  1. This is nothing against Nederland who is playoff bound, possible district title, they just don't win this game. As for the injuries, they happen and will continue to happen, need to worry about the uninjured and what they are going to do, can't do nothing about the other. Some of this stuff I'm reading belongs on downlow, that is not a compliment.
  2. Are you people drinking anti-freeze or brake fluid, Stark wins this game. I thought I was reading the funny papers for a minute. Forget whatever you read or hear on injuries, it's all over-hyped. I'm not scared to step on anyones toes and will tell it like it is, WO-S wins by double digits. If you're scared, say you're scared.
  3. Do yall let professionals participate? If you do then I'm in.
  4. Just kidding about the standing room only, trying to get some takers. Sometimes you have to have your own line of BS to survive on this board.
  5. Several valid points '87, and that goes to some of the playoff games in the past few years. Some of these teams that beat WO-S in the playoffs recently have had uninterupted seasons. The 'Stangs have been detoured during the last five years by storms that some of their opponents only saw on The Weather Channel. That is not an excuse, it's a natural fact. Whether or not if it was a factor may never be known. The Silsbee/WO-S game is getting a lot of hype and will continue to do so mainly because Silsbee is getting some ink, and well deserved. I don't foresee the Tigers upsetting the Mustangs but I'm keeping a tight rein due to the way the Tigers have a history of playing the 'Stangs tough, but still, don't be surprised if the hype is greater than the game itself.
  6. Both teams can only benefit from this one. Two quality, well coached programs going at it early. We expect possibly standing room only.
  7. If the 'Dogs could do well in this one it could blueprint a successful season, their pre-season is not a lethal injection but one of them chairs they plug in, forget what they call 'em.
  8. A month ago I was picking WO-S handily over the Tigers but I am adjusting my spread to a tighter game, (we can do that you know). The Tigers seem to be getting closer and should have ended the 'Stangs streak last year but that did not happen. Don't get me wrong, I still feel WO-S will pull it out, even in Silsbee. Maybe both teams can make a run in the playoffs, we'll see, there's a lot of talent on these two squads. PS: I still think we stomp Nederland, not gonna change that one.
  9. If Jasper goes back to smash-mouth it could be difficult for Gilmer to put up the ridiculous numbers, but, the 'Dogs have to move the chains. Good luck to Jasper, looking forward to this one.
  10. West Orange-Stark vs. Silsbee matchup could decide district championship.
  11. They are hyped because they are successful year in and year out. Winning breeds winning and these kids look forward every year to outdo the ones before them, they have a tradition to keep alive. You may as well find a winning band wagon to jump on because it's obvious you don't have one. Hopefully one day you'll be able to enjoy something besides mediocrity, winning is pretty cool.
  12. Houston media quit covering the Golden Triangle, can't even buy a Chronicle in Orange. The Bill McMurray days are over sadly to say.
  13. Very good, it will be interesting to see how you did when all is said and done. I admire your courage anyway.
  14. Yo Penny, I go away but never leave. But yeah, it will be at least 21 points, not taking anything from the 'Dogs because I believe they will have a good year, but they will be overmatched this year. Another July prediction, everyone is looking forward to the Silsbee/WO-S matchup because the Tigers always play WO-S close and it will be played in Silsbee, newsflash, it won't be close. Sorry if I made some enemies and people call me a fool, but that is the way it's gonna happen.
  15. I don't know, Ozensfinest said the man was overrated. If the Florida people get wind of this they may back off.
  16. Question for Ozensfinest and setxathlete, what is your affiliation with the recruiting scene? Is it professional or collegiate? Scouts I've talked to were ones who attended combines and I think thats where some of this stuff is coming from aside from game film footage. What tapes have you been watching, just asking, you sound like you're more in the know than most.
  17. Very good. Saw alot of 5A teams up there but no 4A or lower that ranked ahead of WO-S in the final poll.
  18. My bad, I checked it out, WO-S was #15 in the nation in the final 1987 USA Today poll. Could not find the pre-season poll but I thought Aldine MacArthur was #1.
  19. I thought that Aldine team was ranked #1 in the nation (USA Today), and I know WO-S was like #12 in the nation when the season was over, very rare for a smaller class school.
  20. Yes, it seemed like the 'Stangs were in the red zone all night. They were also playing without one of their stud running backs, Eric Williams who was injured in the Baytown Sterling game the week before. WO-S would have had a good chance to win it all if they could have pulled this one out.
  21. Remember that one too, Orange Stark lost their All American QB the week before against Bay City.
  22. The year 2000, Ennis 38, West Orange-Stark 24. Too little, too late. One of my favorite WO-S teams of all time.
