  1. Seems like some people on this thread believe that all coaches do is run practices and rule the sidelines on Friday night, but it goes much deeper than that. You cannot have the best athletes year in and year out. The plants on chemical row do not produce and ship athletes to West Orange every year. There is something else going on there and it begins with coaching. You cannot out-athlete people every year. That starts with coaching and building a system that works which is why I have put the WO-S coaching staff at least in the top 2 or 3 in the area. Raider88, good to hear from you too, and yes I'm back and will stay until these folks tell me to rattle my hocks. And you know what that means, there will be some hair put on the wall.
  2. baseball25, Lumberton coaching is also in this argument I agree, they have put the raiders on the map the last few years. They have the fans and players believing they can win, and back it up.
  3. You say "we all" like you're including me, don't. I know how good Thompson is, but don't diminish what Dan Ray has done. Nobody has done it for 25 years, year in and year out, nobody.
  4. No doubt PN-G has a good staff and are going in the right direction, but the answer to the question is West Orange-Stark, no room for argument.
  5. This game will help both K'Ville and WO-S. The Wildcats fought toe to toe with a top 3A team and came away a conversion from winning. WO-S had their hands full with a great 2A club and eked out the victory. A lot of pressure situations in this game. As long as both teams get better each week and cut down on the mental errors they will be fine come playoff time.
  6. 2 passes are good for now, but you at least need to throw more or let people know that you can. When you get into the second season people will probably stop your run if that is all that you show. There are better defenses out there than Kelly and St.Thomas I promise you.
  7. I've also got ties with Permian that dates back to the '60's, got kinfolk that lived in the area and played for the Panthers. Got nothing but respect for anyone associated with the program. That aside, I think PN-G got a good one. Can't wait to see what happens.
  8. Unknown, what's your take on all of this. This is a forum, what do you do except talk, come back.
  9. football04, do you honestly believe if Vidor and WO-S played tomorrow that the Pirates would win? You've been reading too many scrimmage summaries and Dave Campbell magazines. Watch out for LC-M they may surprise some folks, they've played WO-S for real, and Dave doesn't even know they exist.
  10. Still too early to tell but I like what's going on with PN-G right now. I always liked the guys except when they were playing WO-S. Some of us are from the era when if you wanted to root for someone in December it was PN-G or be somewhere else. I haven't seen them in person but like what I'm hearing and reading. Good luck to the Tribe, if they are not back which I think they are, it won't be long.
  11. I hope Vidor doesn't put too much stock in beating WO-S in a scrimmage, if they play tonite WO-S win s by double digits, sorry this doesn't have a happy ending. Saw Vidor play WO-S, if you could call them WO-S, and saw LC-M play WO-S, the real WO-S, and LC-M gives the Pirates maybe too much to handle. It's too early right now, but put your Dave Campbell's down and come back to reality. I don't care if you've got 22 starters coming back you still got it to do.
  12. Mount Belvieu, Tx (AP) In a feat worthy of "Modern Marvels", the entire Barbers Hill homeside bleacher assembly, including over 2,000 weeping, seated fans, were air-lifted to Los Angeles where their tears snuffed out some previously out-of-control wildfires in the area. The monumental lift occurred at halftime of the Barbers Hill/Lumberton game with the Raiders clinging on to a 48-0 lead. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was in Sacromento at the time, heard about the gargantuan effort while listening to West Orange-Stark blow out Little Cypress-Mauriceville on a KOGT satellite feed. Despite some minor flash flooding in lower lying areas and ravines and such, the Governor had nothing but praise for the fans saying, "I was checking out the 'Stangs and Stelly was giving updates, so I knew they were getting their tails kicked, yet here they are." After all was secured the Eagle fans were immediately lifted back home and set in place just in time to see the Raiders score on a fake field goal on the last play of the game in their 82-0 win.
  13. I don't see LC-M making mistakes like that either, their QB will not have the time to throw an interception. I'm serious.
  14. If I'm a Nederland fan I feel pretty good. They have some atheletes, and they are intense. Held their own against a very athletic club. They will not have 7 or so turnovers every week, that's hard on a defense. Main thing is the QB is alright, fine young man deserves a break. I still believe they make the second season.
  15. Vidor doesn't have to pass, they just say here it is, stop it.
  16. People, what I saw last night you've got 4 D-1 players at receiver, this could get rediculous if all of this comes together.
  17. Look for a typical Nederland / WO-S game, clean and hardfought. Two great programs we will be following in post season. Good luck, no injuries.
  18. Nederland putting up 38 against WO-S at home? How long have you been overseas?
  19. FritoBandito, do you think you can use some of your pull to get me Howdy Doody's autograph.
  20. West Orange-Stark 26 Nederland 14 You are not allowed to copy, rebroadcast or win moneys on this prediction.
