  1. You know, what really got this started was the coaches attempt to limit the number of visitor fans by involving the Fire Marshall. Geez, if you see me at a Lumberton home game actually sitting in the stands, it's probably that ONE time a year I actually go sit in my seat before the game to see where it is (I buy season tickets 3rd row-50 yard line and never use it.) or I'm up there talking to someone for a second, otherwise I prefer to stand along the fence and move somewhat with the ball. As for the field, to me when it gets muddy, the game usually gets real good, that's when bad teams get better and good teams get worse, so I never have a problem with that. Now your bathroom situation there is a little short on space, lol, but hey, you got alot of trees around ;^). I'm not sure if the coach is fighting for his job or what, but don't try and limit the number of fans showing up, for one thing that has a direct effect on the $bottom line$ of the game, and if you're going to come up with a lame reason to get rid of our noisemakers, do it before the game starts NOT when there are two minutes left and that should go for the HOME side too. Now that's one issue I'm not gonna forget.
  2. Just one thing to say after watching the video link of the post game interview, in the related links section there, what does PNG football have to do with senior citizens? Do they think this is OLD news or something? : ;D Good game to both teams it sounds like.
  3. Actually, what I was thinking after going to the Livingston game and then watching Vidor/Central on TV was, it's kind of funny how 3 of the top Defenses in the area got scored on so often while the offenses for the same teams rang up alot of points.
  4. Not that the Livingston stadium is small, but when I ordered my ticket, I ordered a seat on the 3rd branch in the oak tree on the left, right next to the squirrels nest.
  5. A North Forest?!?!?..........LOL, just kidding bud, this will be a spanking, Dayton wins big.
  6. I heard that Coach Neuman has a new secret weapon for QB, one he's tapping from Helena Elementary on the playground squad. ;D Gotta giv e this to PNG, hopefully Nederland can get things back on track and prevent anymore injuries. To those who are injured, here's hoping a fast recovery to you.
  7. I wouldn't say we are being uppity, considering our stadium was built to it's original size in 1978 and then what maybe 6 or 8 years ago we spent bajillions to expand one set of bleachers to raise the stadiums capacity from about 7500 to 10,000. Livingston doesn't necessarily need to build a new stadium, just add more seating. If you take a ride up to Dallas across Hwy 175, you'll see smaller schools than Livingston way out in the middle of nowhere with better seating than you guys have. Sorry but it's the truth.
  8. Let's see, to begin with, a fax is sent to Lumberton about the fire marshall limiting the number of people, at an open stadium. First attempt to take the L-Town fans out of the game. Second attempt came at just over two minutes left when the same person (I didn't say it was the LIVINGSTON HEAD COACH) talks to the ref who comes over to the Visitors side and tells Coach C. that if the horns aren't stopped immediately Lumberton will receive a penalty, try and take the fans out again by shutting down both horns (truck horn in the stands along with the normal train horn). Unsuccesful again. For those of you listening to the game, if you could hear a horn blowing during the final two minutes, it was one on the Livingston side. Coach, YOU CAN'T SILENCE THE LUMBERTON FANS...........LMAO. ;D. Oh yeah, I did forget the announcer calling the play to spike the ball and stop the clock unbiased announcing at its' best. Other than that, the Livingston boys did a good job and nearly got us. Tighten up before next week D.
  9. My question for clarification though, WAS the substituted player moving off the field within 3 seconds or not, this has nothing to do with whether the opposing team is lined up, if you send a sub in and the player being replaced is moving around all confused before heading off the field once 3 seconds pass, it's a penalty.
  10. Man PNG, you guys are gonna love when you go to Livingston, you won't have to worry about the refs making bad calls, just about their announcer calling out what you are doing......LOL.
  11. I can't lie, I'm worried but, I still have to stand by my Raiders. Just got to make sure to tighten up on the Defensive side, the O seems to be clicking on all cylinders.
  12. I'm thinking at this point, Big Ned is looking at PNG's nightmare from last year. Maybe things will turn thouhg, look at what Dayton and Livingston both did the last two years after their first district loss.
  13. Just hang on Rollin, realignment is on it's way again, maybe, just maybe......
  14. It will certainly be a good test for the Vidor's highly rated offense and Central's highly rated defense. Which is going to give ground? Actually, according to Massey ratings, Central has the better Offense too, defensively though, Vidor is hot on Centrals' tail just 5 spots down at number 19, should be a low scoring game according to those stats vs. the offensive stats (C-80/V-104).
  15. Guys I realize to most people, scrimmages really don't count, but before you count out LCM, they did beat Texas City in a scrimmage. Just saying. Don't get cocky, I think these young guys can sneak up on someone and I believe they are going to "upset" at least two teams this year, just a feeling.
  16. Shake hand and if you feel the need to sing the school song then do it at the 50 on the visitor sideline.
  17. The Raider on crutches was probably Mark Purks, although they've announced his name in play in the last TWO games and he was out both , he's the back up QB although i hear he could easily be the starter, I think he also plays a little WR. He should be ready to play Friday as he has just been nursing a twisted ankle for the last couple of weeks. Anthony "The Beast" Beard hopefully is fully charged and ready to go althouh he has been working with a knee brace on, I think that is more safety than anything. The train will be pulling into Livingston fully loaded for Lion steaks.
  18. I think the best receivers don't even think about the guy coming at him unless it's a case of trying to beat him out for the ball. They seem to tune out the hits and think of nothing but the pigskin.
  19. Obviously it's one of those under the table discretionary rules where if both coaches AND the referee agrees then they let it run.
  20. Good deal Show and JDB, it's not about being high and mighty, it's about the fact that Lumberton brings alot of fans to all our games, that's all, some of us are deciding what our own game plan is. Personally, I prefer set ups like Lumberton has where there is a sidewalk that goes all the way across the front of the stands becuase I like to walk along with the plays to get a close view, hmmm, I guess you could say I'm just old and blind....lol.
