  1. You hit that right on the head!!!

Aw, guys come on, ST is just upset because there weren't any tiger stripes in the playoffs this year, that and the fact that had they stepped on any field these Raiders were playing OR practicing on they would have gone back to their mommas with their tails between their legs........LOL.

This IS the best Boys team to ever walk through the halls of Lumberton H.S. by far, with extra emphasis on "team".

  2. If Lamarque showed poor sportsmanship, then shame on them, but as far as crying and showing emotion...give the kids a break.  Regardless of how many games, championships, advancements that you when...these kids work their butts off to get where they are and for them NOT to show emotion would concern me, especially if they are seniors.   :'(

Actually Card, it wasn't the crying that most people are really complaining about. I mean we all understand that, to some of the players, it really was a heart breaking experience. No, what the biggest complaints about were the throwing down of the helmets, and the players who walked off the field without the customary post game congratulation handshake, AND the fact that some of their coasches even did that. This team showed absolutely NO class whatsoever. Even as bad as we beat Smiley, those young men showed the class of champions by going across the 50 yard line shaking our players hands. In the name of good sportmanship NOONE should expect any less. Those coaches are teachers too, and one of their jobs is to teach these young men respect for others, otherwise, if one of them makes it to the big time he will end up being like so many of the so called stars we detest because of their attitudes.
  3. My thoughts on this game after learning a little about Waller....

I fell that our offense is going to be able to move the ball just fine on the ground and a few in the air when needed....I think any defense would be surprised at the intensity that the offense is playing with right now...instead of running out of bounds when seeing a defense player coming....we take them head on and by the end of the game the defense player is the one shying away....I have seen this in the past four games so yes it is happening

Our defense....I think is just as hard hitting as anyone....I think if you asked the three or four LaMarque players that took more than a few seconds to get up if our guys can hit they might let you in on a little known fact that they got knocked the     out....

I have no doubt that Waller got where they are because they are big, fast, strong and hard hitting....I bet they are a great team just as LaMarque was but they are also beatable just like LaMarque....

Lumberton has been playing smart high intensity football and if they keep it up(which I see no reason they wouldn't) they have a good chance of coming away with a win

We have three great teams from the district who deserve alot of credit...unfortunately PNG had to take on the team that probably will take the rings home this year, fairly early on....Dayton is making great teams look like JV teams....and Lumberton is coming out with intensity that no other teams are expecting or prepared for....along with all our other teams in setx in the playoffs, we should be proud of them all....even the teams that didn't make the playoffs because of loses to teams that are now beating what have been recognized as great teams in the state for quite some time

I say we get Hollywood to film a movie about SETX football....any body know anybody in the biz???

"I say we get Hollywood to film a movie about SETX football....any body know anybody in the biz???"

I DO! I DO! Oh wait.....never mind, he just sells TV's at Wally World.....  ;):D ::)

  4. Geez, WOS92 I feel sorry for you, not because you're right or wrong but because your naturally gonna be attacked because of everyone's attitude towards the program over there. I mean most of the schools that have played against WOS have said that the boys are taught to kick, punch, pinch and yes even take a few cheap shots when they can get away with it or at least that's what the others THINK. I'm not saying they are or aren't. Everyone else, give WOS a break, we all have our opinions,  nothing to kick someone's virtual a$$ for you know. Lumberton won and that's that. LaMarque obviously needs an attitude adjustment and last night the first step was taken byt this so called cinderella(?) team. Let's concentrate on beating Waller next and I would suggest that any of our boys that received these myspace messages needs to save them and print them up and turn them over to the Lumberton administrators with a request that they contact UIL about them. If nothing is done then the parents should demand something be done. We keep talking about how classy we are supposed to be or rather we keep harping on how classy we are so let's really show class. Let Lamarque's problems go and look on down the line.

  5. Mav, I agree with most of your statement, EXCEPT, the bad officiating. All I saw out there was that the officials were establishing their authority over the game, early and often. That's why you saw so many sideline warning/calls. It didn't help the fact that although this is one of the nicest stadiums, besides our own with the sideline walk (hint hint to other schools rebuilding their stadiums), that this field had the smallest sideline area for teams I think I've ever seen. But once the boys and coaches at least on our side got used to this fact they learned where they could stand. I sat with my brother who's been an official for some 20 years and I can't recall him yelling much about any missed calls OR bad calls. Generally he'd start to say where's the flag and sure enough up popped a flag. This crew were from the Austin area and my understanding is that unlike the southeast Texas area they don't work on regular crews all the time so these guys were brought together for this game. This also means that only the best from their chapter are selected for these games as are officials from our area for other playoffs. I know anytime we see a call, we naturally aren't going to agree with it just because we want to see our guys do well, of course the same thing happens on the other side of the field. I just got on so I haven't seen the usual loser rants about how we stole the game or the officials gave the game away for them yet, but I'm sure as I worl my way through the posts they'll be there in black and white. Oh well, I guess I better shut up on my officiating defense and just say....................................................................

