What I want to know is how is the Robin Hood law being administered. I see WOS sending several million dollars a year to Bridge City and WOS barely being able to afford anything. Then I see schools up in North Texas building college size stadiums. I see Friendswood with their own tractor trailor rig just to haul band instruments. The state of Texas needs to look anew at public school funding. Someone mentioned Jumbotrons, that is just to bring in better crowds, remember at most schools the football program is the primary revenue for the entire schools sports program. I can see a Jumbotron as an investment. I know WOS used to host at least one round of playoff football every now and then. Would field turf and a Jumbotron put them in the mix to make revenue again? Debatable I think.

You can't lose what we are going to lose and be as good, but we will be in the hunt for the district championship and have a chance to go a few rounds deep in the playoffs again (perhaps maybe not as far but who knows until you put the pads on). Great group of juniors with the seniors we will have. Probably will have a junior Qb that will go downtown more than we have in the past few years. I don't think our defense will be quite as fast but I think our offense will have the capability to be more explosive.

Talent comes and goes in cycles. A lot depends on the perfect storm of timing. Good coaching at the time you have good players. I honestly think the triangle is maybe in a cycle of producing football players that may be down from our heyday. I know Orange's population has dramatically lowered since I was in high school in the late 70's. What goes around eventually comes back around. I don't think that the highest paid coaches are always the best and the best coach at a high paying job isn't going to win if he doesn't have the hosses.

Baker is very good at extending plays on the tape I have seen and Navasota has been really good at giving him time to make reads. That will be the key if we can come at him especially up the middle.

let me say one thing about family..I have had the pleasure and honor of coaching several of the JV and freshmen boys (baseball). They are a part of my family. I admittedly don't know many of the varsity boys but they have always treated me kindly and with respect. I consider all of them my extended family as well. They are really good kids, including some that have overcome a lot. Kudos to their family and to the coaching staff. Their work ethic (players and coaches) are amazing.

Would love to meet you in person, unfortunately I have to work..grrrrr..Don't get to see much football after November. Most of these kids have been to this level last year. There are certainly battle tested. We also totally dominated a team that beat Coldspring. We stood toe to toe (admittedly in scrimmages) with both Nederland and Vidor. Silsbee is no slouch as they went three deep in the division I bracket. I know ya'll beat Jasper handily and we only beat them 17-7 but we have different style O than you and it was a dominating performance. Jasper was a little down this year compared to their usual excellance. This is going to be a great game. I just don't see a blowout by either team, but it is high school football so you never know.
