  1. For all those that were saying Livingston was looking to get a win by forfeit, look at the scoreboard. Hush!
  2. Go look at the scoreboard. Livingston wasn't scared of y'all.
  3. I pick because I felt and still feel that some of the hysteronics of Lumberton wanting to play on Thursday or else was ridiculous. The forecast up here never called for bad weather and if the weather did get bad, the UIL lets you make the game up on Saturday, Monday or Tuesday. They escalated this out of proportion, like they were going die if we had a Friday football game. I said if you think the storm is that bad, then spend Thursday preparing for the storm because football shouldn't come before securing life and property. I always said prepare for the storm, even when I was teasing. Go back and look. I even said I feel bad for everyone without lights after my dig about people in Lumberton being on their roofs and in need of a boat rescue. They were no where near the storm surge. But if you let the Raiders tell it, they were the target of the eyewall. I exaggerated because they were overreacting. If you don't like it, that's on you.
  4. No, people without power doesn't make me feel better. I just didn't understand the hard on y'all had to play on Thursday when it would be better to spend that time preparing for the storm. I didn't think we were going to play today because weather would mandate the move. it just irked me with all the hysteronics about moving the game. Said over and over that if the weather dictated it, it was gonna move. All the drama, it comes off as whining. And because I live in Livingston, I'm riding with my squad. I can't help y'all beat up on the town I live in. Glad you're safe. hope you get power back soon.
  5. No bad weather here today. Wasn't the prettiest day, but it was ok, more sun than clouds. Do I need to hitch my boat up and come rescue all the Raiders sitting on top of their roofs tonight? I know it's gotta be tough, riding the storm out nearly 100 miles away from the action. In all seriousness, it sucks for everyone who lost power. It's really bad for the people in Lake Charles. Had Laura not hit a month ago, it wouldn't be bad.
  6. Then why all the complaining and moaning? You just shot your argument in the foot.
  7. Both coaches gotta agree to a move. If we said we'll play Saturday, then that was our call. We're not playing today, which is what y'all wanted. Newton has already rescheduled it's Thursday game to Saturday. With the storm forecast has changed and will make landfall later, it'll be wet where you're at most of the day, but it'll probably be a Laura repeat up here. If you're so worried about the storm, spend today getting ready for the storm.
  8. no one is playing in unsafe conditions. that's never an option. That you think I was advocating that is asinine on your part. I always said get prepared for the storm today. and that if if was bad, we weren't playing Friday. Hence the crybaby remarks to Raider fans.
  9. Whatever, go read what I wrote. I never said when they would make a change, just that if weather mandated it would change. And that you wouldn't have to worry about driving in bad weather because if it ain't safe to play it ain't safe to drive. Ugh, y'all some crybabies.
  10. Y'all were being childish about wanting to play Thursday, not me. All the crying was a bit much. If weather dictated a change, it would change. We're playing Saturday ball. You got selective sensitivity. I always said spend Thursday to prepare for the storm and it wouldn't make sense to have people drive through a monsoon for a game. Chill the you know what out, people! Y'all Lumberton people are sensitive!
  11. Wasn't wrong. I said if if was bad Friday we'd play Saturday. Y'all were worried about it, not me.
  12. Then pray for a storm to hit next year when we're supposed to play in Lumberton and do it to us. I won't make a stink about it. At that point, I'll just be going to home games.
  13. if it's that bad, we'll probably be playing Saturday.
  14. It's hard being right. It's a gift/curse. IDK why everyone is hard up for Thursday. Seems like a great day to get ready for the storm. Either we'll play Friday or we'll play Saturday. but no one is going to play in unsafe conditions.
  15. Hurricanes do what they want to do. A wet field doesn't help us. we like throwing the ball. I just don't know why Lumberton is so eager to get beat down a day earlier? Is there some unknown PVIL school they are trying to honor with a throwback Thursday game? Actually that would be cool. We could wear our Dunbar Leopards uniforms. Are y'all gonna borrow unis from Silsbee (Waldo Matthews) or Kountze Washington Carver? Jasper could pull out it's Rowe unis, WOS could be the Emma Wallace Dragons, PA can bring back the Bumblebees. Beaumont has it's panthers. In all seriousness, spend tomorrow getting ready. And if the storm isn't bad, we can start the weekend right with football.
  16. If Friday turns bad, then why would you play Thursday when you should spend that day getting ready for the storm? And if Friday is bad, there won't be a safety issue regarding travel because the game will be rescheduled to the next available date. It's Livingston's call. Next year when Lumberton hosts, y'all can move the game up or back if there's inclement weather to your hearts' content.
  17. Is Lumberton afraid of a little rain? Come on! Seriously, I doubt we get anything up here. I hardly had any rain from Laura and this storm is going to land further east. And if if it did shift west, I'd rather spend Thursday preparing for the storm than being at a game. At worst, we play Saturday football. So quit crying!
  18. The Lions last win in district was against Ozen. They just broke a 20 game losing streak last season. They have been picked to finish last in district the past three years, including this year's Dave Campbell's Texas Football. No one on this boad outside of Livingston fans thought they were going to compete for a playoff spot. If that's not the definition of a guaranteed W, I don't know what is. Oh, what short memories we have.
  19. Livingston wins by a score after being up by 2-3 TDs for most of the game. We like to let teams stay close. The Lions are no longer a guaranteed win. Yes fans are allowed. No tix sales at the gates.
  20. Steve Griffith was the man for the job in baseball. Bears did alright with him at the helm.
  21. While it's not as glamorous as Shadow Creek, Alvin is open! [Hidden Content] Say stupid things, win stupid prizes!
  22. That story has been floating around in Houston for a while. He won't be playing anytime soon. probably for the best.
  23. Why would you want him? He's a knucklehead. He's the same young man that was using the n-word all nilly willy last year. He clearly hasn't learned anything. Besides, even if he transferred, he would still have to serve the school suspension at his new campus. Moving to a new school doesn't negate the punishment. Tulsa should consider letting him figure this out at Jr. college. If he's dumb enough, (or more likely entitled enough) to get caught with weed at school, he's not making good life choices right now. He should focus on life and worry about football later. That said, free the weed in Texas.
  24. It wasn't as close as the score indicated. Madisonville. 7-3-0-6. 16 Livingston. 7-7-7-0. 21 move to 3-2(Should be 4-1). Enters bye on three game win streak. That district losing streak is ending this season.
  25. IDK, man. It just feels like a bad loss. When the schedule comes out, you ought to look at that game as a win. Granted, the kids had a lot on their mind with the storm. I just hope this next one doesn't decide to sit on top of y'all Wednesday and Thursday..
