I understand the topic at hand, do you? Show me proof Yates recruiting. And when you find it the uil number is posted. 😎
So your belief on this matter is that Yates did NOT recruit, correct??

SFA. And yes. You?? Not sure what that has to do with Yates and HJ & crying about Yates "recruiting"....
I’m asking bc it usually helps having ‘been there’ and understanding the topic at hand. Did you ever attempt to recruit kids from PATJ or Lincoln to okay at SFA or vice versa?
And for the record, I earned 9 letters while playing 4 sports in HS at Nederland.
I know for a FACT that I worked harder than anyone else at being the best I could be. So I understand putting in more ‘work’ in the gym as Mamba suggested. But no way was my team ever going to be HS opponent with 5 college players on it. -

Kinda hard to be one when one is not debating. 🙄
Then why are you commenting on this topic?? 🙄
Buddy-Question for ya;
Did you participate in HS sports while you attended Lincoln? Memorial? (Not sure which HS you attended)

You build a college program, and they will come, yes. The UIL is not intended to create ‘Dynasty’ or all-star teams (in any sport).
Ok Buddy, try to understand how this works. I’ll go real slow for you....
You made a comment about your build a program, blah, blah, blah...’
I responded with a rebuttal (this is considered debating your statement). Are you with me so far? Good.
Next, I would suggest maybe defending your statement. However, your response was ‘crybaby...’ (This would be considered an attempt to undermine my rebuttal). You still with me?
so, let’s try this again.
Me:
Build it and they will come? That is what a college does. They build a program by recruiting HS kids to play for their school and compete against other similar schools.
Ok, now it’s your turn:
Do you agree that colleges ‘build it’ by recruiting as I stated? Do you think HS teams should be able do the same? It sounds like it from your remarks. I just happen to disagree with said statement.
See, no crying, just debating.
This has been brought to you by;
Lesson 101 in debating.
You’re welcome.

What are we teaching kids that the playing field should always be level or do we tell our kids that they need to get better in order to compete . That they need to put In the work ,get in the gym and work on your game . They don’t hand out participation trophies which is what some of you are looking for. GET IN THE GYM AND GET BETTER !!!! PERIOD!!!!! And coaches get better watch tons of film see how you can play multiple styles the game is evolving if you don’t evolve with you’ll get left behind.
And what exactly would you tell the other teams in the Yates 4A district who lose by 60., 70, 80 points??
To work harder in the gym? Those other Houston ISD schools don’t have a chance to win district bc they are overmatched by an all-star team. Yates isn’t a HS b-ball team. -

It was in general, pipe down crybaby. Whining on here gets old really fast.
Classic inability to carry on a debate. Detract from the topic, then attempt to belittle your opponent. One usually does this in a debate when one cannot defend his/her position.
Thanks for helping me make my point... -

Cry a river to the UIL folks, im sure they will answer.
Cry a river? I’m not crying a river. I’m participating in a debate. You may want to sit back, read a few statements, and learn something instead of constantly undermining people on this board. It gets old really fast...

Wow. Lemme find that article. Playing devils advocate, looking at it from Yates' end, Coach Davis' words can come off as a little 'salty' after a loss.
Salty or simply the truth? Does ANYONE deny that Yates recruits? This isn’t college basketball, it’s high school. The idea is to take the kids in your town and play against the kids in the next town to see who is better. The next level, college, is where you get the best talent from said schools and put them on the same team and then compete. Yates is basically a small college/JUCO team.

What’s the scouting report on Shadow Creek? Obviously they are very good.
They are loaded from top to bottom. 2 D-1 kids. Gonna have to all play really good to beat them.

Galveston Ball held to 9 points in 2nd half. Hefner didn’t score much, but lots of blocks and steals. 7 stels and 5 blocks in 2nd half.

So my question here was, ‘Did you ever recruit other kids from TJ, Lincoln to play at SFA or vice versa’?
