Nope doggy, barring problems with LCM and Vidor, last game needs L-Town and Nederland to be 1 loss each to make it a great game, the CHAMPIONSHIP!
Hey Scalp, do you hope you're wrong on this one? ;D ??? ;D ???Not being bias in this one. If the same physical Lumberton team shows up Friday like they did last year, it will be a blow out. PNG has been pushed around the field all year long, and I'm talking badly. Our O-Line has been blown off the ball, and our D-Line hasn't penetrated a backfield yet. Lumberton 35 PNG 14 I hope I'm wrong, but unless the players dig deep and play for pride this could get ugly quick. PS I hope I'm wrong and PNG wins
I hope he's wrong. My Dogs need PNG to win this one.

Toups, if you don't already write for some sports page, you really should consider it......

Too bad the Pee-rats aren't included in the Orange bowl, I think this year the Black pearl would be sailing right through the 'StanksThis great for the the pirates to have this game now...they can rest and heal their players this week after about a quarter and get them ready to finish their playoff run. This is almost like a bye week but better because they actually get a little game speed experience and also get to rest and heal the ones that need it. Good luck Pirates on the rest of the way out. You have a good group leading you over there. Congrats to the kids too...keep doing as you are coached to do and you will be fine!
I hope the Bears win because of this post.
Keep hoping!

I predict that at the start of the game, there will be more players on the field than fans in the stands. Why do your folks show up so late????

Hey ref, I want to become a ref, will they let you do it WITHOUT having to run up and down the field with all those dang teenagers? I'd be willing to bet you know all those country HICKS refs huh..........Thank You! I am a retired ref! I love yelling at the refs as much as the next person. I just want to make sure that everyone knows that these guys go out and give a lot of there time for very little money. But 99.9 % of the time what everyone is yelling at the ref for, shows up on the film as a good call that could only be made by that ref because he was doing his job and was in the right position to make the call.
I will be the first to admit that REFS make mistakes. They are human! There training consist of joining the chapter, then getting thrown into a Jr High game with some guy who is still learning himself because all of the old experienced officials can't handle calling games 3 nights some times 4 a week because there old bodies can not handle it.
Most refs are pretty good, but the 99.9% effeciency rating MIGHT be a little high. ;D
It depends on which side of the call you are on. I always say "it's only a penalty if they call it".

L-town has alot of good athletes coming through the system now. The 9th grade is seen as the weakest class coming up, but right behind these guys the 8th grade team apparently has 4 players in particular who could be starting running backs on any area team. The 7th grade has alot of strong kids too. The program in L-Town has taken hold and should keep us in the W column for several years.

I know what folks in Lumberton probably consider to be the 2 best games our team has ever played. They had to be the Dayton game (yeah I went there) and what it started in first. Second would be the Lamarque game.
-
I personally am gonna give this game a big DUUUUUUUH, Ozen don't stand a chance. Centrals' D in my opinion is as strong as Ozens' and their O will end up running over Ozen. As far as the Soul bowl goes, I used to love going to that game, my dad called it a few times in his refereeing career and would take us with him. Awesome game and always the best half time shows. HEBERT AND CHARLETON POLLARD 4EVER!!! ;D
-
Lumberton's punter kicks the ball a country mile almost like he's mad at it. He's a 3-way player if you count special teams, anybody heard of him? Jacob Hannah............ ;D
-
Wouldn't it be sweet if somewhere out of the clear blue sky, all of a sudden someone from district 20-4a ended up representing region 3? I mean on any given night, who knows........... ???
-
LOL.yeah I realized that after I posted, should've removed it. For some reason as soon as I see the big N in your name my mind goes to the other side of mid-county........sorry.Wow NDN, you guys lose one gam and you drop your team to 4th, harsh.
Raider, PNG won't be one of the 4 representing the district. I believe Vidor took care of us last night. But its ok, its late...I understand. Best of luck to the Raiders....we'll see you at the new Rez!

This thread is almost heart breaking. I'm not pulling for PNG next week of course, but come on purple, ya can't give up on your boys.
-
I haven't seen Big Ned play yet, but I have seen Livingston. They are big, but I think if Nederland uses it's assets, in other words, BOTH the running and passing game I think they can come out on top. I'm pulling for Nederland on this and I call it as a high scoring affair, somewhere around 49 - 45, I don't think either D is going to slow the other a whole lot.

Definitely be careful what you wish for. LCM has had several coaches and look at where they are at. L-Town also has had a history of changing coaches as fast as underwear and it took forever before someone finally had the foresight and the huevos to actually give the job to someone already on staff that was proving a winner in the lower levels. Our last coach, Fuller was hired over the then DC Terry Poole and we saw what happened there, pass, pass, pass, punt, LOSE, whereas Coach Poole left for Hardin and took them into the post season like the next year. Don't throw a coach with a winning percentage overboard just because the team has an off year, do you think West Orange would do that?
Be careful what you wish for, Might not turn out so good. Good luck to both teams.
Yes, Matt is a good man but his time is up. He has been there longer than any other coach has stayed at PNG. and I don't want Long or anyone else who has ever coached there before. Would like to see a change like we did when we hired Malone. It is an attractive position, with good following and a new facility. No need to settle. We need a change don't u agree fan?
-
Actually I was referring to PNG's next 3 games, I figure they are going to be determined to try and knock off anyone they can, especially L-Town. IMO if, and that is if, we get by PNG and then don't lay down for LCM then as I said final game is for all the beans. Does that clarify my opinion better?
I caution you against ASSuming anything at this point. Our focus should be on PNG & PNG only.Unfortunately for L-Town and their next 2 opponents, PNG is going to be doing their absolute best to be the spoiler. I'm giving this one to L-Town again though. Final game of the year is now for District Champion. 8)

OOOOOoooo sorry PNG, fell clean off the radar there, maybe next year guys. :-\

Actually I think he's a WB fan, you know those snooty west enders. Just jealous that 5-a can only manage one good contender from the region unlike 4-a. Of course I don't understand that either, shouldn't Memorial have like nine million players to choose from?Just figured out. He's a Nederland fan. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

I'd almost be willing to bet that if they build a new high school then the junior high will inherent the current high school building. That's the way alot of districts do it including L-Town.If the board and administration are doing such a great job of 'solidifying' the academic standing in LCM then please tell me why so many teachers have left the district in the past three years? This year alone there were between 30-40 openings at the high school and in previous years the numbers were between 20-30! Then papa bear gets a promotion to the front office! Does anyone know exactly what he does in his newly created position ????
Why didn't the bond pass? So many people in LCM are tired of how things are being run in LCM. LCM needs more than a new head coach. For the life of me I can't understand why they would want to build a new high school before they rebuild the junior high. The Jr high must be the most dangerous campus in SE Texas with all 12 buildings that kids roam between.
