  1. where did u get stealing from?  Where do u get 12-15 from? since most basketball programs have about 50 players throughout the program.

All that was said was that the kids have no boundaries, they can go to any of the schools they want, do to the magnet title. But the bisd does not have to follow the uil rules of being a magnet school, since like u said they are not true magnet school.

So simply put they are allowed to get sny athlete they want, and still stay 4a.

You tell me how that is fair

  2. since when does magnet programs not fall under uil rules??

but u are rt, not being a true magnet is how they get away with not being 5a. But they still are able to have the whole bisd kids go to what ever school they want.

no one said the kids where stealing players from other programs. And if u think there are only 12-15 kids in a program, u are way off.

kelly and heritage pull from all the public schools so there what is???

kelly and heritage dont participate in the uil  so their rules are totaly different. They also dont participate agaist the other uil obeying teams

  3. Still won't matter...Just try to get IN the playoffs next season in basketball...Just shoot for 2nd....or 3rd place next season...1st is OUT OF THE QUESTION, but 2nd or 3rd would get you IN... 8)

if the school i rooted for got to choose from as many as ozen did, i would never be bragging about winning district ever year. Hell they are supposed to, they have an unfair advantage. I would only and i mean only brag if they won state.

You know and i know dickie, that your brother used to complain about Ozen having an unfair advatage also, until central was named the future docors of america. Since they where named that, central now has a better 9th grade class than ozen.

Dickie who is going to out coach who tom?  remember u say if the favorite team wins, that the winning coach always out coached the losing coach.

  4. Wow...did not realize BISD had no boundaries...with over 100,000 people in Bmt and only 13,000 in the LCM area, no wonder we could not get Ozen when we played them...we were building, but kept getting the same types of players, the ones from our area. Wonder if we got us a medical magnet going, and got some of those WOS kids in there.....It might help us in our athletic programs and we would have some more students headed toward medical school....I'm headed toward the Adm. Bldg right now to see the Suuuuup...I'll let you know what they say at a later time...Until then...off-season better be going gooooood !!!

  5. "build it and the they will come' ..I love that movie..the only problem is that is what Duke and Carolina,

Indiana, and UCLA should be saying...Most high schools in our grand state can build it and continue to play with the kids within their schools boundaries...and don't say the city of beaumont is Ozen boundaries, because if so, that 4a district would only have 7 teams in it....

  6. Actually Bluedove, that is the answer, and was back in the day, and has not changed.  The problem is the parents of today don't take care of their kids problems early....Do it , let them know who is in control and let them know when they are wrong, and the key is ...don't let them forget! They will be better for it in the long run. Some parents tend to live through their kids. When this happens kids get spoiled, don't learn humility and become chronic whiners, soft sometimes and think someone owes them something......Not Good....Recipe for ...FAILURE !!!!

  7. AAU...good for some kids, and not so good for others.  If the individual kid can understand it is a way for him to gain exposure for the next level, BUT only for that purpose, it can be a positive experience.  The problem occurs when the kid can't handle the attention, becomes selfish, cocky, and his h.s. experience becomes lackluster.  Some kids worry about the next level, but forget about the level they are in.  Work habits suffer and the importance of their high school team becomes minimal....i've seen it and it is sad because what happens is the kid becomes satisfied where their skill level is, and as you know ,you do not stay the same, you either get better or worse.  What happens next??? The kids who were not as good at one time have stayed hungry and passed the "AAU" kid up...and it is over, the kid wondered what happened and everyone saw it coming, but HIM.  The kid then moves on to the city leagues and becomes a stud......the problem??? WHO CARES...Not that AAU scout or coach !!!!
