  1. Why? probably because he got tired of you boys spanking them.............. : ;D
  2. I agree with you 100% but I would like to be a little more ambitious and say that there will be 7 more on that list.
  3. I'm going to have to agree with BIG HOUSE.... They can try and blame the loss against Lumberton from a Hurricane hangover but that game wasn't even close at all. Our starters were being pulled midway through the 3rd quarter and if I remember Livingston's offense had like 47 yards of total offense going into the 4th quarter or something very close to that. Lumberton didn't have a hangover but Livingston did? ??? Lionfan, I can't help but look up historical information when the mood strikes me. Just a note for you, Livingston and Lumberton have met 19 times since Lumberton High School was established and I have bad news bud. One of the few teams L-Town has a winning record against is yours, in 19 games Lumberton has won 12 times, Livingston has won 7 times. Four of the games could be called blowouts (including last years) and in that category, the teams are even with two each. By the way, thanks to WOS87 for all the work he does on the history.
  4. How about this for an idea? Let's say move basketball and soccer, you know the sports in shorts, to the beginning of the school year and football and volleyball to the middle of the year then end the year with baseball/softball and track as usual. Easy solution.
  5. The year they started being referred to as BoJo was the year they went 10 - 0 if I'm not mistaken, so to answer your question, yeah they were real good. Had to go look it up, it was 1994. Okay, this is the last time I'll modify this since you guys say they were better years ago, LCM has been in the post season 6 times by my count. 1961 Bi-District Round, 1969 Bi-District Round, 1992 Bi-District Round, 1994 Area Round, 1995 Bi-District Round, 1997 Quarter-Final Round (surprise there). They way I see it, the 90's were the best decade for LCM. Wrong about the "BOJO" beginnings. That only started a few years ago when Moody arrived. He brought "BOJO" but left behind his playbook. LMAO, can't say anything else to that.
  6. Scooter you obviously have a full life............lol.
  7. Asher should be the starter, he actually made some good yardage when he played last year, but with the likes of Hanna and Beard running too people just didn't pay much attention. Reminds me of the year before when Cody was the feature back, Hanna actually tended to run more yards per carry.

  9. I don't know Bronc, I mean each year there is a Super Bowl Champ and at the same time there is still an NFC Champ and an AFC Champ although admittedly they don't shine as much as the Bowl Champ. Also, if you had that one more game, wouldn't it stand to reason that the UIL would make a little more money from the extra game?
  10. Get 'em LCM, who want to be a west texas copycat anyway. Just wondering though? What with their new coach coming from that area, should we start calling PNG, POJO or maybe Po-N-Go? ;D
  11. Currently I'd give that title to Vidor, good teams that just seem to fall a little bit short. Before two years ago Lumberton held that title IMO.
  12. Can't say I agree totally with PNG Bandkid as Lumberton is not ready to give up their current charge to take sole district yet, but, I'm going to go with 20 4-A on this one and root for our district.
  13. but livingston lost their main cogs though. so livingston can make it above Central? ??? Lion, you have to keep in mind, although Central lost their HC, the replacements was one of the coaches from last year so he has a head start in knowing the players strengths/weaknesses. Central should be fine this year.
  14. Here's another for you guys to ponder. "I prayed for God to rain down pennies from Heaven and make me rich.........ever since then it's been nothing but a drought. :-\
  15. I wonder if the city of Beaumont is going to finally start a bus route out to the area, I feel sorry for those folks who don't have a car and can't make it out to that area of town for the fair or other events.
  16. Nederland will have the edge with coaching with Neuman. Is this why you picked Nederland? Remember, they still have to replace Cardenas and Grogan. Salenga will have to be a man among boys next year for Nederland to win district... Actually Soulja, Nederland will as usual be fine on the offensive side, I think. It's their D that'll have to step it up and as far as your other statement about throwing on L-Town, the two games that we lost last year were running teams, Veederville came out and ran over us in second half and Crosby's QB ran some long ones on us along with getting some timely stops. I agree with you on the new coach thing for the Jags, your guys whether experienced or not are always tremendous athletes, it'll be up to the coach to put them together in the right way. Wasn't he one of the assistants last year? Which to me means, although he has a new titile, the boys will already know what to expect from him to a certain extent unless he puts in an entire new system. I just don't see that happening with last years success.
  17. I said after last season that Vidor should make the post season this year and I'm pulling for them. BUT, I still say L-Town is going to take the crown solo this year.........shared by three.........shared by two........share it with noone. LOL ;D
  18. IMO, that's a really boneheaded move on dads' part, what happens if the kid has a career ending injury very early in his career? Does he go to work for McDonalds? He certainly won't be prepared for anything else. What I see here is a parent trying to cash in as soon as possible on a kids talent. The boy needs to get an agent, not his dad, and a lawyer to protect him before things get out of control.
  19. Seems like some of the stuff I read about Cleveland last year makes them out to be a pretty good team. You gotta give it to LCM, win or not, with their preseason and district schedule they have probably the toughest schedule in the area. The Massey ratings show them as having one of the toughest schedules in the state for 4-A. Yeah I don't know why we couldn't pick up someone the likes of deweyville last year in preseason. But what is the Massey ratings? BBS, the Massey ratings are one of many rating systems. They use factors such as strength of schedule, offensive power and defensive power to make their ratings. Because it's pre-preseason the main factor is strength of schedule right now, putting LCM head of everyone except Central and Nederland in our district. Your teams ranking right now is Little Cypress Mauriceville H S Overall 0.89 (74) Strength of Schedule 5.72 (40) Offense 9.29 (52) Defense 3.47 (64) Power Rating 6.43 (54), pretty impressive for before season stats. Although, like any other rating system, the proof will be in the pudding. Oddly enough, even though Lumberton expects another very strong defensive unit this year our rating is lowest in that column for us, in fact they put L-town at number 140 in the state for D in spite of having one of the best LB prospects in the country (yes I know, I have said one man doesn't make a team). To find the ratings just type Massey Ratings in your search engine, they rate all sorts of sports.
  20. I was thinking about this today. The best and most memorable high school games I can remember i got to see two years in a row. In my opinion, whether these two teams were leading their district or were cellar dwellers, this match up was game of the year even ahead of MCM. The game.........i'll bet some of you remember, it had a ton of energy and even the half time show was a sight to see............here it comes...........THE ONE THE ONLY------- [move]SOUL BOWL!!!![/move] Now I know you older guys remember Charleton-Pollard and Hebert going at it. My dad refereed it a couple of years and I got to go. I remember there seemed to be as many people at those games as at any play-off.
  21. I've seen in past years where L-Town JV and or 9th Grade would be one of the best teams in district only to crash and burn once they reached Varsity, of course those were Fuller days too, you know how that was..............pass, pass, pass, punt.
