  1. I don't think that I would call that "attacking" really. Dude was just saying the kid doesn't take getting hit well. Geez lol!

Most QB's are taught to get back up quickly, dust themselves off, and sattle up again. I've personally seen some times where Bellow has milked it on the field, but I have also seen him play thru it.

He's a good kid and has done well the last 2 seasons. But I do see not having Asa being a problem for him, due to his being able to catch the ball within arms reach lol! I hope Barrow works with Kirby on making his progressions, and he should be fine.

  2. Bench press hardly translates to much on the football field, especially at RB. LEGS mean everything!!! I can give my left gonad if a RB can throw up 300+. Give me a back that can put up a 550+ squat and 300+ powerclean!!! Which apparently MIchaels, Grogan and Hanna can do

Michaels is in a class all by himself, nuff said, discussion over, PERIOD!

Now, the #2 spot is definitely up for debate:

My vote goes to Grogan of Nederland, the kid must have 36" thighs. Runs thru defenses like a hot knife thru butter, and has the second gear after the 2nd level of defense to take it the distance

  3. Coach McGallion told me the team will be comprised of 3 types of players:

    1) High School Recruits (ie Cardenas and Tatum)

    2) Guys w/ experience who attend Lamar:

*Names mentioned were Ryan Butler (Ned WR/DB, Class of 06, played at Trinity Valley CC), Brad Croak (Vidor WR/DB, Class of 07). Brett Ramset (OF QB, Class of 07, played at Louisiana College), Zac Skinner (Silsbee OL, Class of 06, played at Blinn), and Zach Bass (Ned OL, Class of 2006, played at UMHB)

    3) He also said they wanted to "sprinkle" in JUCO guys

I CANT WAIT for some Lamar Football

  4. Well, this unnamed coach hasn't done much with what he's had at LCM. Albeit, it's not like he's been working with the cream of the crop. Kids don't respond to him and obviously his assistants don't know what's goin on. Seems alot like Fisher's last year or two in L-Town. In the end, the LCM administration should do what's best and hire someone who can lead them to greener pastures.

    Now to the game:

With all of the dissaray and confusion in Bear Country, I see the Bulldogs running wild in this one. Though historically, LCM normally gives Big Ned a run for their money. As long as Nederland can keep a consistent balanced attack offensively and 11 gold hats flying to the football on defense, they'll be fine in district play.

    Nederland 45 - LCM 7

  5. I was told by some good contact out at Lamar that coaches have spoke w/

Zach Skinner - Silsbee '06 - OL - Played at Blinn

Ryan Butler - Nederland '06 - WR/DB/KR - Played at Trinity Valley CC

    Zach Bass - Nederland '06 - OL - Played at Mary-Hardin Baylor

All would be eligible for one more season come Lamar's opening season, and all 3 could contribute

All of which are currently attending Lamar

I remember watching Butler when he was at Nederland, that kid was an athlete! Bass wasn't too shabby either, he was the anchor of the O-Line his senior year
