  2. Anyone going?? We bring the ENTIRE city when we travel!

Just a question, for a Nederland home game, do they show the visitors replays?

No. We don't even let the visitors cheer.

Back to reality. Nederland shows visitor replays.

nederland's crew on the PA and on the replay screen knows how to be unbiased. Some L-Town folks could take a few notes.

Enough about the announcers!!!!  You know your going to an away game,  I would not expect anything different when we go play on the road.

    not in high school.

but since you told me it was enough...  ::)

My appologies... my intentions were not to tell you what to say or do.  It was simply a generalization that people complain about the announcers too much.  I expect when we go play at someone elses stadium, for their announcers to be biased towards their team.

Don't apologize... just messing with ya. i know you weren't telling me what to do, etc. However there are guidelines outlined by the UIL including but not limited to the announcer producing a friendly atmosphere. I feel this includes being unbiased at certain junctures.

You know, I was one of the first to defend our announcer as unbiased last week, so I paid attention to what he was saying this past friday and I have to apologize. While I was walking up to the game they were just finishing announcing the names of the senior players and their parents, when he finished his words were something like okay now boys, let's get out there and beat the bears.........not unbiased at all.  :P
  3. Are you serious, we have an explosive offense, overall absolutely I wouldn't put us up there with Dayton, but offensively I wouldn't hesitate... not one second.

This Dayton team is getting close to playing as good as the Dayton team that clocked Nederland last year 63-0.

Nederland should thank there lucky stars they are in division I and won't have to get humiliated again in a Bronco stampede.

Hmmmmm, reading this post tells me then that L-Town could maybe beat this team by 2 points then? I mean your getting "close to playing as good".
  4. If I am not mistaken, this game is just as huge to both teams!!!  Central and Nederland are going Big School in the play-offs are tied in the standings.  Lumberton and Livingston are going Small School in the play-offs and are tied in the standings.  To say this game doesnt matter is a huge mistake to either team.  Does anyone know Bellows eligability for this game?  I believe he was ejected from last nights game.  Does this mean he has to serve a 1 game suspension, or is that not really a rule?  That would be a deciding factor for this game.

The bad thing for L-Town is that Bellows' ejection from last nights game will not have any effect on next weeks game, remember, Hannah was also ejected against Vidor, he played the next game. That being said what we need here in L-Town is to establish a passing game, I think we can contain Big Ned to an extent, but if we can't get the ball into the air we may have problems. Our biggest problem is that Ryan needs a little more time to set, our offensive line is so used to blowing people off the line for the runner which is great but they need to work on holding the line still. Think of it like water, you push your fist in and you are pushing water ahead of you but water also fills in behind, we need to become a dam instead and hold all the water back. The boy has an arm but he needs time to be more accurate, with as much running as we do, he doesn't get much practice picking his target, setting, then passing. We have one more game to figure this out, otherwise it may be a short trip in the playoffs this year.
  5. That's a pretty good analysis BigBlue...have you seen Nederland play?  For the most part, the defense has "contained" power running at times...the main problems have in fact been with speedier teams getting to the corner on us and fast QBs taking busted plays and turning them into big gains.

I hope your prediction is right...I think that vidor will have to play this game much like Central did by controlling the clock...this can be done, but Central did execute a very good game plan with very few mistakes to pull this off...vidor will have to avoid turnovers and penalties and make some big plays, much like Central did, to do this.

Yeah, I have been to more Ned games this year than I have Lumberton.  Mostly, because I live In Nederland Now(5 years)!!  Did not make the Livingston game (out of town), but Central could not run between the tackles against Nederland.  Besides one or two runs, most of their big gaines came[table][tr][td] from QB scrambles on 3rd and long.  PNG could not run the ball at all and from what I have heard, the QB from Livingston did everything.  From what I have seen, Nederlands' trouble is defending the pass.  I dont think that is Vidors' or Lumbertons' strong point.  Nor do I believe that Lumberton or Vidor has an athlete that can break Nederlands defense down like Central or Livingston.

ok just a little somethin to say about this.

vidor may not have great athletes but they will get aftter u.like their O-line.those guys are desent sized but they will get after u in a splite second.their O-line coach does a great job on gettin them to hit u from start to finish.they are desind to wear down their aponents deffense.that is their great athlete.(O-line).it doesn'thave to be just 1 player to break down a deffense.as long as u work as a team and hit them hard all game just as vidors O-line has done all year that alon will break ned's deffense.the offense will do just that and end up breaking bigggg gains in the 3rd and even biggggger in the 4th.haveing that said vidors deffense will hold the ned offense to a min.but our deffense will attack grogen and the 2ndary will be flyin around the feild to contain the passing game.

this will be a great game by both teams.a blowout will be no wear near this game it will be close.

    vidor still wins

    vidor 14-13

Pirate, I hope you ren't one of the players. If so, we may need to check your academic eligiblity.
  6. Lumberton is gonna come to an abrupt stop soon. Not they goin all the way!

Come on now, you know what it;s like to stop a train, by the time this district stops L-Town, we'll be in the 3rd round. ;D

Or they could run out of steam??

Of the train could be derailed by stampeding Broncos.

That would most likely be the fourth round wouldn't it?
