CE King 62 - Kingwood Park 7
Just had to through that in
Wish I could be at the King - Dayton game. Don't know much about either this year.
Maybe BH fan can give me a little insight.

In the SLC, do you know what the ratio is of attendance to enrollment? Just curious who's bringing 'em in. (I have a fairly good guess but ...)
-
I would guess 30 if you can get the proper mix of JuCo's, xfers, and freshmen.
You wouldn't want to leave yourself "lopsided" in your 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes.
-
Just a few "fair use" clips of the game for discussion and comment on LU Football.
Not sure how long I'll leave this clip up.
-
Watched this one on the gametracker when I got home.
Clicking between Dayton game and LU Gametracker.
Love the Internet.

Looks like it's a Q' mark right now ... but there are always a few diamonds in the rough that don't get the Sr. year Feb signing date nod (for whatever reason - wrong HS position, etc) that turn out to be more than outstanding college players. I can't wait until 2010 to find out who those were.
-
Where do you think they got the 14,640 enrollment for the '89 media guide ?
-
Thanks, good stuff. My wife was a twirler 88 and 89. We enjoyed watching that along with our daughter. Hard to see but we knew where to look.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the link Terror. That's pretty cool they are putting the old media out there. I may get a copy of the 88 game when they post it as well. Yeah, '88 was a hard fought game both during and just after that game?
-
I think they'll add it very soon.
They're gonna want it out there if they are going to start "an extensive walk-on program this fall"

;D Christmas in May - Baby.

We can make it different. Just yellow the teeth a little and black one of them out.

"Lamar University is nine months away from signing its first round of football recruits in more than a generation."
Ouch ... I'm not one to worry about my age or growing older ... but that stung a little when I read it. Time slips away before you know it.
-
Wow, you sure racked up a lot of reads in a short time on this thread.

USL was the only place we were instructed to wear our helmets while on the sideline in order to keep from getting hit in the head with ice (or anything else).
Also, in '88 we lost at SHSU by 2 points and got in a big fight after the game when a SHSU fan handed Coach Alborn a black rose. (I was at around the 50 talking to SHSU Coach Moot). That lead to one of only two promotional items I remember from '88 '89 when the '89 game vs SHSU was deemed "Rose Bowl II" and black shirts were made up. Of course none of this was a fan on fan violence thing and schools and police need to jump on that when it occurs. There's a line that shouldn't be crossed. People are taking their families to these games.

The only thing I'd add to that is that it'd be good to pick up a few transfers that weren't already redshirted. That way they can sit out their transfer year during the '09 year and then finish out their eligibility. That would add some strength at the start and maybe give a kid another year of college paid for that they wouldn't get if they played their 4 straight wherever that happen to be now.

That was a fun game!
It was a night of firsts for me:
1st time I sat that high up
1st time I waited that long at the concession
It might be the first time I did the wave in the Montagne

I'd have to agree. Lamar should be primed for a fresh start and well rounded athletic program.
-
I'd have to say - just regarding actual plays - would be the '88 Fball game vs Arizona State. One of the plays that sticks out in my mind is a multi volly'd pass from John Evans to Robert Allen (offense alway gets the glory). As time ticket off the clock in 3Q the pass was deflected up by Allen, deflected up by AzState DB or LB, then a diving catch by Allen. The crowd cheered for the possible INT by AzState but then seemed to end up cheering at the play.
Regarding Bball - I'd have to say the slam vs UTSA this year was sweet.
-
I was afraid that one might be to easy. This is like t-ball for atr!
-
We had a little can music pre-game tonight at the women's game right before lineup announcements. It adds a little something something.
-
I just saw that Eugene Seale has taken LB coaching job with the Demons.
What's a good trivia question here .... Ok, what's the LU connection?
-
Yeah - kinda what I was wondering. You would be "unfairly" pursuading these select Sr's etc to go to Lamar. Maybe ok if they didn't play. It's kind of a kin to a couple of UoH games I went to in late 80s. They would invite local players to the game, left tickets at will call and brought you down on the field a while during the game. (That was their old Astrodome days)
