I think what 11 is saying is prior to Babin, we were getting beat by teams like Central by 60 points, no exaggeration. After Babin arrived, we lost to Central in the final seconds of the game back to back years if I remember correctly. We beat the likes of Ozen, Vidor, GCM on our way to the 5A playoffs. The only things that have changed in the last 4 seasons (Babin era) is the talent level from year to year and now a drop to 4A. The culture shift is real and has not changed, regardless of the scoreboard or the opponents. It doesn't mean we are all of a sudden world beaters but what our players believe and what our opponents see/feel is different the last 4 years. That's a fact that can't be disputed. Hence, the phrase culture shift or change.

    I can respect that outlook

You just named all RB's under Coach Burnett in a run heavy offense. Name another QB at PNG and under BF that ran that much? Doty, Morse, and think I may forgetting one. How do you know others won't step up if you don't try? BF has this record because of RJ, now he needs to give back and take the load off. Remember, RJ enrolling at UT a couple of months after the season is over.

I understand that - isn’t RJ one of the top 5 leading rushers in the history of PNG. One could say his ability to run the football makes up a substantial part of that offense due to his God-given talents and hard work. I would assume neither Doty nor Morse were the runners he is.

After doing a little digging, I found the following info in regards to Herman and his QBs:

2014 (Ohio State) JT Barrett: 938 yards/11 TDs

2015 (Houston) Greg Ward Jr: 1114 yards/21 TDs

I don’t believe he’ll run the ball 30+ times At UT, but we’re delusional if we don’t think his ability to run the ball wont be incorporated in the offense.

Have you attended the games the past few years?

Yes - I enjoy going to many local games. I’m not saying your kids aren’t playing hard, most schools can say that.

I watched y’all play Crosby a few years back and Lee last year. Once again, not knocking your kids. Yall have beat the teams you should beat and we’re defeated by teams around or above your level. Also, nothing wrong with supporting your community or team, just tread lightly with cultural paradigm shifts. Not sure if you’re singing the same tune if Lumberton is still in 5A.

Ok. We’ll go read what they are saying. Even they seen a change the past few years. But your typically a Raider hater judging by your posts on our threads so i don’t expect you to see that.

    More of a Raider Realist

I was. But just because there is a culture change doesn’t mean instant success when playing teams like PNG and Nederland. And no you’re wrong, it’s not the “same Lumberton”. Just ask anybody in the old 22-5A if we’re the same pushovers.

Kinda where I got the idea from my previous post

You're killing me, I looked at Texas QB this year and Herman runs his QB 7-10 times on average per game. The highest was 17 carries in one game. I don't know where or what y'all know about football, but running your QB 36 times in a game and that's all of the time is crazy. I remember Bama kid being a band guy, I guess maybe you were too? Lol

Yeah buddy - I killed it in the woodwinds. 1st chair as a freshman, had an article in the paper and everything.

I understand his parents’ trepidation towards his carries in high school, and the potential for wear and tear. I also understand a coach using his best offensive weapon while he has it. Nobody at PNG was worried when Bergeron, Gouhlke or Hemmings was toting the rock 30+ times a game. Some of y’all were begging for this kid to go both ways last year.

Point is: Parents want to secure his future - Coaches want to secure theirs.

I’ll go back to polishing my saxophone now

Not sure why it's copying you Prep. I look at PA News and it appears RJ has 36 carries. That's insane! BF should be ashamed of himself. After RJ and Ceja, the ndn offense had 22 total yards. BF better figure out how to distribute the ball better. Not sure why he didn't have the RB's run the ball more. RJ had all but 6 yards of total rushing. That's on BF.

Y’all kill me with this “Why does Faircloth run him so much?” stuff.

Look, I get it. Nobody, including myself, wants that kid to get hurt. He has a very bright future. But if you don’t think Herman is gonna run that kid when gets to UT, y’all are insane.

Throw all that past record crap out the window. This is a new Lumberton with a new culture. And we’re playing much better than our history.

Actually, keep all the past records and post them in the field house this week. Tell the team to take it easy and just get ready for playoffs.

    Either way, Raiders win.

Same Lumberton, new district, lower classification

When y’all were in the 5A, I don’t know if the townsfolk were claiming “culture change.”

Beat of luck to both teams

To be honest I expect much of the same from Roschon that has happened the last two years which is having 30+ carries and 200+ yards his rushing for the past 2 MCM has been:

    30-245 6 TD

    34-284 5 TD

but I also expect Kade Scott to have a big game either way it's setting up to be another classic MCM.

    Nothing to write home about

    2016:4-9 63 yards

    2017:13-24 99 yards 2INT

    Those 11 TDs tho

Yea, it's no secret that Todd Peterman who is 36-12 with a state championship would have been the best pick.  Also, even though it has been a while Lydell Wilson had won a state championship.  Arthur Louis is currently 26-26.  To his credit, he did make the playoffs 3 of his previous 4 years and as bad as this year has been, he still has a shot at making it this year.

Monday evening, while on the campus, I had a former Ozen coach who is now a United coach tell me that when they initially hired him, he thought that was a great hire.  Now he admits it was a mistake and a change is needed.

I hate that has become the case. I had big hopes for United this season, but also understand the struggles of merging 2 loved programs together.

Im still rooting for y’all, want what’s best for the kids and still believe there is tremendous potential there.

The important thing here is that someone cheated and got caught.   There must have been enough evidence detailing the cheating for a majority of the schools to vote in favor of a forfeiture.

Now the school or schools that turned in PNG for this infraction are being attacked as snitches.  Very funny how things are twisted.

Unless I missed it...... not one PNG poster is upset with the coach/coaches.
