  1. With attitudes like FF's from mightier than anybody (so they think) Friendswood, I hope you guys go in there, take them into THEIR woodshed and use THEIR swtiches on them and leave them cowering for the rest of district. Go Wildcats, beat the wood.
  2. BHBadboy has all this right but I made a littel change on my opinion about BH 1. Dayton:2-0-Nobody has beat them yet in district, the defence is good, and their offence is getting better 2. Barbers Hill:2-0- These boys have the best chance of anyone in the district to actually dethrone the Broncs, I don't know if they can win it but Broncos beware, this won't be a blow out. 3. Crosby:2-0- The have rebounded from embarrassing preseason losses but I doubt they can beat BH or Dayton 4. GCM:1-1- Will make the playoffs barely 5. Galena Park:1-1- Not as bad as everone thinks 6.C.E. King:0-2- Won't return to playoffs 7. Kingwood Park:0-2- They are better in their second year 8.North Forest:0-2- They may not win a game

  4. And you lost to who?? Brazoswood? by 2 scores? ohh no, not the mighty friendswood team! surely that wasn't true. Maybe they messed up on that score... ;D ;D ;D No Soulja, it had to be a bad call... ;D
  5. Dayton was in the district with Jasper sometime around there too. I don't remember Vidor being in their with us but they might could have been. I remember LCM being in the same district as Lumberton most of the time and also being in the same district as WOS, Lincoln and Nederland for a while there too.
  6. I would say this is my final post on this matter, but hey, it's just Tuesday. First things first though, to say Livingstons' running game is better than Vidors', I really wouldn't want to step out on that limb if I were you guys. True, Livingstons' Quinton was an exceptional back and they got some rushing from other players as well, but you can't turn your backs on the fact that Vidor has multiple premier backs. As far as the strong run defense of Lumberton or Vidor and I will throw in Central with this statement, the 3 supposedly top D's faced strong opponents last week, two against each other and let me remind you, those 3 teams' two game were the highest SCORING games of district 20-4A. Secondly, no matter who wins, THIS WILL NOT BE A BLOWOUT BY ANY MEANS, we're talking most likely a win by one touchdown. This game will be decided by whoever can capitalize on the others mistakes and who makes the least mistakes, this is why I'm picking my home team because they seem to do that pretty well. One advantage Lumberton does have over most teams right now, TWO good quarterbacks. The other night when Hughes went down for a couple of plays, Mark Purks stepped in and right off the bat threw a beautiful 36 yard pass right on the money, I had heard he was pretty good but I figured that was just his proud dad talking, but the few plays he ran the other night, he looked pretty comfortable and took good care of the ball. The top four teams in this district in my opinion are now, Central, Lumberton, PNG and Vidor (not ranking, just alphabetic ), out of those, three of us are really going to need to shore up our defenses against what oddly enough we all do best, running, otherwise we can't count on more than 12 games this year. Oh, by the way, I saw the Lumberton Police pull over two speedsters drag racing last night, it was Kyler Keith and Lance Pace running sprints down the highway : .....LOL One final thought to the administators, either see if you can add a learn feature to the spell check or fix it where it doesn't show Vidor as a misspell. ;D
  7. There ya go ! Had he been on the list I sure would have voted for him, I'm still impressed with how he did against Lumberton. This kid can play some ball.
  8. I noticed you left Texas City, from your district out, probably because a 20-4A team has already beaten them.
  9. Any team that has trouble with the run is going to have trouble with Livingston unless they have some really fast athletes. The kid named Quinton is blazing fast when he gets in the open, luckily Lumberton has a couple of speedsters who were able to catch him. One thing Livingston does well is the counter so they will try and negate any big time D player by going away from them as they did with Anthony.
  10. Not to worry PFL, you'll have a slightly easier game next week against Ozen and then a real easy one on the 30th of October.
  11. I don't know what happened to get your hackles all up but I hope you get your chance to back up this talk come the playoffs. I don't think you will considering the size difference in the schools but I can promise you it wouldn't be near as EASY as you would like to believe. We at the HILL ain't as bad as everyone thought we would be. PNG played it's tail off to beat us and deservedly so. I think that's a pretty good team you are messin with so good luck. You get 'em Steele, the boy don't know what he's talking about, I said it after L-Town played ya'll, BH at that time was the best 0-2 team in Southeast Texas and I personally think if you guys don't put away Dayton, you will at least be 2nd in your district. As far as LCM, I'm betting they will beat Nederland just like Ozen did.
