I definitely feel like the pieces are there for this team to be one of the best in Southeast Texas once again in 2011... Don't underestimate coaching and playoff experience... Defensively they will be very strong in 2011 once again...

I'm posting this after talking with Jordan about it... Apparently this is a guy that we need to be watching anyway.... BTW, I bet Todd and Mike during the fourth quarter in the booth that he would blame the coaches!!!!

Hey guys this is in response to a post I made on the West Brook/Pearland broadcast thread.... This is the post that 82 made first, followed my response: I have been trying, for the last 5 hours, to try to come to terms with what happened today. The only thing I can come up with is "Embarrassing". I honestly dont know what happened today, but our coaches definitely didn't have our kids prepared to play. We got out-coached, out-executed, and out-played. We definitely had more talent on the field, but the better-coached team won. The worst part of it was, Pearland is definitely beatable. Their defense is much better than I anticipated, but still not the best defense we've seen. We've done better against better defenses. The offensive playcalling was questionable, at best. We dont put in our best RB until the 3rd quarter? Whats up with that? Our defense couldn't stop anything today. We didn't even blitz until the 3rd quarter, but by then it was too little, too late. We are a better team than what showed up today and I, for one, am embarrassed for the fans, embarrassed for the kids, embarrassed for Beaumont, and embarrassed for West Brook. This was absolutely the worst game I've seen from this staff since they've been in place. No excuses, it was horrible. This makes me wonder, "where do we go from here?" "What lies for us next season....more of the same?" Something needs to happen.   I followed with this post: 82, those are ignorant comments about a team that doesn't deserve for you or anyone else to bring up stuff like that when it simply isn't true.... Pearland is a great football team with tons of talent.... West Brook has talent as well.... I don't think you are doing Pearland any justice by saying that the better team did not win.... West Brook had their game plan erased by the Oilers, and they had to try and make due with what was there.... The passing game was the ONLY offense in the first half for the Bruins and I thought Reyes did a great job of finding the receivers.... He didn't have an incompletion for a long time in the game.... Don't discredit what Saulberry did as well, I thought he did a fine job, with his only miscue being the fumble on the first drive.... I don't think you are being fair by calling out the coaching staff.... What exactly would YOU have done different? Hey guys, kick-off is at 7:30!!!! We will go on air at 7:15!!!!

After having a while to think about the game, I think there are a couple of things to consider about that game last night.... #1- You can talk about the 'Cats defense struggling, but I'd hate to see the time of possession..... Our D was on the field a lot last night and fatigue may have set in.... It's tough to tackle a GREAT player (McGowan) when you are winded.... No knocking the defense, they kept the other team's score lower than ours and that's what it is about.... And we did have 3 picks and a TD on defense.... #2- As I mentioned in the broadcast, EVERY state title winning team has a test at some point.... There are the rare occasions when teams steam roll everyone, but those occasions are VERY rare.... Kirbyville will learn from this.... Their coaching staff is one of the best in southeast Texas.... You don't make two straight state championship games and start a third season 12-0 without having a great staff.... #3- The players will have a new level of focus next week no matter who it is.... Reading Facebook posts from Cucancic and Ford after the game, they both acknowledged that it was a close game and they will have to be better prepared next week.... To me, that makes them dangerous next week.... Don't forget, as AAW said, in the playoffs, I don't care if I win every game by 1 point, I just want to win.... P.S. --- Those of you who took the Reggie Bush comments WAY out of proportion.... I understand completely that Bush is an NFL athlete and Ford is in high school.... It was a joke, and I'm sorry that it could not be enjoyed that way...

I'm glad that all you Mustang fans are concerned about Kirbyville's opponent in the state title game!!!

Good story about GREAT linemen... They do a wonderful job up front.... They are hands down the unsung heroes of this team....

Pressure is on Denny Hamlin for sure.... He knows that he has to finish 15th and he knows that Jimmie is more than capable... I wouldn't count out Harvick either, although his odds are much steeper...
