In your opinion, do you make 8 schools wait on the one who can't play? Legit question, and I'm just curious of your thoughts.

Unless Vidor tells the district that it will not compete in district play, the UIL says yes.
And there is precedent for it.  After Rita hit, the district that West Brook and Memorial were in (strangely enough, 22-5A) voted to proceed with the the other 6 teams competing for the district title and leaving West Brook and Memorial out of it, even though neither school intended to shut down for the season, but like Vidor in this case, wouldn't be able to start at the same time that the other 6 did.  The UIL stepped in and made 22-5A go back to the drawing board citing its policy that any certification of district standings must be fair to all participants.
That district ultimately decided to break the district into zones.

Beaumont Central @ Pasadena Rayburn, scrimmage @ 5 pm on Friday.
Central's scrimmage against Channelview (August 25th) was cancelled along with their games against West Brook (September 1st) and Katy Tompkins (September 9th).  So this will be their 1st time suiting up against another opponent this year.

I wouldn't have even done JV/Freshman.  I would have gotten my Varsity on the field so that they can get some contact before next weekend.

Seeing as they weren't able to hire someone to coach a 5A high school with 4A numbers until weeks before the 2016 season, I'll bet they'll keep Taylor as long as he wants to stay there. They 've had one winning season since 2005 and haven't been to the playoffs since 2014. 

I can vividly remember arguing a few years ago that every school schould have turf.  I also remember catching a lot of resistance. Funny how attitudes change when area schools start slowly acquiring turf fields.  
By the way.  I really think that a vast majority of people don't realize the cost of maintaining a grass field over a 10 year period.  Water, paint, man hours to mow, etc..  Anyway.  Seems that more and more are finally catching on.

Lots of SETX schools are wishing they had turf about now... 

Reckon it's time for turf in Silsbee, America.

They do pull out "throwback" jerseys at least once a season.

Turf usually fixes drainage issues. They usually install a quality drainage system under the turf. 
Drove through anahuac today. Their project is good to see.