  12. Oh no sir, that's too simple, the loser should not only have to wear the other teams T-Shirt, but it should be along with a skirt of their home team color, maybe even a cheerleaders skirt. LOL ;D
  13. If they were blown out, I could see that being a point. But I wouldn't take a game you played great in as a lingering handicap. (Minus the fumbles of course) No kidding, look what Dayton did year before last or for that matter what Livingston did last year after losing their first district game to us, both of the teams went undefeated the rest of the season.
  14. I think your right on short. Especially about the 3rd one. Well, first of all, I said last week, when Veederville was number one that if they lost Lumberton would take the number one spot. Right now they rankings are purely on overall record and PF/PA. Now as far as Shorts' opionated list I see one serious problem (aside from the fact L-Town will take Vidor this week) "Memorial which would give every team in 20-4A he!!", a Central already spanked the TITans and last I heard they are 4A. LOL Also, if it were the BCS picking, Lumberton would be left out until there was one game left and still only if they beat all of their previous opponents by at least 45 points per game, the same would go for Vidor since neither team has a long history, earned or not, of winning.
  15. I don't think we're really the best district in the state, but you'd be hard pressed to find a more equitable district in any division. Here is what my new fanatasy district would be, maybe the UIL will pay attention, LOL: Barbers Hill Beaumont Central Beaumont Ozen Dayton LCM Lumberton Nederland PNG Vidor 2 preseason games and then POW you're in district play.
  16. And got out played the other 24 Vidor 42 Train 28 I still think Vidor brought in a new team for the second half, those guys played like they hadn't even been on the field yet, I can't remember ever seeing a team come out in the second half like Vidor did against us. I really wouldn't count on it happening twice though, you can bet Coach C AND the guys who were on last years teams, be it in the game or on the sidelines, will be ready for another attempted assault.
  17. I gotta disagree Soulja, Keith is fast, very fast. I watched this kid all summer run track. He was hangin with good competition until it went to Austin and San Antonio. He will beat Vidor all night. He will match the problems Vidor had with Daw. Vidor on the other hand will have that running game to counter. Their's another kid Lumberton have also that play opposite of Keith. Lumberton will score points. Just being a realist here Thanks for that information. Didn't know Lumberton had an athlete. This could be interesting then... my pleasure I can tell you both this, when livingstons rb would break free and everyone thought they would be gone all in a sudden kieth, and pace would run them down from behind. I for one was very surpised by this. and to be honest i believe the pace kid is faster than kieth and just a soph. wow Yeah, how'd you guys like that play when Lance ran the back down and caught by the ankle to stop the TD. I didn't notice if Vidor ran a bunch of counters like Livingston did all night, so you can bet the Beast will be gobbling up that middle run.

  20. and there's the first mention of derailment for this game, I think we're gonna be okay now. I do have a question, I saw this called as being a low scoring afair, since when is 35-28 low scoring? That used to be a high score. Central, Vidor and Lumberton seem to be scoring alot and the D's came up short in my opinion for all 3 teams, first one to tighten up on the defense takes district I say.
  21. I have one concern about this scenario nation, Guiterrez is still struggling, do you really think he can hit it from 42 yards out?
  22. I know this probably sounds strange coming from a female but why is there a lady announcer? I do not think I have ever heard a female announcer for a football team. Only females I hear in the press box is announcing the cheer squad or band. Does anyone else think a female announcer is a little weird? Most of the women on the TV networks do a great job covering football. I have yet to hear a female announcer though. I wouldn't have a problem with it, but she would have to be good, but then I can't stand a man doing a crummy job either. I'm with you, it's not the sex of the announcer that counts, it's the skill. Although I was thinking this was novel and kind of cool, after the game got going and you could see how completely unprofessional she was, it was no longer novel, just irritating.
  23. Okay, it took some searching but this is an excerpt from the UIL's sportsmanship manual: Page 12 "Behavior Expectations of the Media" Promote ideals and fundamentals of good sportsmanship. Recognize and appreciate the efforts of all those who participate in the contest. Refrain from making negative comments toward participants, coaches, or officials during a contest or in your story. Report acts of sportsmanlike behavior without giving undue publicity to unsportsmanlike conduct. Report facts without demonstrating partiality to either team. (How many times have we heard this happen.) While at a contest, refrain from making any derogatory comments about participants, officials or coaches. Always report positively about participants in your articles. Granted I am making the assumption that the UIL considers the game announcer as media since the only other references I can find only pertain to specific PSA's.
