Upset Tonight???/Kansas survives, beats A&M 59-55

Aggie proud, Aggies had a shot, but didnt get it done. Program is still climbing, even after Billy G. departed. Good recruiting class coming in. Staff is also doing an excellent job, especially on the def. end of the floor. Great fan base to win, great facility, and getting more respect each year. Plenty of things to be fired up about. Kids graduating, playing with class and competeing night in and night out. Have to find a consistent 3pt threat, all you need is one! Future is bright. Gig Em. -

Best High School Basketball game??
team first replied to UncleDrew's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Actually Labradford Smith graduated from Bay city in 1987...Not bad.Dropped 39 on M. Jordan one night in the league. The next time they met, Jordan had 35 at the half, and went on to blow em out. L. Smith could fly, but had a short stint in the league with Washington. -
SETXsports Weekly High School Preview Show
team first replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think the kids name is Killan not sure about his first name..Kid is about 6'6 and is getting better. the thing is, he has been sitting until this year. One year makes a huge difference for the kids who work. -
Montagne Center Playoff Preview
team first replied to The Cook's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Love to see a preview..good basketball while teams are at their best. Montagne or even Lamar p.a. would be good, but assuming Bmt. would be a better fit. P.A. Memorial vs Yates would be a good one to watch. -
Nederland @ Central Updates... Bulldogs win!
team first replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
These officials did a good job. I also think they tried to contol alot of the game, where really was not a concern. The taso group here does a good job for the most part, but there are only so many good officials out there.I will say this, they will be at the games and they will be on time, and thats a positive. Cant say that for the other group -
Hamshire Fannett Basketball Program
team first replied to BLUEDOVE3's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Genetics,,sure thats anywhere. The H. F. lit. Dribblers program ha been good for years..Problem? Kids have to keep working and progressing. Not sure how the H.S. program is set up..Ex. Bsketball kids with their coach when they should be, or all-sports and kids together in off-season? hard to get any better in any other place except the gym..3a Universal off-season is my bet. tough to win. -
i wouldnt forget about deron, i have a feeling he will be rt there for a spot

Frank breaks two school records, helps Ozen win
team first replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Consistently what...getting techs....Franks is quicker , has more range and better handles..he also plays harder than Jacovan did...Jacovan has better D1 build, stronger, but both can see the floor very well..Both made H.S. basketball look easy..Consistent scoring??? You just dont go out and score 48, shooting like that every night...The kid was in a zone, big time,,, but I have seen him score in bunches over the years! -
Frank breaks two school records, helps Ozen win

Best guard to come through Ozen in my opinion..Saw him check in the state championship game when he was a freshmen, to get the ball up the court. In front of 15,000 plus he never looked like he was nervous, did not know any better. The kid is a D1 talent no doubt, if he gets it together. If Jacovan can, this kid can! -
Doty is very good..but that is hard to duplicate, at any level.
-
Where are the officials. The athletic director called sub varsity games. Why cant Ozen ever get offcials and ever start on time? This is amazing to me , does anyone hav an answer..Sometimes when I go to watch, there are coaches calling games...Where is the organization, please tell me. This is very annoying!

Yates' 100-point streak ends in win over Westbury
team first replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
They are trying to do it in style, trying to score 100...AAU style...If they were doing it with class...they get to 96 and hold it..shake hands and be respected for it....Most likely then everyone else wants you to coninue to have big time success! -
Yates' 100-point streak ends in win over Westbury
team first replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Blue, come on buddy..Big difference in public school basketball and the AAU world...One huge difference is that the public school coaches and system have been educated about sportmanship and class...This guy could never lose and not have my respect..It's about one thing only for him.." LOOK AT ME" and my scores..But some are right on here, they only know how to play one way, and that is WITHOUT CLASS!! all goes back to the leadership doesnt it?...This is the AAU mentality that we hear about all of the time. This last episode says it all... -

they're fouling when up 30 to get the ball back so they can score more points? that's ridiculous. it kind of takes the air out of the whole "if you can't stop them, it's your fault" and the "it's the coach's job to come up with a gameplan to slow them down" argument. this is classless. i'm glad they didn't break 100.
This is all on a level you would never understand. It's about exposure on a national level. National ranking (not State, local, regional, etc). It's about Nike pushing some buttons in the future for some people.
blue it is obvious something u will never understand, if they really where fouling to try and reach 100? wow. -

team first replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
i heard Franks is already missing in action again. I believe he has only played in one district game so far (@ned) -
Bmtsouj....Really very little argument against that team..Who was the best team? Each class? What year? Biggest upset? Biggest dissapointment? Biggest flop, player and team? Best program, coach and future? Just something to ponder, the decade team is very close to what I would have

ESPN Rise Article on Yates!
team first replied to shorttexas1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
What up ..short..still not getting it , huh..Gamble ..class, winner, great teams, character, all adjectives about him and his teams..yes, they could have won and depleted teams. David Greens teams maybe could have too...But they did'nt. Why? simple. Got even more respect when they showed respect to the opposition. It's called sportsmanship. One coach realizing that his team is way more skilled and talented than the other. Then amazingly, calling off the dogs to only win by 30 or 35. Why, because the other team is full of kids.. Yep, 15, 16 and 17 year old kids. Great life lesson. we are here to win, not humiliate or be braggish or straight up classless. We want our school, because that is who we are representing when we compete, to be known as a student body who recognizes that, we may be better in basketball, but it is afterall....a game. Does not mean we would be better in anything else in life...Maybe, but maybe not..its a great thread!!! -
Who is the Best to come out of your school
team first replied to cardinals4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Ned Fab five: 1. Francis Torres 2009 2. Brian Hefner late 80s 3. Jamie Weaver early 80s 4. Corey Loupe 2000ish 5. Dionte Forney PRESENT THIS GROUP COULD SCORE IN BUNCHES... -
A little confused here..Nic Wise ended up playing for Kingwood, but I'm wrong..Clarify please..I like to be right sometimes..If the dad could have coached both kids to state championships, why didnt he? If he is that good , I just dont understand. Also, the point about sending him to the best program. They won back to back, with some of the best players and a dang good coach..Kingwood was class, I understand they could not have beat people by 100, but they were the best team in the state and did it right..Wish some could have picked up on that!!! I will tell you what makes sense to some, have their kid play at a high profile and win championships...Nic Wise!!!

Come on Short...Barely DI, wow, most teams wish they had a juco player here or there, this team has many college prospects. Sure this coach has contributed, maybe even can coach a little. But all of these kids did not attend the feeder schools of Yates. Just did not happen. he kind of does it the same way his kid ended at Kingwood..Moved couple of times to get the right fit.Where is the best chance my kid or these other kids have a chance to get together and win a championship??? Really no big deal, the UIL allows it, and its really the UIL at fault..Just saying a crop of AAU talent makes a coach look preety good huh...Do you agree with that?
