Out of 78 applicants they chose the so called inexperienced Micheal Thomas to be their new head coach and turn the their program around . And Coach ain’t waking thru that door lol...Somehow United incoming principal & the current superintendent didn’t think he could get the job done. As I’ve i always said the grass ain’t always greener on the other side . Mark my words he will bring that program back to life .

Ok I’ll bite. What makes you so sure he will do that? In his one year at Ozen they finished 3rd in district. Yes, they won a playoff game, but many coaches have done that. I’m not being cruel towards your guy, but I’m just curious to know what makes you so sure he will turn Temple around, other than the fact that he is obviously your friend? The fact is, Temple is a job that no one wants anymore, otherwise, there would have been more qualified applicants from that area vying for that job. Again, no harm towards Thomas, he’s a super person, but, this wasn’t Duncanville we are talking about, it’s a program that’s been down a really long time, and Thomas won the gig. That’s it.

  2. That means absolutely NOTHING. If he decides to take the job there they will be notified during the process, which has not even started yet!  The Port Arthur Superintendent will have to get ready to show Coach Coleman the money if they want him to stay! Him going to Summer Creek is not a stretch, especially if he can give himself a raise by changing his commute from an hour and change to FIVE MINUTES.  It would not be bad if he stayed, I'm just looking at the logistics of it all.  It just makes sense.

Yeah that won't happen in BISD. It will be the exact same deal at West Brook and United. Unless you're talking about a backroom hush deal. But, those usually come out anyway. Lol...

Listen it won't HAVE to be any backroom dealings.  They can offer what's called "merit" pay.  The guy has earned whatever they would offer him and if they want to be successful at the new school, they should go after him, BUT where would that leave West Brook? That's the big question.

On the boys side of United basketball would it be beyond the realm of possibilities to think/ponder what was a deal couldve changed to NO DEAL and the door could be still open to applicants that didnt apply for the position ?

Not real sure. I think that Boutte may be back in the picture at this point. He was the obvious choice, then backed out. I think the pot may have been sweetened. Let me check my sources!

I said IF she can coach. I said that without really knowing what she can do.  Actually, non of us knows what she can do since we've never seen her coach boys.  I'm saying this to say...  She's not going for the girls job, for obvious reasons if Coach Walker-Brown put in for the girl's job.

There is a very qualified canidate for this job on the list, but sometimes, there's other things that a factored in sometimes above experience. That may or may not be the case here.  We'll see.  I'm ok either way...

So you mean to tell me that she is not confident enough to apply for the girls job but has the unmitigated GALL to apply for the boys position? I am telling you guys, its a misprint. She is NOT a candidate for a boys job, especially THIS ONE. Perhaps she could try to make history at Hamshire Fannett or some place like that, but THIS one is NOT the one for that. I see a guy or two on this list that may be really good for this job, but Leblanc is NOT getting this job as a female coaching the boys, even if she were trying to apply for it.

  6. I asked someone in administration yesterday and I was told that she was a candidate for the girls position, not the guys. No big deal, I was trying to find out for myself. I hear they are narrowing this thing down over the next few days and preparing to interview.  I was asking what was known about some of these guys. Like I said I know a few of them, but some I've never heard of.  Outside of Thomas and Paul, I know the West Orange coach, another that was a former Ozen and Lamar State assistant, and head coach in Houston, and another if I'm not mistaken used to be the head coach at Houston Wheatley. One other played at Ozen on the state championship team, and was a Central assistant at one time, and two Central girls assistants. Not real sure of the others. Its always fun speculating these things, but you just never know how they will turn out.

  7. I'm curious to know a few things here.  Which of these candidates has the most experience? Who has accomplished the most? Which of these guys have head coaching experience? Which of these guys has ties in BISD? Just curious to know.

FYI - Rashanta Leblanc is a candidate for the GIRLS job not the guys, from what I understand.
