4A is an 8 team district!
 9. True Rog. In the end the W's tell the story. He did inherit good talent, but he has also cranked up the strength and conditioning bigtime during the summer. These guys are up at the football field every morning running sprints, the hill and bleachers as well as adding muscle.
 10. Nice job ladies! Especially Gillette the Crush Killer! If anybody knows how to get that kid out let us know! ;D
 11. Actually Sulphur was the top ranked 5A team in LA that season and coming off of a state title the year before. Kelly beat the bad, but from what I remember that was a good Kelly team, but not a great Kelly team.
 12. PNG PAM and WOS. I think the BH matchups will continue to be pretty good battles with the Hill having some good looking young players currently on Varsity.
 13.

offense wont be as good.defense will be better= same as last year, which is pretty darn good!!
I cant say last years defense was good. Most of the games were won by the high powered offense. Early in the season, the defense could not make a stop. That is how Nederland beat us. We traded scores, We couldnt stop them and they stopped us enough to win. Later in the season, adjustments were made, but I cant say the defense was good. I am looking for things to be better this year though.
I think what he was saying was that that great offense will be down a bit, but the not so great deffense will be up, so it will make for a similiar season as last years results wise which was pretty good.  I tend to dissagree. I think if the deffense has improved this team will have more success. I love offense as do most, but defense is where you hang most of your W's.
 14. Did all 24 signees get some form of scholarship? Just asking to get a gauge on percentage of signees getting schollies overall not just from GT Shockers.
 15. Thats exposure that LU hasn't had in years!
 16. WOS 5-0 (As usual they have an abundance of speed) Silsbee 4-1 (More athletes to choose from than the rest of 21-3A below) BC 3-2 (I just don't see the rest of the district as being very good!) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OF 2-3 (The offense is tricky, they could beat one of the above, but they could also lose to one of the below!) HF 1-4 (Getting better year 2 Price) HJ 0-5 (When does BB season start?)
 17.

they forgot about dayton, ranked 16th in 4A or they not considered setx?
Beaumont area media usually considers Dayton to be a little too far west to be considered SETX.
That is crazy. Hull-Daisetta,Hardin, and Liberty are right next to Dayton. We are all SETX ! From Beaumont to Houston !! What teams are really East Texas would be the question !!
The local media would consider Dayton within the Houston media coverage. Houston is technically SETX! I try to use GT area.
 18. Again in 3A you don't have to average 275 across the line since you won't be facing teams with an abbundance of huge D Linemen or big LB's. A rested Defense will make more plays and lead to more points. That said, WOS has the athletes to score quickly no mater what offense they are running! The big question is will Cornell put the majority of his athletes on defense? Also from what I understand, this incoming freshman class will have the ability to be very diverse on offense. Good passing QB and several big time targets. Could see some flip floping in offensive philosophy over the next four years??
 19. Outside of KVille the past ten years give me one good reason the GT area should get any respect?
 20. If I had to predict I would go with the same four from last year. The only thing I don't have a feel for outside of Livingston near the top, is what order those four will finish 1-4. In no particular order: Livingston (a lot returning with a powerful running game) Central (Mitchell keeps getting better) Nederland (Loads of Youth last year, but how will they fair loosing Mr. Everything Sonnier) PNG (Loosing Doty is tuff, but they return the top RB and WR and maybe top coaching staff) I think Ozen has the top playmaker in the district in Green and could eek one of these 4 out, but it is a long shot.
 21. Have you even been to the campus in the past 5 years UNLV? A lot has changed since Dr. Simmons took over and 90+% of it is for the better. Dr. Simmons helped bring back football! You make it out that he was responsible for what happened 20+ years ago! I for one trust the man, becuase he has prooven himself.
 22.

This is the way I see it.... 1. Livingston 2. Port Neches-Groves 3. Central 4. Vidor 5. Nederland 6. Little Cypress-Mauriceville 7. Ozen 8. Lumberton
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D                                                        H I L A R I O U S ( Every year I hear this same crap  ! AND ? ) @least your consistent
First of all, we beat nederland last year. We beat ozen last year. LCM has lost most of there offensive production. Lumberton doesn't have anything coming back that i know of. The top three are subject to change. But my bottom five, i think, are accurate. Prove me wrong. I'm glad that my pics amuse you. But again prove me wrong.
While I don't disagree with your picks totally, you do have to realize that "proove me wrong" from a Vidor fan is not a challenge! It has been proven year after year with Vidor. Once in 10 years or so is proof enough. A Nederland fan asking you to proove they warrant a 5 spot and out of the Playoffs for the first time in forever is more legit. Good Luck Pirates. Keep the faith. I did like your stable of runners last season!
 23.
What I have seen over the last few years is a Mustang offense that could move the ball up and down the field, but would, at times, have trouble punching it in.  I think Coach Thompson recognized that as well and went to an offense that gives him a tight end and a full back to help punch a few more holes down in the red zone
BINGO.  I suspect you will still see some spread, but beefing up the middle and punching it down your throat regularly and using a little clock will be a winning combo.
 24. No doubt Livingston with all they have returning should be a top pick and Central with Mitchell in year two will be tough, but the rest of the mix is going to be a toss up. Any time you break in a new QB it is hard to gauge how well you will play. I have great faith in Miller and even though on paper it appears that Nicotre is the only returning starter on the OLine, Stasinos got quite a bit of PT last year and did very good. Even Reasons got a little PT as a Soph. So I wouldn't be suprised to see PNG win the district, but I also wouldn't be suprised to see them duking it out week 10 for a playoff spot.
 25. This guy mentioned that WOS didn't have the size in the Oline to run the I like Katy does, but least he forget WOS ain't playin Katy in week 3 of the playoffs! They are playing like 3A programs who also don't have a huge D-Line. Cornell is going to hang his and the WOS hats once again on the Chain Gang. Ball control offense with a rested defense that will make plays! Hard to argue that it won't bring WOS a State Title at some point since the spread hasn't gotten them very far either!!!