    GO RAIDERS!

  6. Well . . . that gets YOU some Karma AND another big hug when I see ya'.  Can't be there for Waller (have a daughter getting married) -  hope that doesn't get the L-Train mojo out of balance!

What.......you can't talk your daughter in to waiting an extra day or two?!?!?  LOL, w/o even knowing who you are I say congrats to you and your family and I think the L-Train will do its best to be around the next week so you can watch us again.

  7. Three weeks ago Dayton's last three opponents were getting votes to be placed in top 25 rankings state wide.

They have dismantled those opponents by a combined score of 152 to 14.

Over the last seven games, Greg Charles may be one of the most productive QB's in the state.

Dayton is gelling just at the right time.

This game Friday will be tough.

Went to practice today and watched about 5 minutes.

Charles was throwing bullets right on target while rolling out, and even hit about 3 40 yard fly routes right on stride.

Dayton's running back, Gable is probably averaging over 10 yards a carry in the last three games.

You really have to wonder if...

The competition was overrated or is Dayton just this good.

If Dayton can continue playing at the same level they will be very hard to beat.

    One game at a time...

Looking at these brackets, the future weeks are futile unless you take care of business this week.

Sure is exciting being a Bronco fan now.

Hopefully the Broncos can pull it off this week.

You know it seems odd, I keep seeing different references to Dayton either peaking or gelling at the right time, I'm just trying to figure out why it takes Dayton 7 weeks or more to "gel". I mean come on guys if you gel much longer you're going to spoil or turn in to useless rock solid Jello, lol. Greg Charles is obviously carrying the team, let's just hope for you guys sake he can keep going through out the playoffs.

  8. Might want to get your facts straight Scooter Eastex Freeway doesnt go through Hardin County.

Once again you speak before you think! Remember STTS  Stop-Think-Think again-Speak

Just one little correction here........both Highway 59 in the Houston area and of course Highway 69/96 in the Beaumont area are nicknamed Eastex Freeway so technically the Pine Island Bayou bridge can I guess legitimately be referred to as an or the Eastex Freeway bridge......

  9. During the PNG game at one point in the game GP did something good and a guy jumped up and started clapping and hollering for GP and myself and others were wondering why he was not on the other side being that GP only had about 200 people on their side. I found out that the group of people were from Vidor, I was kind of shocked. I just did not understand why he was even there or why he was not sitting on the other side, I assume that he thought that we were going to lose therefore he wanted to be on our side to rub it in our face. That was about the only time he had anything to cheer about and midway through the 3rd quarter the whole group was gone. Unbelievable, I guess years of torture will wear on some people.

LOL......You know it was close to the same way at the L-Town Smiley game. If you've seen the Barbers Hill stands then you know that the visitor side would barely hold a 2-A team and yet Smileys fans didn't even fill it up. Another opponent was drowned out by the roar of the L-train fans. My ears weren't ringing saturday morning this time but they were during the game. Get Loud, Get Proud, Turn it loose boys!!!!

  10. Would like to tell the Raidernation band that Friday nights show was the best I have seen from our Band in some years. I am glad to see that the band stepped it up for the playoffs, was very proud of yall. I hope yall bring the same kind of show this Friday!!!

I'll second that, it was a good show. I was just disappointed that Smiley didn't do much of anything. I wonder if that's what they've been doing all year, it was the smallest band I've ever seen fielded by any team larger than 2-A.

  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    La Marque Football

    Team Stats

Total yards    First downs    Rushing yards    Yds/Att    Passing yards    Yds/Catch

    3262             151              1369                 4.09        1893                13.06

    Lumberton Football Raiders

    Team Stats

Total yards    First downs    Rushing yards    Yds/Att    Passing yards    Yds/Catch

    3633              199             2457                 5.92        1176                14.34

Personally I think if L-town plays like they did against Nederland they will be virtually unstoppable and go all the way to state. We did a number on Smiley but I still feel that at the Nederland game the boys executed better than any other game this year. Lumberton will beat La Marque, it's in the stars. L-town 33 L-Mar 17.

  12. Call me an idiot if you please but I have read every thread about dayton and Lumberton and never once has anyone from Dayton "whined" about the loss they have promised it would not happen again but that is not whining in any context.

Obviously thE Dayton boys haven't looked at the logo on the Lumberton helmets very close. If ya'll had you'd notice that the Raider is riding that bronc all the way to a touchdown........lol. GO L-TOWN.....LET IT LOOSE!!!!!

  13. With no Freshmen or JV games, I'd dress as many as players as I had uniforms.  There's strength in numbers.

Just keep in mind guys, it's not necessarily the numbers that count but how big the heart is. Remember, Kelly (how many do they dress out, maybe 30 or 40) spanked the Sulphur Tors (a Super 5-A team by Louisiana standards) and they dress out probably between 60 and 90.......huge team at least when L-town played them a couple of years ago.
