A lot WO-S fans think they will win it all every year.  They have underperformed several years in the playoffs since their move down to 3A.  I think this is their best shot to date to win it all in 3A, even though they have had some more talented offenses in the recent past, I don't think they have been this good on defense in many years.  They have had many standouts through the years on defense, but this group is like the true chaingang of old.  I wish them the best and hope they bring back a crown to SETexas.  If Jasper survives to see them again in their tough bracket, I will change my tune.  :) I agree, we have underachieved, but I also agree this is the CHAINGANG D. We will do our best to rep SETX well and I am sure that Jasper and Silsbee will do the same. Good luck to the Bulldogs until we meet again.
2. we are capable of coming back on anyone I think. If we are to get to our goal there probably will be one game we will have to outscore someone. Can we do it..think we can but we'll see when the time comes. We haven't had to yet.
 3.
Its funny how conceded sounding that bunch from WOS are! I would love for Silsbee to beat them just to shut them up! They better get use to getting beat. They wont last past the first round when Navasota jumps all over them. We all have to get real and understand those 4a teams Silsbee and WOS played are very weak this year. And wow our district is very weak this year with the exception of Silsbee and WOS. So yes shut outs are impressive when you shut out good quality teams. Oates you can try to line up the scores but realistically was WOS laying off on the offense like Silsbee did when they would get up several td's "no" did WOS put in back ups all of the 4th quarter and alot in the third quarter like Silsbee "no". So your comparisons are arrogantly incomplete!
Fact is, shutouts are impressive and hard to do against even a bad team. Trying to say Silsbee was scored on more because they played reserves more is a pretty weak argument. Secondly, did you attend all of these WOS games? How do you know WOS didn't put back ups in? How do you know WOS didn't let off the gas?
You will have plenty to eat once you leave district..I used to respect WOS But way too much you very lttle me...You will get all you need and more  ;D ;D ;)......LET'S GO Tigers...Take it to them... :o
YOU VERY LITTLE ME? Wow, guess they need English teachers up in K'Ville. I, personally, have never ever littled you to my knowledge. I do my best not to little people on here, even to little people. So sorry, if I offended you even a little. This is a board where people back their teams, why do Stang fans take heat when we back our team and when others want to back their little team it is ok for their little people. Could it be there are some little people who are jealous that their little school's little football team doesn't have the same LARGE success? AS far as respect, we honestly don't need yours or anyone else's respect. We earn it on the football field. Fact is we are one of only 23 schools in the area (according to this web site) to have won a state championship and one of only 14 schools to do it more than once. Call us arrogant because we EXPECT success? We've produced on the field, our players have higher expectations put on them than almost anywhere else this side of Lamarque and Katy. Do we always reach our goals, no we don't, but we have a good ride trying to.

 6.
As I understand it, PN-G placed first in district in both JV and freshman play this year. The JV team ended the season tonight with an 8-2 record and the Freshman Purple team ended at 10-0. The future is bright at PN-G.
One of those losses was to WOS whose only loss was up in Jasper..PNG has a good team there..hopefully they will turn it around next year.
 7. Congrats on the Wos JV defeating the Silsbee Tigers JV 38-0. Both the freshmen and JV team won the "mythical" district championship.
 8. I think Mathews wants to win every week, after all that's why games are played. Only way those guys come out is with the game well in hand.
 9.
Here is where I see the advantage Silsbee has: QB OL Special Teams RB WOS has the advantage on: DL CB LB WR
I think Qb is a tossup. Zero interceptions by Salter for the year as much as we pass is pretty good and he is starting to assert himself running the ball lately as well. He has definately improved over last season and as the season has progressed. I would probably give Spearmen the edge in the running game, but it would be a slight edge. We will probably use a weapon in this game that we haven't used for awhile that might balance that out in our favor. I think the O-Line and Special Teams may tilt towards Silsbee but also not a huge advantage. Wr's probably pretty equal (possibly slight advantage to WOS). I think the defensive side of the ball (especially linebackers and d-backs) Stangs have a significant advantage. Probably good assessment that the DL shifts more towards the Stangs. One again JMO, not trying to ruffle feathers (or Tigers). Should be an outstanding game.
 10. The BEST way for kids to upset someone when their season has been a downer...JUST GO HAVE FUN..pressure is off.
 11.
The PNG stadium would've been alot nicer, but they had to scale back on the original design for cost reasons. I remember the first design was super nice with a 3 story pressbox, brick on the stands, team pro shop, wrought iron fences, and some other really nice features.
team pro shop? really?
 12. a few..no..at most a couple of TD's sorry. But if your expecting to score 21 or more..it isn't going to happen..for Silsbee to win they can't allow more than 12 points.
 13.
I have access to a disk setup that will pull behind a cart or a 4-wheeler.  If someone wants me to I could bring it over after the season.  I only charge $25  a yard.  :)
PNG wants to know how much you'll charge them  ;)
 14. I don't know if it is arrogance so much as we KNOW this is our best team in a long time. Now this time next year we may not have so much confidence lol. Silsbee is very good and yes we can be beat and it very well could be Silsbee that does it. Wish I was as confident as some on here but still say WOS wins.
 15. Wish they both could get in..I said at the first of the year BC so I have to stick with it.
 16.
Wow, that is crazy the '09 game did that much damage.  I remember it looking rough at the end of the game.  It is ashame too, because it is a very nice stadium.
I agree, love the Silsbee stadium..wish our was more like it. Would love to have a mix of it and the Butch when we get a new stadium. How would the Silsbee parents ands school administration allow their kids to play on a field in this condition? Silsbee kids and fans as well as visitors deserve better.
 17. Us Mustang fans accept your apology and humbly offer our own stadium Friday night to help you out in your time of need as our field is in great shape.  ;)
 18. Seen both teams and really think HJ has improved. Gotta go with the Hawks in a close one. 21-20.
 19. I don't even think Jerry Jones could screw Newton up.
 20.
i got a gut feeling silsbee will bring both corners after salter what do you think orangefield  tryed
I would think that since Silsbee is blessed with more speed, just don't think they would see the need to blitz both corners that OF had too. They will try to shut us down (at least at first) probably by playing standard defense. I'd try to stop our running game and make us pass. I agree with you Skipper the penalties have to stop..but this is high school football and most teams have problems with that. Turnovers can't be had period, and I think we have been very good at protecting the ball offensively. We could use a few more defensive turnovers ;)
 21.

does WOS play the winner?
Unless Huffman gets beat, WOS will play the winner. If Huffman loses and Cleveland wins, then Cleveland plays Silsbee and Shepherd gets WOS.  Either way, WOS should not have much trouble.  They would blow out Shepherd bad, and put a pretty good whippin on Cleveland.  The biggest difference is that Cleveland plays much rougher and dirtier, and might cause WOS some issues with injuries that would hurt them later in the playoffs.  They tried everything they could to take out Coldspring players last week.
Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.
 22.
There are too many good football games this Friday. Excellent post! +1
That's the way the season finale should be.
 23.
WOS defense is like a swarm of bees on those highlights vs Orangefield. I wish my Tigers luck and a hard fought game. I hope we win, but I'm more concerned about doing well in the playoffs.
Silsbee will do well in playoffs my friend, too good not to. Just hope both teams come out of the game with no injuries.
