1. A coach must have the respect of his players to be a good coach.  The players need to feel that no matter what their coach will have their back. There are many former and present players who do not respect Gilligan.  They do not play baseball for him they play for their team and themselves.  I cannot tell you how many times in the past 10 years I have sat and listened to these young men express their disdain for him.  Yes there are players who have been drafted that come back and work out.  Some admire him but many do not.  Whoever addressed the issue of past players coming back to watch games.  I have several that work for me that will not step foot at the Beck as long as he is there.  A lot goes on that the general public does not hear about and it all does not have to do with coaching or baseball.  It is a shame that a once great coach has allowed this program to deteriorate so bad.  Recruiting...we do get great talent,,,,it is what he does to their heads and hearts after they get here.
2.

Who starts this week?
I have a feeling that if Bevil is healthy, he will get the start. Woodard was asked in the SLC phone presser today, but said he would not comment on depth chart situations.
There is so much to say about this situation but it is just fruitless to comment.  I will say that I was there during the Ken Stephens era and I remember going to Cardinal Club luncheons after a string of losses throughout his carreer and the sick feeling I (and others around me) had and frankly, I am starting to have those same feelings.  Again, I hope that I am wrong and I want LU to be successful, and apart from the head coach being an absolute moral and social ingrate, I don't mind who is the coach that leads them to success.  I personally do not know a single person involved with the coaching staff and administration, so I have no axe to grind.  As an unlearned fan, I have no doubt that I am incapable of doing as good a job as where we are, but I just don't get a feeling of comfort that in the long run, we will be successful on the road we are traveling now.  Once again, I am for the current regime to be wildly successful, just dissapointed in what is being said and the results.
Again OMG  OMG  OMG.... This is a new team.  Many many teams do not even win a game their first of second season.  We won 5 the first and 3 so far this season and maybe we might win one or two more.  Give this program a chance.  No comparison at all to the Ken Stevens years.  this is a start up squad and we will eventually be successful.  For all those who do not attend while we are loosing...keep it shut.  For those of us who are there and support these guys through the good times and the bad.  I say thank you and GO BIG RED>>>>>
3. *&*&^&@%^!8&^@^%%$!+~*  Give this program a chance.  OMG  it is in the second year of a start up program that went 5-6 in the first year.  Pretty damn good if you ask me.  I had visitors with me last night and even though we got the dog poop beat out of us, they were impressed with some of our hustle and heart.  Also we are young, had some good showings at time.  For those of you who are arm chair quarterbacks.  Give it a few years.  As far as the crowds.  I am not surprised.  Southeast Texas has been known for their apathy.  What disappoints me the most is the lack of showing of students.  Where are all the Greeks and service organizations.
4. Go away Basketball25,  no one wants to hear from you. the same garbage year after year......Texas plays 3 teams, Brown, Oral Roberts, and Houston Baptist all ranked 250 and up....Go to there forum and rag on Augie....
5. Hey guys maybe if we ignore him he will go away.  SOS every year from b....b..ll25.  There are many reasons that there are not "A lot" of big name schools that come here.  Until last year there was no place for them to change.  No visitor locker room and now they can use the soccer building.  Also again Texas travels very little except for conference play and G refuses to schedule teams away if they will not come to play in Beaumont.  As far as Gilligan goes "25" will never quit ragging on him, there is too much dislike that comes from family history with G...
6.
Nice home cooking...
Kingkat....get a life...why is there always somebody who has to be mr negative....this has been one of the best events to hit Bmt in years...yes not everything has been perfect... A lil sloppy at times. But we r winning.. FYI. Those airplanes were a group out of college station. Not crop dusters..and so what if they had been ..rice farming is an integral part of set...we thought it was great....what a great day for lamar
7.
Lamar 80 + yard punt return TD called back.  Horrible call.  Ref that called it was on the other side of the field.
Actually was right call before flag thrown comments in our suite were made.  Very nasty hit..
8. I have my tickets already but could use a few more...Does anybody have any tickets for the game Saturday?  I know of several people looking for them.  LU needs a resale website like A&M and Texas where season ticket holders can sell their unused tickets. You can email me [email protected] or send me a message.
9. I can assure you that Jason Henderson the compliance AAD did his homework and this kid is eligible or he would not be on the field.  Jason does a great job and knows the rules.
10. Friday was last day to buy tkts at lu for mcneese game .  You have to call mcneese for tkts
11. Oct. 2 won't be a good assessment either... We're talking about long-term stability and growth of a program. If anything, SHSU could conceivably be YOUNGER than the Lamar program! Perhaps in four, five years - we'll see which first-year head coach did it right! The old Texas Terror assistant Woodard or the energetic, proven winner Fritz...
OMG,  Notice that TT is setting up for no matter what happens on Oct 2,  If he gets beat or if the beat us....get off the fence
12. What ages?  Are the coaches allowed to work with High School students outside of a camp setting?
13. NorthoftheBorder.....I like you and your thoughts......BR 360- Go get TT and Hipster...(Hipster????)  Haven't even played a down yet and TT is ragging....ragging....ragging. This is a NEW program, transfers are a great way to bring experience and leadership to a team.  In future years you will not have as many transfers because you will bring in younger kids to groom and move into those leadership position. Ray Woodard is great.  Love his attitude and also at how hard he has worked.  He is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Why don't you grouchy folks at least give us a few games, then start ragging, Oh, that's right not a happy camper, so lets rag on Lamar sports.  Hey Hipster must be kin to Baseball25......
