  1. Offensive line play is goin to need to improve if Nederland wants to have a chance this year. Kirby was runnin for life during the first 4 or 5 drives. Plus, the running game isn't worth a darn, DUE TO poor run blocking...

D-Line impressed me thought, and Maddox (26) was puttin his hat on some people. Dionte (10) had very good lateral speed, but the secondary is still lackluster at best, typical!

But that's why we have these scrimmages, to see what areas that our teams need to improve in to be ready for week 0!

  2. Congrats to the 13 yr olds, you did more than anyone thought you would do!

And next year hopefully we will be fielding a true all-star team! You can count on it that maybe 1 or 2 kids off of this years team will make it next season as all-stars.

The kids that have been playing on the Roughriders for the last 5 years will be playing Babe Ruth next year, and that Brazoswood team will look like a bunch of scrubs. There will be quite a few parents wondrerin where in the world did these kids come from! Mark my words, it will be a totally different team next year especially with Stampley and Raines playing.

  3. Hahaha! Wouldn't you for me just to blurt some names out of coaches and fathers that I have given me pertinent information. I've got a little more sense than that 82!!!

The only thing I'm concerned with is makin sure that these kids are given the best situation to win, and that "little league" politics will have no bearing on the line-up. I know there are few ringers on the team that are getting the run-around, not fair in my opinion.

  4. The versatility in the field does prove to be beneficial in the long run, but I think the original argument was pertaining to not putting the "Best 9" on the field. And trust me, this year at Nederland Babe Ruth, there has been more than a fair share of Daddy Ball being played.

There are a few kids playing out of position and batting out of order, for sure. Do NOT put your weaker hitters high in the line-up, and your slower of foot kids in the OF. SIMPLE THINGS that people who know baseball already know...

  5. Lumberton's playoff honeymoon is coming to an end. The Loeb Raiders are depleted, and will fight with the bottom feeders as in years past.

Central and Ozen have athletes GALORE! Both teams will make a playoff push if the correct system is implemented.

Nederland has way too many returning players not to make the playoffs, and PNG has a BIG "?" on the defense...

LCM and Vidor will each battle for last

IMO, Livingston is the dark horse. Who knows? They may pick up where Dayton left off

  6. Ned vs WOS...can't get much better than this week 0 huh?

    Nederland:

Solid QB, proven WR core, 3/4s of the Secondary is returning, 2/3 of the LB core, and 2 DL returning

    WOS:

Another solid QB and RB, and sounds like they have a DL to be reckoned with

Over the past few years this matchup has been a sight to see, and I'm glad we get to start the season w/ a game like this one. Lets see....at the Doghouse.....Bulldogs by 10
