Is it smearing if I believe its accurate? I haven't said much about the reason Coach Abseck left up until that post...it might be because I talked to folks I trust w/first hand knowledge of the situation...I posted that "rumor" because in my opinion I believe it is true

It's Stepp, Tepp is a different person If you are referring to the rumor of why Abseck left Barbers Hill, well I dont think its a big secret that that rumor is out there, I'm simply acknwledging the rumor is out there. If you are asking if I personally believe the rumor, I 100% believe it based on the sources I've directly spoken with. And if you are referring to "That School" post I made, well it was posted in a public forum and is fair game just like most anything else....stuff from Smoaky gets posted here and vice versa all the time, considering the overlap it shouldn't be a surprise...

We all have biases, it is human. I try to eliminate them but that can be a challenge. If you have an example of my bias feel free to ask me about it, I'll be happy to discuss with you in an open forum or in private.

I forgot Coach Abseck's daughter is senior...then he's absolutely going to keep her at Barbers Hill....it'd be awful as a parent to yank her out of her school three months before graduation....I am sure everyone in Lufkin 100% understands why he'd allow his daughter to finish her senior year, attend senior prom and graduate w/her friends

I've seen PAM play but not in Port Arthur....will have to see how many free Friday's I can get from the day job

I'm already planning on making it down for a game at the new place

I cant speak on the timing because that part I agree with....unless there was HR red tape we aren't aware of didnt make much sense to wait until after returning from Christmas break to post the job

The rumored new HC is having a meeting with his staff tomorrow morning so it looks like this saga will come to an end

I think the guy last year was just an interim due to the job posting so late...hard to blame Warren on this one IMO...job opens late let an interim guy steer the ship for 2024

It might be out...but usually if its out...someone is real quick to appear to be in the know and will post names somewhere...I personally have yet to see that

Some guys that I'm aware that were contacted were listed earlier in this thread I've been told two other Houston area head coaches who dont have state titles, but both have a lot of wins and a lot of respect statewide were contacted A couple of coaches in the college game were also contacted, both were TXHSFB head coaches, one who has multiple state titles All the people I'm aware that have been in touch would be elite hires...but gotta land one first

The way the supt is going about it isn't a bad idea, it is how I'd do it..proactively contact elite candidates, get em to apply and streamline the process....most of the time thats the way to go.... However with the way things went down w/Abseck and the bad press BH has gotten within the coaching community it may be best to take a different approach this time

Wonder what the breaking point is where they actually cave, post the job and go through a process...supt's definitely been working through the rolodex talking to high-profile coaches w/state titles and/or college experience on the resume..are there more names to call or do you get told no thanks enough to decide, "lets post the job, take applicants and see who wants to be here"
