  1. LCM has two Jr high schools. All their kids don't play together until high school. So I wouldn't conclude that that's how it's going to be the next four years. And their 14u youth team went to Nationals in South Carolina in 2019. LCM isnt worried about Silsbee.
  2. I don't think the end result would be any different if the Hawks had a week to prepare for this game. It's going to be a difficult game against a tall fast team that most people have Crayola'd in as state champs. Godspeed Hawks.
  3. I had a good feeling about that. Shepherd's ask was contrary to everything they did leading up to the realignment announcement. It doesn't pay to be petty.
  4. WOS had a great year. They played great defense and frustrated the Hawks for most of the game. They played good enough on that side of the ball to make it a competitive game. They just couldn't take care of the ball on offense and it was all the difference in the world. No. 3 was everything as advertised. It was a great crowd. WOS showed out in force. It was much bigger than it was last week. Good luck HJ. It'll be fun seeing them in our district next year.
  5. Ughh that got ugly in a hurry. Bad clock keeper didn't start it up until WOS got past half court.
  6. Where's this blow out everyone was talking about? The Mustangs look very up to the task tonight. Hard to beat a team three times.
  7. LCM is going to be good in about a year. Their freshmen and Jr high group are solid. There's going to be a roar but it'll be coming from the Bears. They're going to get a district title and run with it. Next two years will be fun, the best 4A district in the area is shifting west to I69. Losing HJ and HF is a blow to the depth but Orangefield will be a nice addition. If y'all play Huffman Hargrave next week, I may venture out. It's a shame that game isn't a regional tournament game. If they both survive, it's a pick'em. The Falcons are a better version of HJ.
  8. As a dyed in green and gold bear, it hurts me but I'm pulling for the Mustangs Tuesday. I know HJ has the out of this world, future WNBA star, but it's hard to beat the same team three times in a season. WOS has played great defense down the strech and they are getting good contributions all around. Could we see an upset? Thoughts?
  9. Only lose one starter and one senior off the bench. It was an up and down year but it looks like they don't finally figured it out over the last couple of weeks and played to their advantage with their height. They're going to be a mainstay in the playoffs the next few years as our younger teams are dominating. We're on the upswing. They will compete for a spot in the regional tournament these next few years.
  10. Good game Silsbee. Best of luck the rest of the playoffs.
  11. Nah we did that last year. There's no gym between us that would have been a neutral court. Coach had to give his team the best chance. They only need the team, coaches and refs. We're not necessary. If not going to game guaranteed a win, I'd take it.
  12. Livingston is pretty tall, ehh? We quit shooting threes and just drive in on y'all we might have an upset...
  13. They play in those gyms all the time. It's ok to venture out of your comfort zone every now and then.
  14. Both teams have a 90 minute ride to the venue. Last year at Kountze (great facility, btw) was practically a home game for Hardin-Jefferson. Lee College has a great facility. And it's a true neutral court. I'm excited to be there tonight.
  15. Why are we picking on HISD? The school district has ignored the community schools, leaving a lot of kids that can to transfer out because all the good programs are at Lamar, Bellaire, etc. HISDs refusal to bring magnet programs to the inner city has killed these schools. I wish these schools had the programs that would keep most of the kids in their zone at their schools and bring in a few outside kids as well. So as long as the enrollment says they're 4A, they're 4A. I believe only two of their 4A schools qualify for DI but all of them are playing up. Yates has always been good at basketball, going way back to the Prairie View UIL days. To say that the only reason they are good now is that HISD is artificially keeping their enrollment down is ludicrous.
  16. The Lions are tall and long. If they remember this, they can make this interesting as they have been a good defensive team. The downfall is shooting, there are too many times they go through 4-5 minute scoring droughts. They would have to play the perfect game to win. Crazier things have happened. It'll be fun.
  17. 52-33 Livingston Final
  18. 26-15 Q2. So far so good...
  19. 17-7 Livingston after Q1. Senior night. DeBrian Rains and Ethan White honored before the game. Great kids. Shout out to the HJ coaching staff scouting the game.
  20. 63-61 Livingston. In OT. Still a chance....
  21. 62-52 Huffman Final. Good game. Good luck falcons on the rest of their season.
  22. 56-42 Huffman with 146 left to play Livingston is making this interesting...
  23. 45-36 Falcons after 3 Lions cut the lead to 31-27 with 4 minutes before the falcons stretched it 16 point. Livingston end the quarter on. 7-0 run and a long buzzer beating 3.
  24. 28-19 Hargrave at the half . Lions cut it to 3 several times but the Falcons found little runs to keep them at Bay. Ought to be a fun second half.
