Bays is leading reciver..37 catches 624 yards 3 tds
 2. I'd be a liar if I said I did either...I know they have had good teams up that way..kinda doubt that they have played the caliber of teams we face down here. I expect WOS to win but a dogfight. We will have to play better than we did tonight though. Navasota and LaMarque should be very interesting.
 3. Sorry to say my prediction came true..believe me no shame in losing to LaMarque...hang you heads up Trojans..maybe we will get that CS-WOS rematch next year. This Stang fan respects your team for sure and your fans.
 4.
Navasota will be waiting for Wo-s in the 4th round trust me it wouldn't be Coldsprings or La Marque.
Cool, we love to send you back to start basketball practice
 5. To sum it all up...Liberty wants some Slack, and it's no big Deel. Seriously, though Coach Foreman is a great young coach, he will be a good hire for someone.
 6. Since we kinda got off topic and was talking defense (sorry moderator) I did a little bit of research as far as two of the top defenses in the state this season...first of all Navasota has played 6 teams who have scored a total of over 300 points on the season. Of course, they are 6-0 and won by an average score of 48-9. WOS has played 2 teams that averaged over 300 points (Jasper and Silsbee), they won both of those games by an average score of 22-10. Interesting to note that of all those teams only Silsbee (423 points); Coldspring, and Jasper (both with 463) have scored over 400. Navasota met only 1 school with less than 200 points scored, while WOS faced 4. I'll try to investigate LaMarque when I can.
 7. Tigers will prevail (haven't used that word in awhile, kinda thought I would throw it in) 34-13.

Those guys were two outstanding players at key positions. The QB this year is a 3 year starter. Took them to Jerry's world and semi finals. Lost 2 running backs from last year. Gilbert was the main ball carrier, very quick and extremely fast, but not much power. His replacements this year are not as fast, but much more power. The biggest weapon CS has is a sophomore and has only got the ball late in the game because he starts at LB. Best running back CS has had for years. Good luck to both teams Friday, and someone please keep the game thread updated. Having thanksgiving at the deer lease and no radio coverage or Internet. Have to get updates on iPhone.
Hard to beat Gilbert, he was very good. Good luck to ya'll..I saw a post that says Cs is hated, I don't know many WOS fans that hate ya'll..heck we WANT to play ya'll again. I stand corrected about the Monroe kid being a QB as I admitted in an earlier post..kinda misunderstood what my son told me. Monroe was still a very good talent.

we can talk can talk untell were blue in the face -------------------------------silsbee will win this one big time
i wonder WWHHHYYY you don`t have any problem being so CONFIDENT that silsbee will win a game, and are so sure in the ineptness of THEIR opponent, but when it comes to WO-S, the school you went to and are supposed to be  supportive of. you`re always praising their opponent and talking about what WO-S is doing wrong??????? like i said before, whoever WO-S is playing in the future, you should wear THEIR jersey and sit on their side. WO-S can do without fans like YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
You know I think people like Skip and me are kinda old school...in the old days you gave your opponent credit before and after you played. You didn't trash talk, you didn't blow your own horn. It's a little different these days. I don't know how old Skip is or even personally know him that I am aware of. He is on here supporting WOS athletics, maybe not the way you do or the way you want him to do. We are ALL fans or we would not be on this board. It is easier sometimes to see other teams flaws and strengths then it is the team your rooting for. Skip seems like a decent guy and you probably are too. One thing for sure WOS fans don't need to rip each other just because they root for their team differently. GO STANGS!
 12.
Navasota will win 54-26! I think Jasper comes out strong but fall by mid second qtr.
Rooting for Jasper but I agree Navasota will probably be too much....but much closer than probably most of you guys think..no more than 12-15 points.
 13.
Lost qb to graduation? Puff, CS has same qb.
Sorry JEST STICK...referring to Colton Monroe and Sherman Gilbert.
 14.
I wonder when Coldspring is gonna get the respect that others in the area get.  I mean we do have some history of winning.  The last two years we have to the finals and semi-finals.  Seems like everyone is always against us.  Not sure what the deal is.  We are one of the smallest 3a schools in the state and we play like one of the biggest.  The whole wiping the floor with us and all is just disrespectful to me.  We may not have a Sherman Gilbert this year, but I still think we got enough to get it done.  I guess we will see come Friday.  I think LaMarque is very dangerous and very good.  I remember watching them on film before the first matchup and I thought oh my goodness I don't know if we can beat them.  Now seeing what this has done this year I think they can compete with anyone.
This Mustang fan certainly respects CS...and LaMarque as well. Two great teams (certainly two of the best in Texas), that is a fact. I have to agree with K'ville Kat on this one (first time this season isn't it my friend), CS just can't lose what they did to graduation (QB, and RB) and be as good as they were last season. Those guys were two outstanding players at key positions. Yes, you can cover that loss up by throwing more but eventually it catches up to you. I'll tell you right now WOS won't be as good next season as they are this year. The reason I am going with LaMarque is no disrespect to CS, but it is very hard to beat a great team twice in the same season. Just my opinion. Personally, I would love to see another CS-WOS matchup, just  don't think that is going to happen. Good luck to both teams in this one.
 15. Unless you lived through his era..i don't think you would realize just HOW dominate Earl was. If anyone could have gone from HS to pros he would have been the one. Quiet and unassuming and physically he was a beast.
 16.

You gotta discount anything a Pirate fan says about SC. Vidor got embarassed any they're still pissed. It had to be very disheartening to know exactly what SC was going to do an not be able to stop it. Our offense is as complete as it gets. Now if U want to pick at our defense, you may have more luck. Having said that, SC's defense is the best Vidor has seen this year. All those forced turnovers and go back and look at the game [Hidden Content] and you'll see a very physical defense that laid down some vicious hits.
So, what happens when the "Greatest Show on Turf" faces a complete defense? You keep picking on Nederland, but who would you say is the best D you have faced? I promise Nederland has a better defense than ANY you have faced. Here's a few stats since you are a numbers guy: 1. Vidor had the most yards all season on Ned with 311. They scored 13 points and their last TD came with 1 minute left. How many yards and points did they have against y'all? 2. Ned defense has allowed only 87 yards per game passing And has 17 INT. I bring this up since you feel that your Bulldogs would burn Neds 2ndary all game long. Doubtful. 3. Angleton is the only team all season to score more than 21 on Ned. They scored 39 and were aided by 5 Ned turnovers. The only other 2 teams to score more than 14 BOTH scored on the last play of the game against 2nd string D. Those teams were GCM and LCM. 4. Y'all gave up nearly 500 yards to Crosby. Ned held them to 159 and 7 points. 5. You asked earlier if Neds defense is similar to Vidor. Nederland is much bigger on the D Line and has a much better secondary in my opinion. I hope this game happens down the road. Lots of work to be done for both teams to make it happen. I have no doubts that the SC offense would be by far the best offense Ned has faced, but I will promise SC has yet to face a defense as Ned. Good luck this weekend vs. a very solid Georgetown team. Are y'all good? Yes. Are y'all great? I'm not ready to say yes to that YET. I don't know how good Ned truly is or how far they will go, but I can assure you they aren't near as bad as many of you are thinking!
I agree with your number 5...Sc-Ned would be a great game for sure. Until then, I am going with SC to win this week.

Newton beat Daingerfield 21-0 in '98 at Homer Bryce Stadium.
Newton was 3A that year...right
yup!
DII 3A    5th smallest 3A school in the state that year. Still took down the monsters, except West Orange Stark. I think that score was 7 to 6. Not for sure.
I was at that Newton-WOS game it WAS a heckuva game. Newton wins to play another week.
