1. Selig just said no, the call stands.....Once again, ML baseball is a dying sport.....
 2. That's about right. They ain't cheap. You can imagine how poorer ISD have to get their uniforms sewed up when they get ripped. The uniforms generally have to last several years.
 3. Am I missing something? When is homecoming????
 4.
Well this is a sports forum... I think you should take these types of issues up somewhere else..
Let's see, a million dollars for a scoreboard for a SPORTS stadium and it is not an issue?????? Typical, I don't care, it's good for me, to heck with everyone else.
 5.

I surely hope none of the money comes from cutting out those cool pizza cutters they give out at ballgames.  I was hoping to get a few more for Christmas presents.  Maybe I'll deposit more money so they can do both.
:D  Those are great.  I got a free Education First pizza cutter a few years ago at a game and I use it all the time!
And those we don't mind.....And trust me, money is pulled including my 80+ year old Mother who taught 39 years. She moved her CD to another credit union. One of our teachers spoke to the CU president and she is so mad, he basically told her " Oh, you'll get over it." Her money is gone. BTW: If you are not a member, how can you comment? Why don't call your financial institution and tell them your rates are Okay, put some major bucks into Lamar.
 6.

I am telling you, several moved money to other institutions today. It was the million dollars, trust me, it is "our" money, and we don't want Education First start thinking they are Chase Bank or Citi Bank.
Education first would go out of business if they stopped reaching out for new customers.
You are not "getting" it. We feel we are getting rooked by our own credit union, one many of us supported in the start. It has grown to the point we feel they do not care about the average teacher anymore. We are starting to get the 3rd degree when we try to get a loan for a vehicle, and this is with those of us with excellent credit ratings. Then, instead of getting us a better interest rate on our deposits, they cough up a million dollars. ( And I know it would be tiny, but it would at least be an attempt.) This is a credit union, it isn't a bank. They do not have stockholders. The owners are the people with the money in the bank. BTW: North, go at it, see if you can make up the difference with your deposit....And while you are at it, buy more season tickets. I can't afford them. I am sending my kid to college. The same college my credit union gave a million dollars to.....Or former CU later this week.

 8. I have not been happy with " The Teacher's Credit Union" as it was once called. I joined in the early 1980s when I first got out of college. I have been a teacher  and member all that time. It seems my small credit union has gotten too big for their britches by giving $1,000,000 to Lamar for the new scoreboard. It is not just me, everyone who had money this morning in the teacher's study is looking at other credit unions. To a teacher from a not wealthy district a million dollar scoreboard is a luxury, not a necessity. I think my district spent right at $9 million dollars to run three campuses in 08-09. Trust me, my district would have loved to have had  a fraction of that money for book for the library, or a new smart board. Do I think that it will improve the membership in My credit union by advertising on a scoreboard? No, when is the last time you actually put your money into a financial institution that advertised at a ballgame? I am sorry, my money is gone from Education First by the end of the week. I hope others follow suit. Is anyone on the board a member of MCT Credit Union? Are you happy with them?
 9. I just found this story...I can't believe it.....
 10. I was sort of shocked at the amount of hatred towards the young man on the Yahoo Comments for following his heart and beliefs rather than the dollars.
 11. KVLU was taken over by the "adults" in the 1970s. For a time, they would allow student type programs. They have never really had sports broadcasts. I remember back in the late 1970s as part of a speech class, doing a radio play about 10pm one Saturday night. I think the only people listening were the student's parents, and girlfriends/boyfriends..... Now on KVLU all you pretty much get is something like " The Cleveland Symphony Orchestra and the Brandenburg Concerto #4 in G Major."....:D
 12.
ABC reporting that Elin is filing for divorce.
The Austin American-Statesman is saying she is asking for $500 million.  :o
 13. I don't know, in this time of recession, I don't know if I would be adding another sport. I think I might look at another math or science teacher pt/ft for what it would cost for swimming.
 14.
After reading the news paper and listening to the news, its probably only 50 percent of the real story.  I guess BISD wanted him to just sit there and keep his mouth closed.  Next the guy starts throwing popcorn or skittles, then what?  If his team was not with him and he wasn't on the clock, he should have kept his job.  Discipline him some other way.  Good luck to the boys on the team.  I don't believe he is out of coaching though.  He will resurface somewhere locally.  Once your a coach, its hard to let it go.
This is why it getting harder and harder to find men (and women) who will stay in the business. Many who coach basically give it up and stay in the classroom. ...or go into another field.
 15. Man, just when it couldn't get any worse...... :( [Hidden Content]
 16.
He offered to pay her $50,000,000 to stay.  I think she said she'd agree "for the sake of the kids"...LMAO...Yeah right!!!! I asked my wife last nite if this situation was happening with us, would she stay.  SHe said "Hedouble L  NO!!  I have too much pride". I started to laugh  hysterically. ...she reached for my golf bag...I got into my truck, sped out the driveway, hit two dogs and a trash can.  ;D
I was wondering who hit  my trash can...... ;D ;D ;D
 17.
The whole prenup thing is interesting to me.... as is the renegotiating and giving her more $$ to stay. Everything I have is my wife's and vice versa. I guess I just don't understand what having that magnitude of wealth is like. I know if she stays, she'll stay for the kids probably, but the negotiations just seem cold and too business like for a relationship.
No, at my house, everything that is my wife's is her's and everything mine is her's.... :P
 18.
I'm really startin to feel sorry for this guy.
I am in a profession in which I must act a certain way. I must have a code of honor. I accept this code for much less money than Tiger. He complained years ago to Arnold Palmer about having to live up to certain standards, and Arnie told him, if he was unhappy, "give the money back." He sold the American people the fact he was a "Family Man" that was part of his "sales" image. ABC News has now has him linked to 9 women. If my boss knew I had cheated on my wife with 9 women, and the community knew about it, I would be out of a job. I don't feel sorry for the man. He brought this all on himself. This is even more true if it is proven he was under the influence when he wrecked. ( I think he got special treatment if the DA's Office in Florida didn't Okay a blood test.)
Quick pic and walk away.
Too fat to do anything with anyway....
 20.
I mistakenly called his wife Erin, but it is Elin. I corrected it. I don't feel sorry for rich people. They think they live by a different set of laws and sometimes, it's true. If this happened between myself and my wife, she would already be in jail and possibly me too.
Yep, we would have been in jail.....And my employer would be asking for my resignation on Monday.
 21.
Enough money was spent on that city to build 2-3 replicates.
I think the term maybe " blown."
