My point was that you are one voice on a board, takes 4 to pass anything and you do not hire, fire coaches or teachers. That is the responsibility of the supt. My point was that if people were really fed up with the situation they had an opportunity to do something about it and they chose to stay home.

The part that you are missing is that you are just one vote and it is very difficult to "change" things with just one voice. People will always complain but when it comes right down to it most are not willing to put themselves on the line, it is much easier to judge those that are willing to participate.

Is anyone other than Nederland having a summer league for incoming freshmen?

They were good high school players but that is where the story ends.

So, if a program was not successful in the wins and losses but the kids worked hard is that successful? How do you then measure the success of the coaches that are doing their job? Take the PNG situation, coach had a great track record but still was reassigned, you could even look the other side at BC baseball and coach was let go. Isn't a lesson also that hard work should produce results? How long do kids buy into the idea that they will just work hard and forget about the record, we are not even going to turn the scoreboard on because the score does not matter? What is the life lesson there?

Great story about overcoming adversity and you all have gone through alot. The question is if you don't have a situation like that then is it acceptable to just compete, forget about whether you are winning and when is it time for action to think about change? We saw several schools make changes where the record was ok but not good enough.

How do you measure the success of a program, is it just wins and losses or is there more to it? Just looking for some thoughts on this.

Don't think jv has anything to do with it. The guys that are coming back for OF were the top players just had alot of seniors on this years team so split alot of minutes. The reason Ricossa and some of those guys had big nights was because teams had to focus on the scorers so of course they get some points, but they are not the ones that beat you. Don't see much help from HJ jV as we beat them badly both times. I agree that Silsbee still has tough team but not a lot of shooters or playmaker which allows you to sag on the big guys and force them to beat you from outside. In the past they could do that, not so sure about this year. Should be a wide open district with alot of splits. JMO.

OF will contend for the district title. They lose angelle but will have 5 sr's who played alot of minutes this year. If they can play together they are the most talented sr class to come through OF in many years.

Did not think the #2 big man was that impressive. He never looked for his shot despite a huge mismatch. The other kid played well and took the big kid for CH out of his game early.

I thought that they were the best team that I saw in the tourney.

The game was horrible, was one of the most boring games of the tourney. The kid from Desoto was one of the best in the tourney on and individual level. He took over the game.

kid plays lazy alot, english does a great job with this team

I will be very surprised to see HJ make to regionals. I think they might win first game but that is it. I am not being negative they just have to be on their game from here on out and I have not really seen that this season. Good luck to them.

Just like last year OF makes playoffs by winning back to back games.
