And there you have it. So all speculation should cease. Hopefully, no weather event will slow down repairs

Key phrase is: "possible relocation......". Not a done deal yet

The STJFL is tasked with trying to prevent “stacking” teams. I’m going to make a guess that this has to do with some talented kid(s) being homeschooled in one area but wanting to play for a team in another.
IE, Junior lives with mom in BC and is homeschooled. Dad wants to coach with his buds and have JR play for Orangefield. The argument is made that since JR is homeschooled, he should be able to play anywhere he chooses, hence the new rule.
When we played STJFL, Lumberton had three different teams for a specific age group. Towns like OF end up with one. Everybody gets to play... if too many kids turn out, they just add teams.
I fondly remember the year that Port Arthur decided to effectively field a select team. They had tryouts and everything... if you didn’t get picked, you didn’t get to play.
And they still got their tails busted and and kicked out of the league for the next year. Lol.
And with that logic and evidence, some people will still argue on behalf of the home schoolers........

Got word from some people in the know that there are some seriously talented kids in this district that may not be playing for the teams they played for last season...

I think Port Arthur would be the favorite but its not going to be a cake walk. New Candy and Porter will be tough outs. KPark won't be bad forever.
Throw in PA new coach and the lack of any close road games and they could find themselves in a tie for first place. Lose the coin toss and you're facing Manvel sooner rather than later.
This district will be at least as competitive as their former district. Neither go round was clean and I dont expect anything different here.
If they play any Saturday road games I'll go check them out. I wish PA all the best.
Manvel is DII. However, with Friendswood, Hightower, and Angleton in Dist 10 and Hutto and them in the next district, the 1st 2 rounds could be deadly. But NCISD teams will pose no threat to the Titans

PAM's season will be a sandwich: Hard non-district, cake in the middle, and getting out of Reg 3 will be nearly impossible
Our defense will carry us but if the offense starts fast, even better......
It's PAM vs. Everybody in this district.....

I dunno. I think Hightower and Friendswood are the favorite until proven otherwise

With all these D1 players, Memorial should be a shoe-in for the State Championship!
Region 3 D1 contains the following: Friendswood(dropped from 6A), FB Hightower(Dropped from 6A), Georgetown, Texas City, Angleton, Hutto, and Cedar Park. No way a shoe-in for state......

PAM will run through that district like a hot knife through butter. But getting out of the region is another matter........

From the Desk of the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mark Porterie:
"The Port Arthur Independent School District is proud of the work of the employees, students and parents as they move forward in the school year. We are extremely proud of the Athletic Department in their quest for excellence and it has proven to be an exciting year.
We have been made aware of conversations on social media concerning a perceived personnel issue with members of our Athletic Department. The District has no knowledge of nor have we been contacted directly concerning any such issues. We support Coach Coleman as well as our entire Athletic Department and we are excited about the future that lies ahead. There has been no conversation between Coach Coleman and the administration concerning his departure and we dispute those claims wholeheartedly. As leaders in education in Port Arthur, it is imperative that we dispute these types of claims before they continue to spread. Our basketball team performed extremely well this season and they rightfully earned their place as champions. Let us continue to rally around them, Coach Coleman and all of our student athletes so that we can continue to give them the positive experience they rightfully deserve.
We look forward to an exciting athletic season next year and we will continue to excite the fans of the PAISD."

Who's left. My understanding is only 3 return on offense.......

This comment (in bold) should not be allowed to pass without some comment. I'm not a moderator, but how many times has blood gotten boiling about race on this site? (Remember a few months ago when two guys were banned permanently for spouting racial and racist rhetoric?) -- It has no place on a sports thread -- We aren't going to solve the country's problems (and yes, I agree that there are serious problems) on this site, so let's focus on what brings us together.
We all love football, and I am going to assume that all of us are basically good, decent people who want the best for these kids and coaches. The accusation made here, that anyone who is white probably hates anyone who isn't white, is simply wrong, and represents the very bigotry we are trying to move forward from in this country. It's frankly shocking to read such an ignorant, bigoted, and irresponsible statement. You destroy your credibility, particularly the credibility you want to have in critiquing a white coach, when you reveal so brazenly your disdain for white people.
Further, it is silly to suggest that people of one race should not be concerned or have opinions about thing that concern people of another race; what you are proposing is a bizarre form of "intellectual segregation" that would make Martin Luther King Jr roll over in his grave. Maybe, just maybe, people have opinions about the coaching hire because they genuinely care for, know, are friends with, etc., kids in Port Arthur? And it isn't that novel of an idea to understand that many of the people so interested are white.
We can all be better than this.
I just seen this on my FB timeline and I think it's appropriate for this response to you Rez:

I know you are upset PAISD had the audacity to hire a white guy (heaven forbid!), but why all of a sudden are you calling "X Box" by the initials "KRH"? What changed, SFA85?
He's at Summer Creek now. Time to move on.....
PAISD's hire is their business. I played for a white guy btw but if he *bleeps* up, we will give him the business.
Also, why is it important to project on me some upset emotion about the hire
And finally, why do you, who probably hate the mere existence of Melaneted people in america, care?

Yeah Thompson is white and he failed the 2nd time around.....
Anyway, nah sayers, why do y'all care
And yes, Bubble Schools(plural).....

So hang on, PA hires a home town guy who wants to be there and you are questioning whether or not he cares enough about the kids to "continue getting them scholarships"? Something isn't computing here. It seems this should be a slam dunk hire that is applauded by all........so what's really up?
Nothing's up 2wedge. Just an opinion If Brooks was in the running for the job, he was more qualified except he's older. By the way, what's the loft on a 2wedge?
-
I guess that last statement is suppose to check me in some way? He could be motivated to simply use PA as a stepping stone.
If and when a booster club is created, I will join and I will see for myself how high and similar his expectations are to mine.....
-
Since some moderator or two like to project, here's my thoughts.....
1a Win games, DC's and minimum 3 round appearances
1b Continue the tread of many kids getting many scholarships(KRH set the bar high here)
1c Keep the stars from gravitating to play for the Bubble school, which, only want them for athletics anyway......
In game strategy aside, no coach has taken a team to the Semi's since Marler and KRH did in the largest classification
Morgan has big shoes to fill
