[/quote]  The honey hole is a private pier on Pleasure Island.  Wednesday through Friday were unbelievable for slot reds.  It started to slow down Saturday and the last couple of nights have been slow(I wasn't there but that is what I am told).  My son went last night to a different pier, but since they got in at 3 a.m., I don't know how they did. We caught fish on everything we threw.  Rattletraps seemed best, but it didn't really matter when the were boiling the water for 1/2 an acre in front of the pier. We thought that was a rattler when we ran over it.  turns out, it was a bull snake.    Really hated to kill it once I found out what it was. [/quote] Okay thanks. i think we're going back tonight. I was told that the concrete steps by the marina is a good place this time of year. We're rookies in the grand scheme of things but my 14 yr old loves to fish biting or not. Gabby Douglas is pure gold in every way, just have to say anyone complaining about her hair needs to get a life. I like what one commenter said on a national web site.  'she had hair' I couldn't see past here smile. I wouldn't care if her hair was a buzz cut and dyed purple. She was awesome.

I think this is an interesting question. I would think the guys could cross over, especially Coach K. now what about a woman crossing over to men's like say coach Mulkey at Kansas.

Lamb is a lot of fun to watch. He has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. I think his speed is deceptive. He plays with no fear. I watched him warming up before the SLC final and he was focused like no one I've seen. I hope he has a huge game.

[/quote] I believe the NCAA pays travel expenses. [/quote] If the NCAA pays expenses, good deal didn't know that. As far as BISD scheduling that is too funny. I didn't really think it would cost 125,000 but I did think by the time you deduct travel costs it would take a big chunk of the money. To my budget it would be a lot of money to Lamar university its not much.

I didn't see it 1st hand but heard it from a reliable source.  Ump is calling the plate and a fan is giving him grief about a pitcher, saying , 'that's a balk blue!' this happens a couple of times. The Ump calls time out walks over to the fence and says 'that wasn't a balk, the pitch a few back was. But I appreciate your help' turns around goes back to calling the game. Guy never says another word.

He dominated the paint, very exciting to watch, can't remember a Lamar player blocking that many shots.

It was a great game to see live. #33 was a beast in the paint, we think we counted 7 blocks. Devon Lamb is one of the funnest players I have ever watched. James, in spite of 3 cheap fouls and more time on the bench that normal scored 26 points. Miles laying it out on several occasions a very good team effort. LU crowd was pretty loud heard Dave Hofferth call the Merrrell center the Montagne west. Good job cards! go getta win or two in the tournament.

I believe they are now 6-0 since the rant, may be time for a follow up article. I'm hoping finishing out strong like they did gets them better than a 16 seed, hoping Knight's 'connections' help them move up a notch or 2

This came up in football a while back someone from Newton replied with one of the funniest comments ever 'We'll play any team any where including the Walmart parking lot with your coaches officiating.' Some of the best basketball I ever saw was Brookeland in the late 80's.
