after the state finals I had a girlfriend and my cuz riding with me it was stone cold quiet all the way till about Beaumont when one of them asked me if I was mad. My reply was I wasn't mad that we lost, I was mad because I always wanted to see PNG in a title game and it just happened and I was pissed that the ride was over and would only be a memory now, such is life!!! I cant see myself ever not being a PNG fan I am hard on the defense because they set the bar in that year. The level of talent we had was unreal, two 1000 yard rushers, 3000 yard passer, Defense that flew by the seat of their pants, Whipping the #9 ranked Ned Bulldogs by a tune of 31-8, crushing Lamarque 22-8 and the funnest playoff run for 6 weeks, Priceless!!

well I am sorry that is our sore spot, got to take the good with the bad, if they can bring it together and play solid I believe we can make a game of it, but they have to play their best game to date. sorry you got crucified, they should go look in the mirror if they cant understand the truth. I think there is one player out there that has started every game and I rest assure you I haven't seen him one time make a play if at all, scared to make a hit by himself, I really question why he is in there, for the life of me I don't understand it. I guess cause he is a threat at returning punts I dunno. Hoping RJ can continue to do what he does and make some big plays, Freshman RB will be in the spotlight I hope, with that being said scalpem!

I'm not going to lie I've been unhappy with the defensive philosophy since Kroeker was let go. My youngest played for him. He was let go because he wanted to play hard nose defense and wasn't given the players. They were wanted on offense and defense was changed to bend but don't break style. Play DB's 20 yards off ball and try to score more points than your opponent. Special Teams have been a Achilles heal for many years.
I made a comment about defensive coach but he's the product of the system. I think Faircloth is a good coach but he's still getting schooled by other coaches and clock management. I have always supported him, but the program is getting political again like the last few years with Burnett.
Like I said above my son started for 2 years during his first 2 years and feels the same way.

If the company I work for gets wind that I'm interviewing for the same position with our competitors.... well, I'd better hope the interview went well.
Honestly, if a coach feels the need to try and get out every spring, let him go. If I was a trustee, I'd probably let BF know that if he applies for another position, I'd vote to fire him. Period.
I understand wanting to coach at your alma mater or something but to carpet bomb every upgrade opening in the state each spring is a little insulting to your current employer.

Remember 2010 when we were the big underdogs against Manvel and we scared the pants off them.  21-21 at half and a few bad breaks in the 3rd quarter we were in the game. Final 56-46

An example of what I think Gabe is talking about I saw Friday night.  The Indians had just scored to take a 21-14 lead which they would not relinquish.  Robanadana turned to me and said, "And to believe! Last year they wanted him fired!" My reply, "Fired!? They wanted him dead!"
At which time, a PN-G fan turns around and says, "Yeah, and if he would have lost to Nederland a couple of weeks ago, he would have been fired!"  This as PN-G is poised to advance to a round it has seen only one other time this century (the other one was the Faircloth coached 2010 team).
I remember the hubbub here during the the last part of last school year when Faircloth was rumored to be taking the job up at Lucas.  Perhaps these two things are related.

I think png can get it done but the bend but don't break defensive philosophy isn't going to get it done against College Station Magnolia had good success putting pressure on Perez the qb for college station but when they didn't put pressure on him he churned up yards I think png will get points on offense I just hope Johnson spreads the ball around and try not to do too much on his own

It's called an opinion piece. It's not a news story. I get paid to have a voice and to give an educated view into my teams.
But who am I kidding, your the guy who doesn't want Vincent to touch the ball on offense. Didn't he score again yesterday?

I love the he has only missed the playoffs once since he has been at PNG.  They take 4 teams now. Smh
His teams have score 400 plus, how many points have his defense gave up? That is a record also

I was around and I was coached by Long. He and Burnett were/are solid, good men and coaches, and that drive in 1999 to win in the semifinals was the product of excellent coaching and a whole lot of talent. Both Burnett and Long had a good influence in my life, in their small way. I think you are right that the offense was hampered after 1999, which kept us from replicating what we did with Dustin Long. Despite the what-ifs and whys, BF has been able to replicate offensive success from season to season, which I think certainly goes in his favor. The offensive records for PNG, across the board, are beginning to be entirely dominated by BF-era players. Dustin Long is still the leading passer, but he is not the most efficient (Adam Morse definitely has that.) And, without double-checking, I'm pretty sure the top ten receivers in PNG history are all post-2009. Running backs still haven't caught up to the old days yet.
Of course, a lot of the increase in offensive productivity has to do with the style of play. I bet PNG runs more plays per game than we used to.

Let me ask this question...do you guys think he was that good or willowridge was that bad??? I'm telling yall, these FB teams aren't that good. I know png has some injuries and with a depleted team, u won by two td's. 5 more min it would have been 42-14. I know yall think I'm being mean or throwing shade, but i have gotten to realize some png fans see png one way, but when they match up against a fast athletic team with FOOTBALL players on them, PNG  appears average. I'm sure next year they SHOULD be faster, but this year against PAM the offense looked slow as in plays developing. The qb was sacked 7 times and hurried more than that. I say leave the freshman on jv let him develop. Kam Martin imo, would have been better had he played freshman and jv...he was a bust at PAM.
