  1. It's a hard job. Bless them for going out there every week after working a full-time job to go out and referee a children's game and suffer the abuse of parents s who have for the most part never played the game, let alone know the rules. And then suffer the indignity of coaches chewing on their ears for 2.5 hours. They don't pay those guys and gals enough. Sure, I boo too. But I try to remember the refs are doing their best and they are in a thankless position. All the experienced refs are retiring and not enough new people are signing up. Its a vicious cycle.
  2. It's been a house of horrors for Livingston. I would feel better if they were traveling to us. But I think you're correct. Livingston is going to find a way and play the winner of Chapel Hill-Henderson in bi-district. Neither of those teams is playing good football right now. And Palestine got smacked around pretty good tonight, they're locked into 3rd in 9-10A-1. Depending on how it works for you (win first, then worry about the tiebreakers), you're either getting Kilgore or Lindale and both of them are clicking. That's going to be a wonderful game. Just getting to the playoffs would be a good jump on the next season for such a young team.
  3. Yeah, the winner of Vidor-Lumberton is in, so is winner of LCM-Splendora. I guess we'll figure out 3/4 afterwards. Win or go home. You control your own fate. No one wants it to come down to a calculator and it won't.
  4. Splendora lost. The Bears got a shot at home. This is crazy. Two 4-0 teams and everyone else 1-3. Only need the calculator for determine who's third and fourth out of the winner of Splendora-LCM and Lumberton-Vidor. Friday is going to fun!
  5. LCM played a better second half. And Livingston ran a different offense tonight. They never run jumbo unless they are at the goal line. it's always a spread. Hats off to the Bears for making the second half interesting. Good luck next week.
  6. Ball game 18-6 Livingston. District title is on the line in Huffman next Friday.
  7. 12-0 Livingston at the half. LCM gets the ball to start the half. Livingston missed their first PAT, was stopped shot inches on it's 2pt conversion, and missed a chance to score a TD at the half after getting the ball back with 40 seconds to go. LCM has not looked good.
  8. To my fellow Bears, LISD streams the game on it Communications Department Youtube page. Go to the school website for more details.
  9. 66 degrees and no wind on Senior Night. Here's to a good game.
  10. I think Jasper might be a little better. Their offensive and defensive lines are bigger and more consistent. And they don't freelance as much in the secondary. I think Livingston has figured out run defense at this point but if you can pass consistently, there's the vulnerability. That's what I'm worried about next week. Not that Hargrave is going to throw bombs but they will run clean short routes and the Lions are going to gamble and let a short pass break loose.
  11. Livingston was in that game until an ill fated fake punt call in its own end zone with less than a minute till halftime and down 7-0 and receiving the Q3 kickoff. The play worked but we didn't pick up the first down. Palestine turned around and scored a few plays later and the game was over. I don't think we do that again in that situation. The kids would welcome a rematch if that's how falls. The District of Doom, as KTRE calls it up here, is solid, but I think our teams have a shot of at least a tie in bi-district. Many people thought/believe Vidor was going to be tough in 4A. All it takes is one game to redeem themselves. Winning a game is hard, let alone a playoff game. Some teams start the season with state or bust as the goal, others just want to improve from last year. This district is kind of in the middle. There's no state title contender but there's enough firepower to make things interesting. So yes, I believe this district has had success in the past and hope it can improve.
  12. Nah, man. You just might be the most dangerous man on this board.
  13. I wouldn't go that far. HISD, AISD, and DISD districts are pretty bad. It's just I. our area, the more glamorous names play in DII. This district has represented itself well in the playoffs and will probably do so again. I'm going 35-14 Livingston.
  14. I find that people who say they're smart are usually the dumbest people in the room. Just saying...
  15. Do you need help evacuating this week? We all know how the hurricane storm surge affects Lumberton. I'm sure Huffman is glad it's coming because they can use it to get the Raiders to forfeit. Heaven forbid they have to play the mighty Raiders.
  16. You're insufferable.
  17. Nah, you could have just said there was a band thread. No one else had a problem with the comment. No one here was talking to you, so miss me with that. And bands are a big part of Friday. it's a general statement about bands, period. not just Livingston. They all look rusty. All the bands have lost half of their performances and I feel bad for them. Why don't you keep me out your threads and I do the same? I've left you Lumberton people alone to wallow in your misery the past few weeks. Y'all, who dared accused us of trying to use weather to get a forfeit from the high and mighty Lumberton Raiders because we were so scared to play you.
  18. All of the bands look rusty. Not playing and marching every week is killing them. Don't you need to go cry with your fellow Lumberton fans? Looks like y'all are finishing in last place. I don't know what you're problem with me is, cuz. Quit being a sore loser and scram!
  19. me too. Next week is not gonna be fun for me... It's never fun watching your school lose.
  20. That's what I'm getting at. Vidor had more calls go their way, or rather more non calls. He ain't look to happy walking towards the bus after the game.
  21. That's because of COVID. I feel bad for all the bands, they're not getting any on field practice
  22. They had y'all ahead of Livingston in the rankings but losing by one. BTW, why was Matthews going crazy on the sidelines? I think y'all got more calls/no calls and the Pirates were the road team. Y'all were holding all night.
  23. You sure did. You might need to go to Vegas with kind of prognostication.
  24. I really wanted the shutout. Kudos to Vidor for the special teams play. With LCM winning there are going to be some interesting tiebreakers for the last two playoff spots. Good luck against Hargrave next week.
  25. Spanky's. Tuffys is in Mauriceville and is closer to Vidor HS than LCM
