PNG's Coach Faircloth wired on KFDM.com
team first replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Malone didn't drop off, he got 2nd in the tougher district than the year before with sislbee and Jasper being in the district, then lost to much better Lamarque team in the first round. Sislbee and Jasper where two teams he beat in the playoffs the year before, joined the district the 2nd year -
Hey AAW, Heard those tigers are headed to Nederland tournament in December is that true? If so who else is in that tournament down there?

Good point, and you are correct...A College team will not win a championship without those. The thing is, there is time to do all of those at the next level. Time is a little short on the high school level, and skill level must be the first priority. If kids can find time to get stronger thats an extra benefit!!! -

As long as there are no weight work-outs while a kid should be working on his basketball SKILLS..But if a kid is going to get hurt, hes going to get hurt, weight lifting may help, but he may get hurt lifting, who knows.. I remember one time this team had went to the weight room for the first time all year. About 15 minutes into the workout, all the kids wanted to go back to the gym and compete. Well, they went back to the gym. That team was pretty good, I guess..Hard to keep the rats out of the gym..They used to punish teams, Its called dribble, pass and shoot, there is no substitute!!! -

Was the question, "If Silsbee did not have the universal off-season, would they have 2 state championships right now"? If so, I would say yes!!! Sorry, but they are quick and athletic enough, if they would have been more skilled they would most likely have 2 right now!!! Universal off-season, as I have already stated is not the answer. Silsbee was good enough, in the eyes of a few!! Just didnt reach their potential, but got that tired pulled across the field. -

Yes middle school success equals one thing, Middle school success. If you dont do the right things for progression, the potential will be lost. In Basketball, for example, Take the avg to above average athlete. You may lift him for 3 yrs and improve him athletically. Still wont be enough to overcome the better athletes. Its called genetics, its crazy. But if you teach him the game, improve his dribbling , passing and shooting.Well guess what. Middle school succes now becomes high school success. Seen it , more than once!!!!!!!! -

I love when the posters put a foot in their mouths and you say ahhh....now I see why.First the 50 minute athletic period dedicated to skill level. Makes a difference buddy. Turns a program. Skill level improves and SHAZAMMMMMMMMMMMM you now have some magic. It is amazing what happens. Next. Larry Bird. That guy was bigger faster and stronger. Coudln't dribble, pass or shoot. Knowsnotenough..Try another argument.Horns winning football games is great, but if the other athletes arent given the RIGHT opprotunities to have the same success, somebody may be well, looking for a job..It might have happened before??? And my favorite.....Look at Michel Jordan, he lifted on game days? this is so true.....But what also may be true is, he could play a little before he got a little stronger. Skill again, always comes first. No skill, and lifting , just helps the guy down at the beach with the ladies. Well at least I hope he gets some benefit. I love sarcasm. If you dont know what your talking about, get off the site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Skills at the PARKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. Come on! -

This thread comes down to one point...Student /Athletes no matter what sport, should have the same opprotunities as the next guy that walks beside them in the hall. Get ready for football, do it. Basketball, go ahead, and so on. This is public education we are talking about. These school administrators should give these kids the best chance to win and have enough of a clue when things arent done right. Public Education is about serving kids. Hire a coach, let him coach! -

Wow..The ole universal off-season trick...Is good for who? All this does is help the testosterone levels. From a basketball perspective this is not a good idea, evverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. There are no ifs and buts. Someone already said it, let the basketball coach run a program. This game is about skill level. If you can bench 250 and shoot 20%..Get ready for track. The successful programs in this area have a basketball specific class. If a program like a silsbee or ozen ever does this, they will most likely still win because of tradition, little dribblers, athletes, etc. but never reach their full potential. Most people who agree with the univ. off season stuff didnt play or know too much about the game..Sorry. There is no argument! -
20-4A predictions for 2010-2011
team first replied to bojonomore's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
1. Ozen has good guard play and big kid back 2. Central has most talented guard back with others back 3. LCM has almost everybody back 4. Nederland has some pretty good ones back 5. Vidor only lost a point guard 6. Livingston, lost 2 or 3 good ones but they are loaded at younger levels 7. PNG is always tough with a kid named Dotty and some other experience back 8. Not sure ( Lumberton ) Note: Heard the Livingston coach is headed to College Station! Overall Picture: Will most likely come down to the last game like this past year. -
nah computer still up. I just figured i wasnt suppose to post, since that is what all the tx fans did last year after the championship games. Good luck to tx, cant wait to see them face the SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC
Yes, Brevell has paid his dues and probally should have taken the BC job a couple of year's ago but he knew Stone would be leaving and under the old regime the job would be his if Stone endorsed it. But there is a new regime in town now and several people and player's don't believe Brevell is the man that Faircloth will want leading a new era. Inside source say's Faircloth will be bringing a new coach to the area. I'm sure we'll all know something real soon!
Its Brevell job, or i promise you Stone will not be stepping down. -

i believe the braves are also 2-0, according to the results -
Even in an off year LSU takes Texas down. Heck Texas couldn't even win the Big 12 Tournament. In fact, Texas has trouble winning the big game in all sports.
So True!!!

LSU LSU LSU, just like where we left off last post-season. 2-0 in the toughest conference tourney. Anyone know what time tx play today ???
